Chapter 100
Long after Calhoun placed Ariana in the car and started driving to his grandparents villa, she couldn't get over the complement he gave her. Her cheeks had taken a permanent pink hue and no matter how hard she tried to stir the thought out of her head it refused to go. It remained as a stone imprint sitting there in her head and constantly bringing butterflies to life at a pace that was killing.
"Ariana, we are here," Calhoun whispered.
Ariana snapped out of her daze and looked around. They were in front of the biggest mansion she had ever seen. Not even the movies could act out a scene in a house like this. Her ryes were almost falling out of their sockets as she looked around her.
The building was painted white and the sun reflection on it made it seem like she was looking at the heavenly gates.
There was a large fountain by the center of the compound that housed a statue of Cupid the god of love.
"I wish we could just stay on here and I continue watching you but we have to go in there Ariana. Everyone's waiting," Calhoun said with a smile on his face. It wasn't his usual devilish smile, this one looked like it came from deep within his soul. He looked genuinely happy to watch her.
This made Ariana blush even more. It was like a fresh wave of colour on her face. Thank God she didn't apply a lot of makeup or it would have turned into a disaster.
"Sure, let's go." She started pulling the seat belt from her side but Calhoun stopped her fingers. The connection between their fingers brought tingling to her toes. She felt shy all of a sudden.
She looked up at him from under her lashes, wondering what he was going to say but his smile was still there.
"Let me do it," he whispered in a voice that was so sweet Ariana could melt in the ecstasy.
Calhoun didn't wait for her reply. He gently pulled the belt from the car and then took it off her shoulders. The movement caused him to move closer to her such that her breath was fanning his face.
The belt was off but Calhoun kept the position. She was holding her breath. As if wishing he'd go away faster or stay longer. She looked so cute when she was like this, Calhoun could never get enough of her. She was so beautiful yet so natural.
The way she took sharp breathes made her round breasts rise toward his chest and he wished he could rip her dress off to watch the action happen raw. His groin was already tight and he wanted her.
He raised his finger and touched her nose.
Ariana closed her eyes, then she did what he couldn't resist, she bit her bottom lip.
"Stop that?" He whispered in a husky voice.
He wanted to take her so bad, his control was slowly slipping out of his fingers. But he held himself back. Ariana was not the type of girl one took in a car. He would never be satisfied.
He needed a large bed.
"What?" Ariana squeaked with her eyes slightly opened now.
"Your lips." His eyes were now lingering on her lips and nothing could stop him from kissing her brainless.
Ariana raised her eyes to his face and her breath constricted again. The butterflies in her stomach had grown into dragons threatening to eat up her heart if she didn't give in to the pull that was drawing her to Calhoun.
He was coming for her lips and she had to act fast. If she let him kiss her, she wouldn't be able to stop him nor herself.
"Calhoun, your family is waiting. We have to go in..." She managed to whisper as she gently pushed him away.
Calhoun's eyes darkened for a briefly as he weighed his options. It wouldn't take him a lot to cancel the entire dinner but his grandparents would be sourly disappointed plus they would take him for a joker. Worst, they might even bring Alice to him.
"Fine." He growled.
He turned to his side of the door and pushed it open. His mood had gone down the drain now and the only thing in his head was to get the dinner over and done with so he could have Ariana to himself.
Ariana was shocked at his sudden behavior. She watched as he walked out of the car and half expected him to just leave her there. She was surprised when he started coming to her side of the car. He pulled the door open and stretched out his hand to her.
"Come, beautiful, everyone's waiting," he said.
She swallowed her worries and gave him her hand to hold. His grip was firm as he helped her out of the car.
As they started walking towards the house all thoughts of Calhoun change of mood vanished as fear slowly consumed her. She remembered that about Fifteen people could be expecting her in there and she knew nothing about any of them.
Calhoun tightened his grip on her as if sensing her fears as they got to the large doors. They opened as they got close to it and there was an old Butler at the other side to welcome them.
"Good evening, Master Calhoun," the man said bowing slightly to them.
"Good evening Alfred." Calhoun responded.
"Your family is in the dinning already waiting for you, sir," the man said leading them to the place.
Ariana thought the ground was growing steeper the further they went. If it wasn't for Calhoun's support by her side she would have ran away already. She was so tensed up, she didn't even notice the beautiful interior of the house. The only sound in her ears was that of her racing heart.
"Calhoun, my boy!" Grandmother said the moment they entered into the dinning room.
She got up and walked to them. She hugged Calhoun and placed kisses all over his face, then turned to Ariana. "This must be the beautiful lady you spoke of, you are welcome to the Lawson family!" She exclaimed.
"Already welcoming someone we haven't even met!" Someone scoffed and Ariana felt her heart sink.
