Chapter 62
Lawson's group was a very popular Industry. It would be a lie if she said she wasn't proud of him. Ariana heard it was hard to get into that company. Only the best were able to make it. Even his own relatives aren't working in his company.
She would be very pleased to see him and work with him.
Ariana rolled with her face looking up.
Her phone vibrated beside her.
She looked at the caller ID and she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. Her throat went dry as she stared at the ringing phone.
All the senses in her body that had slowly started to shut down had woken up. She had already forgotten he existed. Why was he calling her at this moment.
The feeling In her stomach was making it uneasy for her.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hi Ariana," Calhoun answered in a hoarse voice.
If a voice could give you a heart disease then Ariana would have been dead in the spot.
She squeezed her eyes shut before she let out a shaky breathe.
Calhoun chuckled before he spoke again, "how have you been?" He asked.
His voice had already removed Ariana's sense of thinking straight. His voice was like candy to a little child. If it was possible for her to listen to that voice everyday then she would never leave.
"I have been fine," She replied trying her best to be composed.
"I can feel it. I came over today you weren't there, where are you?" He questioned with much authority.
He asked the question like she belonged to him. She barely even knew his name why was he asking her such questions?
"As a citizen of the United States, I have the right to freedom of movement. I can go wherever I want without having to explain myself to you," Ariana said feeling proud of herself for giving him such a long lecture..
"Smart isn't she? I just felt like seeing her beautiful face." He said like he was speaking to someone else but Aria knew he was talking to her.
Ariana felt a bolt of electricity pass from her hands to her stomach. Her stomach felt like it would explode because of the amount of butterflies that flew in her tummy. His words had angered the butterflies and they were causing a stampede in her stomach. Her breath hinged and she sat on the edge of the bed feeling uneasy. The undeniable ache between her core wasn't making it easy either.
"You think I am beautiful?" She asked.
"I don't think I have ever seen a woman like you before, your body burnt my skin. I'll pay any amount to have you on my bed again," He said so bluntly Ariana felt her head flip over.
She felt her face burn with embarrassment at his words. She needed air. His words were hitting her in a different angle.
"Say something to me Ariana..." He whispered on the line.
Ariana was tempted to tell him she wanted him too. At this moment she would also pay anything to see him here with her. He was messing with her head, she could not think straight.
"What do you want me to say?" She managed to reply but her voice was filled with the strain of her arousal.
"Anything Ariana..." He whispered back enjoying the effect he was having on her.
Ariana held her chest as she collapsed on the bed with the phone in her hands. Her heart was beating like the drums of Olympus.
There was a possibility she was going to get an heart attack from all the sweet words that escaped the man's mouth.
She wanted him to stop, yet she wanted him to continue. Her brain was a confused mess.
"What's your name?" She finally found a suitable question.
"Just call me Cal," he said.
"Okay, Cal." She replied testing the name around her tongue.
Ariana swallowed deeply as she heard his sigh.
Even his sigh was sexy, maybe that was why they hired him at Vogue bar. Because, he was sexy without any effort.
He didn't do it on purpose, it was like his natural trait. To be sexy. It would probably run through his family.
His children would also be sexy —God she was going crazy.
"I should probably leave you to sleep," He finally said in a strained voice.
"Y-yes, Good night Cal," Ariana replied eagerly. She couldn't wait for him to end the call so she would breath out air.
"Good night sweet heart," He said before he hung up the phone.
Aria let out a deep breath as she dropped the phone on her laps. Her hands were cold and shaky.
What if he called back? —Ariana asked herself.
Immediately she took the phone and placed it on airplane mode. The last thing she wanted was to go through that trauma Again.
Ariana rolled over again for the last time trying to find the best position to sleep. Finally she fell deep into sleep.
She woke up because of the sounds that came from outside her room. She could here people discussing. She looked around the room first confused, then she realised she was in her room and the voices belonged to her parents.
Ariana stood up from the bed and gently opened the door to go greet her parents.
Turns out they weren't outside her room.
She followed the sound to were the voice came from but she stopped when she heard her name in the conversation they were having.
"What if she finds out?" Her mother asked her father. Ariana frowned as she watched her parents speak from the corner.
"Brenda she wouldn't know anything, besides what makes you so sure she would have given us if we asked and didn't she tell you she was coming?" Her father asked.
"If she did tell me about her arrival would I be this worried?" Her mother asked in a panicked tone.
"Now that she is here what? Tell her the truth?" Her dad said.
"No, she would believe you were seriously sick when she sees how pale you look, you look like a sick man already," Brenda remarked.
"But don't you think she needs to know at least I feel bad lying to her," her father said.
Ariana could not believe her ears. She now knew her father was not sick. But if he was not sick why did they take money from her? What was truly going on?
"Mom, dad what's going on?" Aria questioned coming out of the shadows.
