Chapter 23
Ethan was heartbroken. He drove away from Aria's apartment. The plan was to go straight home but he couldn't do it. His heart was aching and his hands shook mimicking the movements in his heart.
He couldn't believe Aria had humiliated him like that. He had gotten her so many expensive and valuable things yet she threw them all away. She thrashed them like they were with nothing.
He throws his eyes to the back seat of his car and the shining materials and pieces of jewelry stare back at him in sadness.
What else could he do?
Whatever had happened between him and Sofia was a minor thing. She didn't have to make such a big deal out of it. He had been doing the worst stuff and she forgave him every time why then should this be different?
Did she not love him anymore?
No! —That wasn't possible.
Aria could never love someone else other than him. She belonged to him. Her smooth virgin body was his to explore and enjoy. They had been together for so long yet he had been patient and now that he wanted to make things official this had to happen!
"Why?" He screamed throwing a punch to the steering wheel. It caused a loud honking sound to fill the air and Ethan jumped pulling his hands away.
Aria was going to drive him crazy! Was it a crime to love now?
He had to do something to get Aria back. If calls and gifts didn't work something else would have to work —Something like a proposal!
"Yes!" He jumped on his seat in excitement.
No woman could refuse a proposal. It was something they all played for and dreamed of. Aria would be so happy, she would forgive him and things would return as they were.
A large grin grew on his lips as he played his perfect plan in his head.
First, he would rent the biggest hall in the city. Next, he would get decorators to drape the whole place with flowers, beautiful dangling flowers —maybe even red roses.
Yes, those would be amazing.
Then, it would have to be in the evening when the sky was dark enough to brew the intense colors of love. And finally, under the million tiny lights that would illuminate the hall, the orchestras would start to play a romantic piece and he would kneel before her for the whole world to see how much he loved her. He would ask the question she had been dying to hear over and over for the past year —will you marry me?
Aria couldn't be able to resist that! Never!
Satisfied with his plans, he decided to call Kevin to get the arrangements started. The sooner, the earlier this large lump that sat on his heart went away.
"Don't worry Aria, you will be in my arms soon. All the pain you feel now will be washed away by the joy I will bring to you..." He whispered to the air.
He was about to reach out to grab his phone in his pockets when the device started ringing. Coincidentally it was Kevin —the person he had wanted to call.
"Kevin, you are such a perfect timer. I need you to do something for me," he said grinning from ear to ear, on the phone.
"Sir, I have something very important to tell you." His voice wavered in hesitation and Ethan wondered what could make him act like that but he didn't have the time to dwell on it. Whatever Kevin wanted to say could wait till he had Aria in his arms again.
"Kevin, hold the news for later. I need you to prepare a surprise proposal for Aria and me. Get the best planners you can get your hands on, if they are booked tell them I will pay four times their regular fees. Then I will need-"
"Sir, I am sorry to interrupt you but your uncle is here and this is about Miss Brown."
Ethan's left eye was already twitching in anger for getting interrupted by a mere worker of his but at the mention of Aria's name, he became very much interested.
"What about Aria?" He asked firmly. From the way Kevin was sounding he knew that whatever it was, was not going to be a good thing because Kevin's voice was somewhere between worry and fear —and that combo can never be good.
"There is a video on the-" suddenly Kevin's voice got lost on the line and it started breaking
"Hello?" Ethan asked getting impatient. What fucking video was he trying to talk about?
"Ethan! I need you to return to your office right now!" His uncle's gruff voice filled the phone and Ethan had to roll his eyes in annoyance.
"I'll be there."
His uncle was the father he had never seen in life. Everything Ethan was today was because of the man. So it was impossible to refuse him. To make it worst, whatever his uncle was angry about, had something to do with Aria and some Video Kevin was trying to warn him about.
He started the ignition and reversed before slowly easing into the main road. As he drove back to his office, he wondered what could have angered his uncle to the point of him coming to look for him in his office?
What video was Kevin talking about?
He took the last turning and his office building came into view. Taking his time, he moved slowly till he got into the car park area where he piloted the car to a stop.
He got down, glancing painfully at the pieces of clothes in the car. He sighed. When he was done with his uncle, he would send Kevin to pick them all up and send them to Thea, his personal shopper.
Kevin was waiting for him at the entrance. "Sir, there is a little trouble."
"What is it?" Ethan hissed as they approached the elevator.
"There is a video going viral on social networks where Miss Brown throws you out of her house. Your uncle saw it and he is not happy about it." Kevin spoke so fast, he began gasping as soon as he finished briefing his boss.
Shit!
This couldn't be good at all, -Ethan thought.
As soon as the door to his office opened, his uncle's gruff voice reached him.
"What in the hell were you thinking, Ethan?"
