I watched as Achilles slept before searching out the doctor. I sighed in relief when I found her, I was getting confused with the halls. I waited until she was done speaking with someone before gently tapping her shoulder. She spun around and smiled softly at me.
"The test results came back, she's not pregnant." She stated.
I grinned, "Thank goddess. Um...when can Achilles return home?"
"By the end of today, we just need you to sign the release forms."
I nodded and followed her to the front desk, once the forms were signed I walked into Achilles' room. He was still sleeping, but was whimpering and flinching. I hesitantly walked over and carefully placed my hand on the side of his face, praying he wouldn't freak out.
He relaxed under my touch, the whimpering ended as well. I pulled up a chair and sat beside the bed, not wanting to disturb him. After only a few minutes I asked a nurse if she could bring in my son.
A few moments passed before she walked in with my son, who was sleeping as well. I chuckled softly, both of my boys seem to like sleep.
"Can I see him?"
I snapped my head up to see Achilles staring at me. His eyes held awe as he watched me hold our son. I smiled and nodded.
"Of course." I voiced.
I gently handed him Achilles Jr., the look of love on Achilles' face had warmth spread through my heart. I sat back down and just watched him, happiness was the only thing I felt. Achilles' smile grew bigger as our son woke up and laughed.
He kept tickling him gently and playing with his feet and hands. Our son giggled at his father, his eyes bright with wonderment and joy. Achilles' eyes mirrored his enjoyment and love.
After a while he got dressed, ready to leave the hospital. Our day got even better when the doctor told us we could bring our son home as well.
I was beyond excited, I mind-linked Melissa if she could bring the carrier before we left. It only took her ten minutes to run here in wolf form, carrying the baby carrier with her. I laughed at the sight, but thanked her.
Once our son was ready I carried him outside while Achilles held my other hand.
I glanced at him, noticing the relaxed look on his face. I could still see the guilt and pain, but I know that will take time to change. I quickly looked away when his eyes shifted to me, out of the corner of my eye I could see him smirking.
"I saw that." He whispered.
My cheeks heated up, "No, you didn't."
He chuckled, "I did, but we can say I didn't."
He suddenly bent down and kissed my temple. I froze and looked up at him, my eyes wide with shock. He stared at me with sorrow and love, but there were sparks of amazement.
"You never cease to amaze me, which I guess is why I keep falling in love with you all over again." He murmured.
I smiled, "I keep falling in love with you every second."
He grinned, this time the smile reaching his eyes. I had my own tears as I saw that happiness return, that light in his eyes that I've missed so much. I could tell he was still struggling with something, but I shrugged it off. When he's ready, he'll tell me.
He glanced at my lips then back at my eyes, without any hesitation he leaned down and planted his lips to mine. I was still for a few seconds before going along with the kiss. When we parted I had tear filled eyes.
"Does this mean you're feeling better?" I whispered.
He nodded, "Much."
"Good, seeing you like you were..." I trailed off as my voice cracked.
"I know, I'm getting through it though. I thought over a lot last night and...I'm still getting through that wall that isn't allowing me to tell you everything. But I...I know I shouldn't feel guilty anymore. I'm tired of feeling depressed and withdrawn. It's not fun."
"I know it isn't, but like I've said before-
"We're getting through this together." He smiled, cutting me off.
I grinned and kissed him again, "Now, let's get home so my two boys can take a nap."
"Two boys? I am a man." Achilles argued.
I rolled my eyes, "Oh yeah, you're definitely feeling better."
"Achilles, go to bed." I ordered as he sat on our bed.
"But I want you to be in the bed too." He pouted.
I sighed, "I have to take care of the pack, I've already had enough rest as it is. But you need more rest, so rest."
He frowned, but sighed in defeat and laid down. I grinned, he's such a pain in my ass, but I love this side of him. The fun and loving side, I haven't really seen his full blown angry side, but I don't want to. I walked over and kissed him on the head, but he moved so I kissed him on the lips. I smiled against our kiss as he kissed me back.
"Now, sleep." I whispered before leaving.
I walked down to his office, running my hand through my hair. To be completely honest I was worn out, but I left Reese with all of the responsibilities of taking care of the pack. He did tell me to stay with Achilles as long I needed to, but I didn't feel right not taking care of the pack when I'm the Luna.
I walked into Achilles' office and sat down in the chair before grabbing the first stack of paperwork. I frowned, more people wanting to join the pack. Four rogues and two pack transfers. I read through each document, I frowned at the third rogue's information.
I know this name, an Alpha a few states away sent an email telling all packs about this man. He was exiled from his pack for murdering his mother and mate. I shook my head, I couldn't grasp the idea of killing your mate. How could someone do that? I could careless about Jason, but if I lose Achilles I don't know what I would do. I mean, of course I would stay and care for our son, but I would never be able to love another man.
I snapped my head up as the office door swung open, revealing Achilles. He silently walked in, closed the door, and then looked at me. A smirk made its way onto his face as he walked over.
"I like how you look in my chair, but you have circles under your eyes. You need to sleep." He said, standing beside me.
He folded his arms over his chest as he gave me a stern yet concerned look. I bit my lip, my eyes shifted to the paperwork that someone had to do. I definitely wasn't letting Reese do it, the last time I did he almost started a war between some pack in Pennsylvania. He so nicely replied to the document that Alpha sent with, "Deeze nuts."
I sighed in defeat, "But someone has to get this done."
"It can wait, I don't want you working yourself past the point of exhaustion." He argued.
"Okay, well, I'm not even exhausted so-
"Iris, I could feel your exhaustion through the bond. Come on, you've done enough." He stated, gently grabbing my arm.
I didn't argue, I was exhausted and I know arguing with a concerned Achilles is useless. He suddenly turned around and picked me up. When we reached our room he laid with me in the bed. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to his chest.
"Now, go to bed." He whispered.
I smiled and kissed him on the neck, "Yes, Alpha."
I could feel him smile against my neck, "Better be respecting me."
I couldn't help but laugh, "Excuse me, what do you say to me?"
"Better be respecting me, my little Luna." He said, looking at me.
I chuckled again and kissed him on the nose, "Go to bed." I chirped.
He rolled his eyes and laughed as we both cuddled against each other.
"I love you, my pain in the ass Alpha." I whispered against him.
He kissed me on my head, "And I love you too, my spitfire of a Luna."
