Chapter 80

Erik's POV.

"Why has your mom called us here again?" Shannon asked for the third time since mom asked me to bring her to her fetish room.

The room smells odd and due to their sharp scent of smell, it becomes all worse.

"Shannon, I'm as surprised as you are, I told you I have not the slightest idea why my mom called us here." I explained to her again but she didn't seem convinced, she kept peering at me suspiciously.

Her suspicion is the least of my bother right now...I'm as worried as she is...my worries exceed hers by far. I have so much in my mind that I don't know which to give importance to because they're all important and prominent.

First is the games Avery is playing... In a real sense, that's his problem.. AVERY.. That girl has ruined his plan and made a fool of him. He'd disappointed his mom and played him so well that he didn't suspect anything. How could anyone be so good to play him? He's the master of this game, how did his pawn overthrow him?

"Darn it!" I banged the table behind me, startling Shannon.

"Hey, chill and mind the way you fist things around here, everything seems dangerous to touch...don't trigger any supernatural black powers that would consume both of us, I'm so much in love with life though I don't know about you." She said and scoffed at me.

I rolled my eyes trying to control my anger, ever since she told me that there's a possibility that Avery and Xander might be dating a few weeks ago... I've been angry at practically everything and plus the face that Avery had been playing games with me... It worsened and broke me so much to the extent that I locked myself in the room all those weeks. I don't wish to see anyone... Not even my mate and I'm sure that really hurt her but my whole being had been hurt and I don't wish to vent my anger on her.

She'd bear the brunt enough and to make things better, my mom has traveled for weeks, she'd told me she needs to find answers. Not having her around has ruined everything for me and when she called me today, I was so happy that all I could think of was seeing her again, my mom means everything to me.

"When will she arrive bae, truth be told I'm suffocating here cause I can't breathe fully, you know how sharp our sense of smell is...I can't take this any more, I think I should leave and once she's back...I'll come see her." Shannon explained getting up and I totally understood her but I couldn't allow her to go, mom had warned me to stay and wait for her and I'm not planning on disobeying her for anything, not even for my mate.

"You can't go Shannon, I need you here." I said calmly and she looked down at me with an angry face.

"Did I just hear you tell me that you need me, huh? Did I just hear you vomit trash from your mouth? Erika, you have been avoiding me for weeks, do you care about how I feel? You discard me at will and come for me when you need me...are you so selfish, when will you fully become mine to understand my pain? You're not the only one who feels pain, I feel it too and you can't just ignore mine because you're in some bad mood...you're just a selfish bastard!" She lamented all her anger and I know better than to argue with her.

She's fully prepared for me now, if I say anything that would anger her the more, she might claw me and she's pretty good with her elongated wolf claw... She doesn't care where it lands as long as it draws blood.

"Baby...I'm sorry, I'm really sorry baby...i know am a selfish idiot, I'm just disappointed by the whole shits and the unexpected turn out of Avery's game..she played us baby and it's an embarrassment to me as a man, we're supposed to be in charge of the game and not the other way round...i was highly disappointed by the whole shits that I couldn't think of anything, I couldn't think straight Shannon and I don't want you to be near me because I don't wish to vent my frustration on you. You know I love you." I explained to her standing up to engulf her in a hug.

"You're just been an ass hole Erik, do you know how hurt I was? I felt rejected and alien to you. You don't pick my calls and your door is always locked...stupid jerk!" She grunted the words out hitting my back as well hugged.

That's how she acts, instead of crying like most ladies do...she tends to punch her anger out. She's everything I want in a woman, more than anything I could ever ask for.

"I'm sorry darling, pardon my foolishness okay?" I asked, patting her head.

"Stop patting my head, imp...you won't get such an easy punishment...crazy mate, don't try this shits with me again or I'll go fuck anything wolf." She threatened and I gave a low growl.

"Don't ever try that or I'll kill him." I warned still fuming with jealousy.

"I didn't kill every servant you knack, did I?" She muttered the question,giving my shoulder a bite.

I groan,"that's different honey."

"How's it different, I keep telling you..once we're married that silly attitude ends." She said, deepening the bite.

She has really sharp teeth.

"Of course my lady, I've promised you that I'll stop everything once we're married...you know you're not always available whenever I need some good fuck...we can't risk getting exposed...can we?" I asked with clenched teeth as she began to bite me again.

Yep. That's the punishment I get for being such a jerk...I'm loving the punishment though, it's giving me total pain combined with bliss

We began to get cozy when suddenly I felt my mom's presence,I disengaged from her and she immediately understood that my mom was around.

She's not yet in the room but I feel her, she gave me this ability that I could feel her...an advantage of being a hybrid.

"She's coming?" Shannon asked to be sure

I looked at her and nodded, she immediately take a deep breath and moved away from me a little, no matter what happens I know Shannon would never like my mom fully and I can say the same for my mom, I could tell that she allow my mating with Shannon because she's next in line after Avery's demise and that would make our job easier.

The sudden lightning and a darkness covering the room announced her arrival.

"Welcome mom, how was the journey?" I asked once the dark smokes cleared, the smell it brought with her wasn't so bad but it was bad nevertheless.

"Son...how I've missed you, hope you're good?" She asked coming closer and her voice was raspy and rough, all in all, her voice had changed.

"Welcome ma'am." Shannon greeted her shifting back.

I was surprised by her behavior but when my mom came into view, I got it... Her eyes were pure black and her face was almost pale blue.

"All good?" My mom asked us and I shook my head, I guessed Shannon did the same because she couldn't talk.

"Stay right here, I'll be back." She said and walked away.

I felt Shannon release a huge breath and I smiled.

Yeah... My mom is a witch, what does she expect?

We sat down quietly and waited for her and I'm not surprised that Shannon isn't saying anything. Whenever she's in shock, she'll keep mute.

"So... How's everything?" My mom asked us and we're surprised that she's sitting next to us suddenly.

How did she get here so suddenly?

There's only one logical explanation to the whole thing, she has fortified herself more with blood...everything about black magic always involves blood and more blood.

"All is well mom, how was the journey?" I asked, curious to know what she'd find out.

"Hmmmm, a lot is happening that we're not aware of...Avery is not what we think she is." She explained and my senses became fully alerted.

"What do you mean mom?" I asked her and a smile appeared on her face.

"Avery had been suspicious about us after her parents died unexpectedly. I won't beat around the bush, from what I've gathered, she knows we killed her parents and she's planning on ruining us." My mom blurted out and I could hear the surprise gasps that Shannon let out.

Fuck!

I'm surprised too, what the hell is happening?

How did all these happen?

"What....wha..what do you mean?" Shannon stuttered the question out clearly shaken by what my mom said.

I could feel her heartbeat accelerate and I know mine is beating fast too.

"You heard me girl, your sister knows you're involved in her parents death and she's going to make you pay." She said with a sly smile.

"Oh let me not forget the juicy part...she knows you and Erik are mates and you're planning to kill her to take over her pack...isn't that surprising?" She asked casually and Shannon literally passed out.
