Chapter 61

Author's Pov:

The ward floor is absolutely devoid of any sounds, you could only hear the beeping sounds of the machine that are attached to her body, where she laid there without moving -- motionlessly.

With her pale face she almost looked dead, Almost!

Soon the silence around the place was broken by the approaching footsteps of a nurse who came back to check on the patient. As the nurse came to do her work there in the corner of ward room you could see a shadow sitting on the couch - the cause of her miserable life.

Arjun booked the entire floor for her privacy, he didn't wanted anyone to disturb his little wife. He's afraid they will harm her but truth to be told he's one who was suffocating her with his cage which he named it has love.

As the nurse attends his wife, he sat there gawking at her with his arms crossed without showing any expressions on his face. He was so hard to read, he looked so calm yet anyone could sense the danger that was radiating under him.

Maybe outside he was stoic but inside only he knows how he was buring with rage and many more emotions that are running through his body which almost made it hard for him to breathe, only he knows how fucking useless he feels right now.

He was too stunned and overwhelmed with emotions when he was told that his wife was in coma, due to her fall that she went to her shock mode. The sudden impact of that made her brain shut down and go to vegetative state.

Arjun sighed he couldn't able to see her in that helpless state with traction and tubes sticking out. He ordered them to bring her back to normal at any cost.

He even threatened them but her doctors replied him saying it was only in her hands if she wants to wake up because her body was not responding to any of the treatment.

Her body it's fully refusing to get healed. It's like she doesn't want to wake up.

It has been weeks and yet he don't know what or how to feel. Her parents are devastated when they got to know about it, both of their parents were but he didn't let them near her. Even in this state he didn't allowed them near her.

Her parents got to know the real him by her friends. They cursed him even fought with him but he didn't cared them, not now.

Not when his wife was in coma. He took care of them right now his undivided attentions are on his wife, until she come back from her coma state she's all in his mind. As if she's not before but that's different case.

She was alive and active but now.

Arjun shook his head to clear his head but as he do, all he could think about was that fateful day which turned his life upside down.

When that doctor said his wife was out of danger he was on cloud nines, out of happiness he was even ready to apologise for his rude behavior but before he could open his mouth the doctor utter something that crushed his soul.

Their son died!

They told him the reason when she fall on her stomach the impact was so hard and his son died while he was inside her stomach due to internal bleeding.

Nine months! Nine fucking months...!! He imagined so many things..!! Like how to spoil his son or daughter..!! Like how he owed to protect him..!! He dreamt of it...!! Every single moments he lived for it yet here he was.

Without his son!

He couldn't protect him!

Yes, at one point he wanted his wife he didn't cared about his child.

If he would have given a chance to save lives, he would gladly choose his wife's life every single time. Just like how he felt happy when he was told that his wife is alive and he lost his son.

He was more than relieved thinking his wife was here with him because if not this child he would have make another one with her.

Cruel? Yes, that he is.

He's so selfish to even think like that but at the moment all he cared about was his wife.

Since the moment he laid his eyes on her, she's all he thinks about. She became his breathe without even knowing.

He only needs her to be safe that's all the matter to him because without her he couldn't imagine his life alone.

All alone! He shakes his head to clear his thoughts. He couldn't even imagine that.

But when the doctor said that she went to coma his world stopped. His breathing got struck he couldn't decipher want he felt at that moment but he was glad atleast she was alive.

But as the days past it tormented him to see her like this and it also suffocated him because he was almost ok with his son being dead. His stone heart clenched every time he thinks about that day and it's making him hate himself for even thinking like that.

Did he became that cruel? Yes!

What would have happened if his son was alive and his wife was dead? He closed his eyes in frustration. He don't even wanted to think about that.

Because he knows the answer, he would have simply blamed the child for his sins.

He cursed at under his breathe while running his hand through his hair when his thoughts getting wild. Not in a saint way.

This is why he needs his wife back. He fucking can't take it anymore it's almost killing him.

He fucking hate the helplessness he was feeling at that moment. He wants her to open her eyes. He wants her to look in his eyes and tell him it's alright.

And it's ok to feel like that.

He looked at her, it was so upsetting and frustrating to see someone they love in a coma, and he feel so scared and helpless. His heart breaks while seeing her state- Ryles tube in her nose, a catheter, a traction and some bandages on her hand and knees.

He couldn't able to see her in this hospital attire, so he ordered her doctors to shift her to their home so he would take care for her and would assign best doctors and nurse to look after her.

When he demanded this, doctors became clueless on how they would maintain her hygiene and prevent bedsores. Or, given that she was under on traction, how much should they crank up the bed to make her upright given that her femur had been dislocated.

Even if they explained everything to him that hospital is good for her health but he wasn't buying it. He simply stated he needs her in his home asap so they did what they could for time being.

So the next several hours were really very tense and busy. The doctor told him what equipment he would need and used at their house for her treatment.

And he simply gave him card to his assistant to buy whatever they want to treat her.

Prior to this, he hadn't even known what such equipment looked like, why they were needed, and how they were used. There was no time to find out about other suppliers or compare quotes or brands; He just wants the best for his wife.

He needed them asap so he ordered his staffs to get these things right away, and the doctors were extremely relieved that the supplier they had needed was here in no time.

Soon, his wife was shifted to their home much to his relief. A nurse gave him some detailed and practical advice on how to handle the actual hygiene part, cleaning up soiled parts, changing sheets, clothes, etc., positioning pillows and so on.

All the while his lingering gaze was on her as he stood there listening to whatever the nurse was uttering at him.

After all the arrangements the nurse and doctor left him alone with his life. He was hesitated- first time he was being hesitant towards his wife. An unknown emotion ran through his body.

What is this? A guilt?

It does not occur till he saw her on her death bed. He has seen her admitted his hospital because of his torturous ways but this was different — which means that this moment of him was terrifying.

All those times her fear and crys excites him but now her vegetative state was quite terrifying.

Once nearing her bed, he looked at her unmoving form — she is physically restrained and cannot move, the state he always loved on her but now he hates with all of his heart.

He will do anything to bring her back.

Just anything.

He just needs her that's all matters.

He sat down next to her in the bed holding her hands on his, squeezing it "I'm with you, little one" this sentence alone indicates how desperate he was for her.

"Wake up soon, love"
