Chapter 58

Avery's POV.

Lunch was a quiet one, I kept stealing glances at Leilani every few seconds.

It was at this point that I wish to have the gifts to read minds.

It would have been great had I known what Leilani was thinking about.

A knock sounded at the door.

"The door is open." I shouted and Shannon's awful scent hit me.

Oh God!

What does she want now?

I've not spoken to her for a few days now unless of course we met on casual walks.

Leilani immediately stood up when she was heading towards us.

"Sit down, Leilani." I ordered and she complied.

"Good morning, sis." I greeted her and stood up to hug her.

"Mmmmm, you smell good." She complimented and I heard the honesty in her voice.

"Thank you,love."

"Did you change cream, soap or perfume? I love the way you smell." She asked eagerly.

"Not really, it's all Leilani's handwork."

When I mentioned Leilani, Shannon looked towards her direction with a sneer.

Leilani stood up and greeted her as usual, Shannon ignored her.

"Can I have some, please.." She pleaded.

"Of course but you'll have to ask Leilani, she makes everything. She's very good with nature."

"She's your maid, you can ask her to get it for me."

I shrugged, "it won't harm you if you ask her yourself Shannon."

"Just forget about it, I'll get something nice for myself." She said, clearly not ready to speak with Leilani.

I'll do anything to get her awful smell from her body, it's becoming much and I don't know how she got such a scent from.

It's strange and disturbing to me.

"I'll make something for her, that is..if she'll accept it from me, Luna Avery." Leilani said and Shannon clicked her tongue.

I smiled a thank you to Leilani.

"Do you wanna join us for lunch?" I asked her.

"No thank you. I came to check on you since you're so busy checking on me these days." She said with folded arms.

"I'm sorry sis, I'm just occupied. I'll make it up to you soon." I promised.

"Of course you'll have to. We're going on a picnic next tomorrow, you'll take a break from everything and follow me, is that ok with you?"

She's not giving me much of a choice and I don't wanna say no either.

Perhaps I might find something out during the picnic.

"Alright sis, anything for you."

"I'm expecting the oils, don't forget." She said, giving Leilani a sly look and giving me a peck before heading out.

Sometimes, I have this thought that she's nice but she'll prove me wrong immediately.

What a sister!

"I'm sorry for the way she speaks to you Leilani, she's like that. Please don't take anything personal." I said, taking my seat again.

"It's okay Luna Avery, I'm used to her." She replied calmly and started eating again.

Wow, she has great composure.

She's hardly ever offended.

"I know Xander is your mate but don't worry, I promise not to leak it out." Leilani broke the evening silence as we both sat in the study.

I've thought of talking to her after lunch but things were awkward, then a problem arose with another pack and I have to get ready to address the whole issue tomorrow.

I couldn't concentrate on what I'm doing because of my inability to speak to her about some things I wanted to talk to her about.

"Thank you Leilani, whatever I'm doing is in the best interest of my pack. I mean no harm to anyone." I said with a smile and she nodded.

"Uhmmmmn, there's one more thing I need to tell you."

"What's it?" She asked, raising her head from the book she's studying.

"I have some supernatural powers too and I just discovered them, so I have to practice with them secretly because I don't want anyone to know about their existence yet."

"I know, I've seen you use your telekinesis power sometimes. Don't worry, I have no objections as long as you're safe, my Luna." She said calmly and I stared in surprise.

"WTF!!! How did you know?" I asked with pure surprise evident in my face.

I've used my telekinesis power a few times just as a form of practice.

I never knew she caught me.

What kind of girl is she?

What's she made of?

"Wow, you're wonderful Leilani. Thank you."

And I meant every word, Leilani is like none I've ever seen before.

She's just uniquely different and strange too.

I chuckled in my head at the last sentence, Leilani is indeed strange but cool too.

I wish I'll be able to spend more time with her once I've succeeded in my mission.

Sadness engulfed me at the thought of dying once I'm done with my mission.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

Speaking of strange, Leilani knows when my mood changes.

"Yeah, just a bit tired." I lied.

"You stink at lying my queen." She said and I chuckled.

"Everything would be alright, hopefully Leilani." I added with a bitter smile.

I've solved my issues with Leilani and Xander.

Now it's time to work my style into Erik's life.

"Uhmmm, Leilani?" I called.

"Yes?"

"I need to get close to Erik romantically."

She let out a gasp.

"Why?" She asked.

"Uhmmmm, I need to find out some things."

"Like?"

Curious Leilani is crazy Leilani.

"My parents death, I don't think it's natural." I disclosed.

Though it wasn't the entire truth, but that's one of the reasons.

"Yeah. The Luna's death was cruel and unusual. I'm solidly behind you." She said and it surprised me.

Oh goddess, thank you so much for bringing someone like Leilani into my life.

"Getting romantically involved with him is the only way, he hopes to make me his mate and I'm sure pretending to be in love with him would be the best way to get him."

"Everyone actually thought he'd be your mate but thanks to the goddess for giving you a more worthy mate."

"Yep. I want to act this and make it look real, I know he's lusting after me and even you..."

Leilani gasps interrupted me and I laughed.

"Yeah, he'll have you if you allow him and I won't be surprised if he comes for you."

"Ewww, I'm not interested in such men." She quickly said and I laughed more.

The expression on her face was hilarious.

"I know Leilani, but I'm afraid things might get awkward if I reject him sexually." I voice out my fear.

Erik loves sex like crazy, in my past life...he'd pound me non-stop and I used to love it.

"I can take care of that." Leilani's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"How??" I asked eagerly.

"Did you have Xander's permission?" She asked and I nodded eagerly.

"I used to work with some witches back where I worked before, I can make a portion that would make him sleep once things get heated within the two of you. He'll wake up thinking you two have sex but he won't have a clear detail about how it happened. All you have to do is to chew the leaf I'll be giving you and kiss him with it once he wants to take you." She explained.

I opened my mouth in surprise.

"Can you do that?" I asked, very much surprised.

"Yeah, I did it a lot when I was brought here."

"Wow." Was all I could mutter.

"I always take the seeds with me whenever I get transferred to another place. Luckily I still had some seeds when I ran away, so I planted them here in a section of the garden."

As she explained everything to me, I was all smiles and smiles.

This is probably the best thing ever.

"Get a leaf for me Leilani, I want to pay Erik a visit."

"Should I accompany you?" She asked as she stood up.

"Of course, I'm not intending to make out with him yet...I just want to take precautions." I said and she laughed as she headed to the door.

A wicked smirk appeared on my face.

"Luna Avery?" Leilani called.

"Yes?"

"What if someone overheard us while we were discussing?" There was a worried expression on her face.

"Don't worry, my dad's study room is soundproof." I replied and she had a sigh of relief.

"Run along Leilani, meet me in my room."
