Early the next morning, Jiang Yi set off into the city to look for Tan Jing. She was not a fool. After being rejected twice by Xu Lan, she would not go there again. As if she wanted to have to spend another night at the police station?
First, she went to Tan Jing and Xia Wen’s previous address and tried her best to find out more about the Xia family’s “divine medicine”. In the end, she even managed to find out about where Xia Wen was currently working and that Qiao Mei had given birth to two babies.
Not only did she find out the names of Qiao Mei’s two children, but she also knew their gender and roughly when they were born. There were even people who told her that they could list down the children’s characteristics. However, most of them were just making wild guesses. They were just bragging to people who did not know anything, making it seem as if they were very close to the Xia family. In reality, what they said was all made up.
As for the “divine medicine”, it was not like what He Mei had said about everyone having a bottle. It was one person who had bought everything, but the Xia family should still have some left! It was impossible for them to give away all of such precious medicine!
As the saying went, a man dreaded fame like a pig dreaded being fat! Once piglets grew up, the first one to be killed and eaten would definitely be the biggest and fattest pig. As for humans, once a person gained fame, then the person’s family matters would very quickly be dug up by others and there would be no privacy left at all.
Since Jiang Yi could not find Tan Jing, and Xia Wen was not someone easy to talk to, she could only go and look for Qiao Mei. Qiao Mei was the true owner of that “divine medicine”. It was unlikely that she would leave Jiang Yi in the lurch!
The Tan family was the Xia family’s in-laws after all. If Qiao Mei could even save strangers, then why not Tan Bo?
Jiang Yi arrived at the hospital where Qiao Mei was warded. After searching around for a while, she finally arrived at the main door of the VIP ward. However, she faced the same problem as He Mei.
No one could enter without a confirmation note from the patient.
“Hey kids, please make an exception and let me in. I’m really the Xia family’s in-law and I’m here to pay a visit. It’s very difficult for me to come all the way here, so please let me in,” Jiang Yi said pitifully to the security officers.
The security officers had heard such statements countless times in the past two days. People who wanted to curry favor with the Xia family had arranged for all sorts of people to send gifts and all kinds of delicacies. Xia Zhe refused to meet with any of them and rejected everyone. “Just leave. You must be brought in by one of the family members of the patients in the VIP ward. Otherwise, we definitely can’t let you in,” the security officer said sternly.

“What’s going on outside?” Qiao Mei asked with a frown.
“I’ll go take a look. Don’t move,” Xia Zhe said.
Xia Zhe put down what he was doing and hurriedly walked out. He recognized Jiang Yi immediately. Even though he had not returned to the capital for a long time, he still remembered the in-law who almost ruined the occasion when Xia Wen and Tan Jing got married.
