Chapter 49
Ariana was happy, disappointed and confused at the same time.
She was happy he ignored her, confused on why he ignored her and went ahead to see Alice and she was disappointed she didn't get to say a word before he walked past her.
Ariana locked the door and walked back to Alice. A million thoughts started to revolve around her head. Why would Ethan come to her work place. She had been fine without him. He was memory she wanted to Erase from her head completely. Why wouldn't he let her be? But if he was here for her he would have spoken to her, what could Ethan probably be planning this time?
"Ethan it's nice seeing you after such a long time," Alice said as she opened her arms for a hug.
"You aren't as happy as I am seeing you trust me!" Ethan replied before he hugged her.
Even Ariana could notice that the smile on her face was fake. It was the one she wore when she was on the press conference it was almost as if she went to fake smile class. She had never seen Alice genuinely smile.
"To what do I owe this sudden visit?" Alice asked as Ethan settled down with Ariana to the side.
"There are a lot of things we have to talk about but I need your... Assistant to leave us to talk alone," Ethan said before he glanced at Ariana for a split second.
Ariana felt the sharp stare at her but she refused to look back.
Ariana was already turning away but she was stopped by Alice.
"Where do you think you are going?" Alice questioned.
"I was asked to leave the room," Ariana replied.
"Did I give you permission to leave?" Alice asked.
"No, I'm sorry." She said as she returned to where she stood.
"What is it you want to talk about that my Assistant here can't be present," She said.
"It's very personal and it's a surprise, Ariana... I mean your assistant here can't keep a secret," He said.
"Oh Okay, I'm sorry, Aria leave this room you heard the man," Alice declared.
Ariana slowly turned around and walked out the room with many questions terrorizing her thoughts. Everything revolved about Ethan's visit with Alice.
"Psst, hey why did he come here?" Lisa whisper-shouted at the corner.
"Trust me I have no idea what he is here for, I definitely know it's not about me, and I don't care," She lied.
"Really?" Lisa said in a bored tone before she placed her hand on her waist.
"You and I both know 'WE' want to know why he came here for a visit," Lisa said.
"Wow, it's weird how you know me to well," Ariana replied with a smile.
"But what's the point, we will never know why he came here," Lisa said before she collapsed on her chair.

"What is it you want to talk about?" Alice asked.
"I'm here because of Ariana," he said before he heaved a sigh.
"What about Ariana?" She asked as she readjusted on the chair she sat on.
"I don't know if it is possible but I want you to give her a day off tomorrow Saturday," Ethan said as he rubbed his palm.
"She doesn't work on Saturday, so she is free" Alice said before she continued to check her files.
For a second she thought he was going to talk about Sofia, but it was about Ariana once again.
She regretted giving him some time to even speak to her.
"Sorry to ask but what is it you want to do with the woman who has rejected you a lot of times, I may be of help. You never know," She said.
"I want to propose to her. I want to show her how much I love her. I want to show her that I will marry her," Ethan said with hope in his eyes.
"Oh I see, that would be nice," Alice said to herself.
"I suppose our meeting is over, please use the door," She dismissed with a smile.
Ethan knew how Alice could be so he left without causing further problems.
He wanted to go to Ariana, a mere touch would satisfy him. His dear Ariana, she even refused to stare or even glance at him.
Ariana stood at the door as she watched him go out of the office, she didn't want him to see her. The last thing she wanted was a conversation with him.
"Hey Ariana," Lisa called.
Ariana opened the door for Lisa to enter.
"Hey what's up?"She asked as Lisa grinned from ear to ear.
"Raise your hands up if you like Shawn Mendez!!" Lisa yelled.
"Me!" Ariana replied like a teenager.
"Guess whose ticket just arrived for the concert which is scheduled for next month!" Lisa squealed like a child.
"How did you do it!!" Ariana exclaimed trying to to hold her excitement.
"Pulled some strings and met a guy," Lisa said with a wink.
"I love you!" Ariana said before she kissed Lisa on her forehead.
"Lisa!" Alice yelled from her office.
"Oh She calls!" Lisa said before she ran off.
The day might have started bad for Ariana but it was going well.
Ariana's phone rang from her bag and she rushed over to get it.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Ariana we have a situation at home," Mrs Brown's voice sounded stressed and tired from the phone.
The moment her mom's voice and situation made sense in her head, her heart flipped in his place.
"Mom? What's wrong?" Ariana asked as she clutched the table besides her In fear.
"He hadn't been well since morning, I carried him to the hospital. But his fever is getting worse by the seconds, I have been able to pay a deposit but I am afraid I will not the able to complete the bill, please Ariana anything you can provide me with," Mrs Brown cried on the line for her daughter's help.
"Anything you want, I will do for you. You don't have to worry too much, I'll send you everything I have just stay calm," Ariana cried.
