Good day Mr Calhoun," Alice greeted as she shook hands with the charming god in front of her. He had the kind of aura that could cool of your anger.
Yet, she was angry that Ariana ditched her at the last minute. What was her house worth that she could leave it for such an important meeting?!
It was that piece of roofing that she called a house?, They just plastered cement and place it into poorly placed reinforcements and some house paint then they called it a house!_ Alice thought to herself as she moved to the chair.
"Essential mists?" She asked as she settled in the chair.
"Of course it is, who wouldn't want their office to have a signature smell?" Calhoun asked with a smile.
"Yes of course you are right, I happy to see that Miranda has made such a good name." She added.
"Please Jessica get her something," Calhoun pointed.
"What would you like to have?" Jessica asked.
She was doing the work of Calhoun's Personal assistant because she went on maternity leave. Jessica doubted if she was going to come back even after the leave, because they spoke about her taking a leave three months ago. Everybody would miss her because she was one of the nicest person around. sooner or later he would have to find someone to give the position to. But for now Jessica had the job. The advantage to it was that half of his personal assistant's salary was going to her and the other half and her allowances were going to his PA.
"What would you like to have?" Jessica asked.
Alice's eyes wandered around the room staring at the beautiful masterpiece that hung above. It was something that you couldn't stop staring at.
"I would like some water please." She requested still looking up.
"Just water? How will you come to my company and have just water? After all you are about to be a share her in my company so why would I let you take just water, talk and leave?" Calhoun asked and she looked down at him.
"Really its fine only water would be fine for me. " she said with a small smile.
"You should eat at least, please Jessica get this woman some tea and biscuits at least,," Calhoun requested.
"I said I'm fine, Mr Calhoun " she called.
"Jessica Ignore her and get the snacks" he insisted and Jessica did as she was told.
Jessica turned and walk out to get her some snacks. Alice just smiled at Calhoun.
"You are really a stubborn man." Alice said.
"Yes of course haven't you heard?" He asked jokingly.
"Not really I think I'll have to update my social media," She joked and he laughed.
"What about your Assistant? " He asked her as he arranged the file on his table.
"The girl had something important apparently that she couldn't even come to such an important meeting." She said as she rolled her eyes.
"Yours is so obediently and clean," Alice added
"She's not my Personal assistant she's my Secretary, she's just taking her place temporarily," Calhoun said.
"Wow, that's nice," Alice said.
"So are you aware that it's only 20% profit you will make?" He asked as he crossed his hands on the table.
"Yes I'm aware of that," she said still with her smile.
At this point she wasn't even listening to him her attention were on his face and how he spoke. It was impossible to not fa for his face.
No man had ever made her that way. She wanted to have him. She had heard of the charms of Calhoun but she didn't know it would have such an effect on her.
"Miss Alice." Jessica called her out of her trance as she held a cup of tea in her hands with some biscuits on the side.
"Thank you," She said.
Alice sipped the tea, and smiled.
"This is nice." She complimented.
"Thank you I made it myself," Jessica responded.
Alice hated complimenting people, especially simple workers. But she had to look nice in front of Calhoun. She had a reputation to keep.
"You may leave," he said to Jessica.
Jessica walked out of the office leaving only Calhoun and Alice.
"The contract is going to last for two years?" He asked as he scrolled through the file.
"Yes, it is, After the contract if you wish to continue it's your choice." She said
"I really adore you offers but I'm sorry I can't sign such," Calhoun said as he continued to scroll through.
"Why?" She asked alerted.
No one had ever refused to sign her contracts. This was going to be hard for her.
"Like I said I cant agree to such conditions so I refuse to sign." He concluded.
"But shouldn't you reconsider the offer?" Alice asked. "At least think about it." She added.
Calhoun was going to be a jack pot for her. She was going to make
"Well, I have thought and I'm sorry I can't accept it, I'm sorry to say but this meeting is over. Please leave my office I have to get back to work." Calhoun requested.
Alice stared at him in disbelief, on a normal day she would have blasted him before she left but she could still get under his skin. Calhoun was a man, Apparently according to Alice a man can not resist such a beautiful woman like her.
"Do you need me to get the security or you would get out by yourself and not get embarrassed?" He asked not giving a single glance.
"I'll leave it was nice talking to you Mr Calhoun." Alice said before she stood up.
She grabbed her purse from the table and place it over her shoulder as she walked out with her head held high.
As she walked outside to the elevator, she smiled to herself.
Calhoun was a mystery she wanted to solve and she would go at any extent to have him. Even though it meant killing a person.
