Chapter 47

Avery's POV.

I headed down to Leilani's quarter to deliver the great news to her.

As I entered the servants quarters, the eldest maid hurried to me and greeted.

"Good evening,Luna Avery."

"Evening ma'am, please what about Leilani?" I asked,looking around.

There was an amused expression on her face. I guess she's probably wondering why I am asking of her.

"She's in the garden."

I thanked her for the information and headed to the garden.

"Leilani?"

I called out to the shadow bent over a flower.

She turned around swiftly and looked back at me.

"My Luna." She called excitedly.

"Hey Leilani...ready to move in with me?" I asked.

"OMG! Did they accept me?" She asked, excitedly.

"Well...they didn't have much of a choice." I muttered and she left out a chuckle.

"I'm super excited to be with you,assist you and help you."

"Yeah...me too Leilani. Go grab some important stuff you own and come meet me, I've asked the other servants to prepare your room."

Everything was going as planned and I prayed earnestly to the goddess to keep things that way. Deep in my mind, I know misconceptions and troubles would arise but I pray to overcome them.

No matter the hurdles, I'll overcome them.

My thoughts wander to Xander but I quickly dispel them trying to focus on something else.

A knock on my door startled me a bit.

I rushed to answer the door with all excitement thinking it was Leilani, but when I opened the door, another face welcomed me.

"Good evening my sweet Luna." Erik greeted me and I nodded disappointment evident in my face.

He noticed it despite my efforts to conceal it,"were you expecting someone else?" He asked with a suspicious look.

He'd been a jealous mate in my past life, I could remember him injuring a guard that passed a flirting comment at my back.

He banned the guard from the pack after torturing him badly.

"Oh..not really, I wasn't just expecting to see you so late in the evening." I said with a feign shyness.

"Are you sure you weren't expecting someone else?" He asked again entering my room without an invitation.

How rude!

"I was actually expecting Leilani, I thought she was the one." I answered honestly and closed the door in almost a bang.

What's he doing here now? I'm not in the mood to put on a pretentious face for a monster like him.

I was hoping Leilani would come and we'll talk deep into the night, but here I am, getting stuck with this man who's bent on making me his Luna.

"Oh..I'm quite surprised by your decisions today Avery, what happened all of a sudden?" He asked taking his seat.

"Nothing. I just thought it's best to know the man I've always admired." I answered in the sweetest voice I thought was best.

"And who's the lucky wolf who'd gotten your attention?" He asked, his voice full of pride.

He knew he's the only wolf I've been close to.

Disgusting!

"That's my secret Erik, so tell me about yourself Erik."

I took a seat facing him, ready to flirt with my ex mate.. "There's nothing that you don't know about me already, you know almost everything"

"Almost everything isn't everything sweetheart...so tell me those you think I don't know."

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat and chuckled. I'm my mind, I'm enjoying his discomfort.

What can I say?

It gives me pleasure and a sense of domination.

"Ask me what you wish to know honey I'll be sincere with you." His voice was sweet.

I can't believe that it was this same voice that ordered my life to be ended.

"Well...let's start from your love life? I'm more interested in that aspect."

My voice was gentle and combining.

I'm good at this Kira.

‘You better be, flirting is my thing.’ She said and I couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle that came out as a sign.

"Am I boring you?" He asked gently.

I gave a smile, "nah,I'm actually waiting for your answer."

"My love life is nothing interesting. I have flings or time passes and that's all, I haven't really been in a committed relationship...I fear getting hurt or hurting another, so I choose to stay off relationship for now, though someone piqued my interest." He ended and I nodded.

I'm sure he's waiting for me to ask who exactly piqued his interest but I'm not in the mood to go into long narration, I want him out of my room as soon as possible.

I hope Leilani comes soon so I'll have a suitable excuse to get rid of him.

"That's interesting...how..."

My statement was interrupted by a light knock on the door.

I gave gratitude to the goddess for the interruption.

Erik's face twisted in a frown but I excused myself to attend to who was at the door.

"Leilani!" I almost shouted.

"Good evening Luna Avery." She greeted me and I let out a small laughter.

"We've greeted already, come on in...let me introduce you to the son of my father's beta."

I dragged her inside despite her silent protest.

Erik looked at her with all the hatred he had in his eyes.

Poor Leilani,this is the second time she'd ruin Erik's plan to be with me.

"Gu..good evening Beta Erik." She stuttered a greeting,but Erik only stared at her.

"Erik, this is my maid. You heard about everything back at the hall during the meeting." I introduced Leilani who was almost shivering at my back.

Erik ignored my introduction and peered hard at Leilani who shrunk behind me.

"Isn't this the same girl that was with you yesterday at the party?" He asked, her eyes fully on Leilani.

"Yes. Yes,she's the one."

"Nice." He muttered but I heard him.

"I'll get going now, congratulations." He muttered and left.

"You can leave my dress now." I told Leilani whose hands were stuck on my dress.

The poor thing was scared of Erik and I wonder why.

"Why are you so scared of him?"

I drag her to sit beside me and begin to question her.

"I don't know, but he resembles someone I know... I don't know if he's the one but he resembled someone I know." She said with a lost look on her face.

"Try and recall Leilani, where did you see him?" I asked eagerly.

"Where I used to work before I ran away from there. A lot of people come there for different purposes. I think I saw him there with another person, but I couldn't see his partner's face. I wouldn't have been able to see him too had he not had he not had sex with one of us." She explained.

"Did he see you?"

I asked immediately, thinking that's probably why he was interested in her.

"No. He didn't see me, I'm sure of it. I was already taken when he came to have a pick."

Erik and women!

His dick can't rest without digging a hole.

He just disgust me, I began to wonder how I fell for him in my last life.

He's an awful human

"Alright. Can you remember what exactly was his purpose?"

Erik wouldn't travel that far just to have a fling or satisfy his hungry loin.

"I'm not really sure if he's the one my Luna, but they came to buy wolves, vampires or even humans that were sold there." She said in a whisper.

"That's interesting. Go on, I'm listening."

There was fear in her eyes but I tried to assure her that everything would be alright.

"Leilani, trust me...whatever you tell me is safe with me, have no fear."

She nodded and continued, "I couldn't say but whenever they bought those creatures, from the little information I gathered, they are used in black magic...uhmmmm like they use them to strengthen themselves or prolong their lifespan."

I was shocked by what she said and I quickly connected it to what Xander told me.

It has to be them, Erik and her evil mother.

"I'm sorry if you find it uncomfortable that I say such a thing about your beta that way. I'm just assuming, it's probably not him, maybe he just resembles the person I saw." She added quickly seeing my surprised face.

"Shhhhhh...it's ok Leilani,I'm not offended at all. Whenever you find something odd going on, you should let me know, remember you're like a sister to me now."

I assured her and her beautiful face broadened with a big smile.

"Enough smiling now, you're hurting your beautiful cheeks."

She smiled harder and I couldn't help but smile with her too. She's such a sweet girl.

I don't know why I'm drawn to her but I have this feeling she's gonna be of great help to me in my mission.

"Time for bed my queen,hope I can call you that?"

"Call me anything you want, I don't mind."

"I know you won't mind but the pack members will."

She said and I burst out laughing.

I can't wait for the sun to rise, I'll spend most of my day in training tomorrow....with Xander.

‘Concentrate Avery, don't flirt with him. You're already tormenting him enough.’ Kira said and went silent.
