He was a person who hated any sort of trouble. Also, he did not know how to do things in a roundabout manner and did not understand the intricacies within. Xia Mao also never told Xia Zhe about these trivial matters, worried that he would take action which would affect the family’s plans.
In the ward next door, Qiao Qiang and Xia Jun also heard the commotion, but they chose to ignore it and continued to play chess. The two of them should not need to be concerned about such a small matter. If Xia Zhe still did not take action, the two of them would reprimand him and dish out a proper punishment by asking him to go downstairs to run rounds around the hospital for an entire day.
It would be outrageous if he could not even settle such a small matter!
“Stop making a fuss. What are you doing?” Xia Zhe asked impatiently.
Once Jiang Yi saw Xia Zhe, she immediately quietened down. She quickly stood up and ran to Xia Zhe, saying, “Oh my! You must be Xiao Zhe! We haven’t seen each other for many years. It’s hard to get a chance to see you since you’re always in the army. I’m here to visit your wife! I heard that she has given birth to two babies. What a wonderful thing! Congratulations!”
Xia Zhe glanced at Jiang Yi. He maintained a level of basic politeness and said respectfully, “Thank you for your concern, Auntie. My wife is not in good health now and it’s not convenient for her to see anyone. We appreciate your kindness. Auntie, you should go back first. We’ll talk about it when my wife is feeling better.”
Jiang Yi immediately became unhappy. How could a junior chase an elder away! Was this kind of behavior allowed in the Xia family!
First, Xia He had criticized her, and now Xia Zhe was chasing her out. How could they bully her like this! These people just had some authority and money and possessed the “divine medicine” that others were envious of! What was so great about them! Back then, their family members even came to beg the Tan family to let Tan Jing marry into the family.
“Isn’t it more than half a month since she gave birth? How can she still be unwell? You’re a man and probably don’t know how to take care of a woman. I think it’s better if I go and take a look at her,” Jiang Yi said.
“There are doctors in the hospital, so you don’t have to worry about this. Auntie, you should go home early. It’s getting late, so don’t waste your time here,” Xia Zhe tried to persuade her tactfully again.
Jiang Yi still refused to give up and wanted to barge in, but it was not appropriate for Xia Zhe to have any physical contact with Jiang Yi. Just as the two of them were at a standoff, Feng Hua suddenly walked out of the ward.
“Young Master, Qiao Mei said to let the auntie in for a chat,” Feng Hua said.

Jiang Yi could not help but roll her eyes. It was just a mouthful of chicken soup and not as if it was some amazing treasure! What was so valuable about chicken soup? It was not as if it was made with gold!
She looked around but did not see any strange medicine. The furnishings in the room were very ordinary and nothing stood out at all. If Qiao Mei was really so weak after giving birth, how could she not require that “divine medicine”? This did not make sense!
