Chapter 96
"Ariana, what are you doing here?" She screeched.
"I am working, Alice," Ariana replied with so much fire in her voice that Calhoun smiled and stood protectively by her side.
Alice moved her eyes from Calhoun to Ariana and then back again.
"What's going on here?" She screeched like she was having a conversation with a ghost.
Calhoun held Aria by the waist and a devilish smirk appeared on his face. "Remember when I said I had a lover, well she is standing right in front of you."
Blood seemed to drain off Aria's face as the words sank deep into her head. She couldn't believe what her ears and eyes were receiving.
"Calhoun you can't be with her!" She said raising a shaky finger to Ariana. She got up from the seat she was occupying and looked between the two of them again. It was like the view from the chair was deceiving her and it was clearer when she got up.
"Why can't he be with me?" Ariana asked raising her brows. She expected Alice to come with something better. That line was growing old.
"Calhoun, you can't be with her! She can't be here!" She rambled unable to make sense of what exactly she wanted to utter.
"I advice you leave here right now before I call the security on you..." Calhoun growled angrily. It made his blood boil that she could refer to Ariana like she was no important person. If he kept staring at her he would definitely do something horrible.
"Leave!" He repeated.
Ariana could have sworn she saw a thunder clap on Alice's face as she clutched her bag and took brisks steps to the door like a robot.
The satisfaction Ariana felt, left her body the moment the door closed behind Alice. She felt Calhoun hold on her body tighten. Her heart picked a different beat, she didn't know if it was fear or a new sort of excitement.
"You look amazing," Calhoun whispered in her ear with a sort of voice that made her toes curl in her shoes.
He turned her over so that she was facing him. He was still sporting his usual devilish grin but there was a spark in his eyes that pulled Ariana in like magnet.
"I thought I asked you to stay at home this week. Couldn't stay away from me, for a week could you?" His voice was so sexy, Ariana felt her breath seize as butterflies flipped over in her stomach.
She turned her eyes to the ground as she forced her head to bring up an answer. "I— I don't want the world to think I am after you for your money," she managed to say.
Calhoun placed two of his fingers underneath her jaw and raised it so that their eyes could meet. "Ah, that means you are after me now?" His hands had curled behind her completed encasing her in the process.
Ariana tried to reply but he placed a soft kiss on her forehead that formatted her brains. She blinked trying to remember what she had wanted to say, but nothing came to her lips.
"I am after you two Ariana. I want you more than anything."
The words were so enchanting Ariana raised her eye lids to his face and as they connected she felt a sizzle of electricity flow through her body and like in a fantasy land of their own, their lips met in a beautiful dance of love.
This kiss was different. It wasn't demanding. It was assuring.
It wasn't the sort of kiss that led to raw sex but the kind that brought a warmth to the heart. Ariana felt a thousand butterflies flip around in her lower tommy as Calhoun sucked on her bottom lips.
They lips separated and he rested his head on her forehead.
"I don't know what you do to me Ariana, but you drive me crazy, " he said with his eyes closed. A small smile grew on his lips and he shook his head. "I think I am falling—"
"Sir, I was—"
Ariana pulled away at the sound of another voice in the room but Calhoun pulled her back into himself. She held him tight as she covered her blushed face with his body. She hadn't told Zion about Calhoun and her yet. She didn't know what he would think of her now that he had seen them like this.
"Don't you know you are supposed to knock Zion?" He growled.
"I— I actually did. But no one— I am sorry Sir," Zion stuttered adjusting his glasses. He didn't even know that Ariana was in the office. And to see his boss with her in such a compromising position, it only added to his edginess.
"Leave!" Calhoun added in a stern voice.
"Yes— sir..." He trailed scurrying out of the office.
Zion was long gone but Ariana couldn't bring herself to pull away from Calhoun. Her head still struggled for an answer to give Zion who she knew would attack her the moment she left Calhoun's office.
"I love the feel of your body on mine but my little man is starting to think of other things..." Calhoun whispered and Ariana felt the stiff poke on her thigh. She pulled away and Calhoun smiled at her.
"See what you do to me?"
She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ears and moved towards the adjoining door.
"I should head back..." She said running off.
Calhoun wanted to run after her but he knew his body would want something else of which she wasn't ready for yet.
"Thank you..." He whispered as she disappeared behind the door.
Ariana heard him but her heart was beating so fast with excitement she couldn't go back. She didn't trust herself. She was drowning with excitement. Was that even possible?
She pulled the door closed and turned to walk to her table but the sight in front of her made her stop.
"What was that about?" Zion muttered in front of her.
