Chapter 186
"I cant believe you let him go just like that!" Sofia spat from the corner of the couch.
The tension in the room was as thick as concrete. They'd all just discovered that Calhoun had left the house with Ariana. What was the point of being in the Lawsons house if the one they had wanted to torment was not living there with them anymore?
"What was I supposed to do, dance around naked and cry my eyes out?" Nikita exclaimed. She was sick and tired of Sofia continuously throwing the blame on her. There was nothing she could do to stop Calhoun. He wasn't the innocent little boy she had toyed with in the past. He was a man in every sense and term. And whej she tried, he rejected her. What more could she do?
"Maybe if you did that he mught have stayed!" Sofia fired back.
"And what have you done aside sleeping with Noah?" Nikita spat out in anger.
Sofia became red at the instant. She had thought no one knew but she had been a fool to trust that stupid Noah. He went and sold her out! Now Lily is going to think her plan is perfect.
She was about to give a befitting come back when Lily got up from the chair she had been occupying.
"That's enough!" She roared. "I do not want a single word from any of you! I want result and not noise! Since you have both failed in getting results please stay silent!" She snapped.
She had been trying to think of a solution to their problems ever since she saw Calhoun walk out of the house but their incessant noise wasn't helping her evil mind device a good plan.
"Lily, you shouldn't speak with me in that tone. I am not like Nikita here! Do not look at me in the same level! You know better!" Sofia spat.
"I only know that you need my son to marry you before you can become who you think you are!" Lily retorted. Sofia's pride was starting to get to her. The Brentwood girl thought the world of herself when she was nothing.
Sofia narrowed her eyes at Lily. She hissed and got up from the couch she had been reclined on. "I see you are not in the mood to hold a reasonable conversation. I am leaving. Check me in Noah's room when you have something meaningful to talk about!" She said and walked out.
Nikita raised her brow watching as Sofia walked out of Lily's room. Unlike Sofia, she really had nothing to fall back on if this failed. Sofia Brentwood had her father and Older sister but Nikita had no one. She had to follow through with Lily for the next plan.
"What do you think would happen now?" Nikita asked as she moved to stare out the window. She had to start replanning herself. Her eyes fell on Matt. He was by the pool, basking in the sun. He could be her target. He was stupid and didn't have a lot of inheritance but he was a Lawson. If their grandfather saw a little commitment in him, he wouldn't lack a thing. At least not food.
"I think you should go back home and let me settle this on my own," Lily replied sternly.
Nikita turned from the window and glared at Lily. There was confusion on her face as she stared at the older woman.
"I dont understand. What are you saying?" Nikita asked still surprised.
"I am saying that your purpose here is gone. You dont need to stay here anymore!" Lily growled and Nikita saw the evil mischievous look on her face. She had been standing behind her and she must have seen her looking down at Matt.
Nikita smiled. Lily always thought she was smart and she could outplay herself. Well, she was in for a mega surprise. Unlike Calhoun, Matt wasn't a man of his words. He strictly did what his mother told him or what his cock told him to do.
"Okay, I guess I should get packing then," Nikita said with a large smile on her face.
Lily cocked her brows wondering what was making the young actress happy when she was literally sending her out of their lives.
Nikita didn't give her the leverage to see more emotions on her face. She walked out of the room and went to get her things. She changed into something very light and rolled her box out of the room. Her direction wasn't the gate though, it was the swimming area behind the house. Nikita didn't become an actress for her looks alone. She was smart and she planned to use that smartness to make a name for herself.
"Nikky?" Matt called as he saw her approaching with a bag. "What's going on? You just got here... where are you going?"
Nikita sniffed. She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth and tried to keep the tears from falling but it was of no use. They spilled down her cheeks causing Matt to panic. He jumped out of his seat and came to her side.
"Is this about Calhoun?" He asked as he held her upper arm. "Nikita i told you to relax. I am here. You dont have to cry over that guy," Matt said as a frown settled on his face.
She tried to calm herself as she nodded her head to what Matt was telling her. "Its not your cousin —it's not Cally. I just need to go back home. I am no longer needed here. I am sorry," she stated trying to pull herself away.
Matt held her back tightly refusing to let her go. "What do you mean by you are not needed here? Who said that? This is my grandfather's house too and I have a right to bring in my friend."
"No, Matt. I dont want any problems. I have to leave. Lily has been so nice to me, I wouldnt want to disobey her," Nikita whispered in horror.
Matt stopped to narrow his eyes at the statement she had just made. "My mother asked you to leave?" He whispered.
Nikita nodded positively to his questions and Matt pulled his hair back in irritation. "Why would she do that?" He spat.
