Chapter 34
Akirexer looked around to see where the voice was coming from but there were so many people that she couldn't pinpoint the exact location. She felt something warm drip down her cheek. She touched her cheek and got taken aback that she was bleeding.
Akirexer got restless and the people bumping into her weren't making anything easier for her. To stand a better chance of finding her attacker, Akirexer escaped into an alley and lunged to a rooftop. She scanned the area as she listened to the cheerful voices of the citizens below. An infuriating chuckle that seemed to echo all around her exploded in her ears.
Akirexer then recalled a training session with Sharaina in Dark Star. Sharaina made Akirexer sit blindfolded in a forest while she pelted her with berries. This went on for five days straight until one morning, Akirexer concentrated on the gamarax around herself.
She heard Sharaina pick up a berry and toss it at her. Akirexer swiftly dodged it. Not wanting to lose Sharaina's location, Akirexer picked up a pebble and hit the plate containing the berries. It fell splat on the ground.
Akirexer then realized that Sharaina was training her to fight an enemy she couldn't see but hear. Akirexer heard the strange laughter again but louder this time. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"What is this, girl? Don't tell me you are just going to stand there. How pathetic." the disembodied voice sounded.
Akirexer then heard something sharp rip a hole on the roof, and she felt the cement bits brush on her face but it didn't break her concentration. She then felt a painful blade cut her arm but still, she chose not to allow the pain of her bleeding arm distract her.
Akirexer focused her gamarax around and finally spotted the man behind the voice. It was none other than Chisato floating in the air, five blocks away from her. By his movements, she could tell that he was about to attack her again.
Akirexer looked even closer and saw that he was using very thin, almost invincible wires to attack her. She waited until the wires got closer and grabbed some with her bare hands. The sharp pain of the wires was paralyzing, but she had to stay strong.
Refusing to waste any more time, Akirexer pulled the wires with all her might and sent Chisato flying towards her. She then landed a punch to his face, and he fell off the rooftop.
Chisato fired his wires, hooking him to a building, and he then catapulted himself back to the rooftop where he landed softly like a cat. Akirexer tilted her head when she took a closer look at the old man. The wind blew his long white moustache side to side. He stood there grinning at her with his eyes partially closed.
Chisato looked at her bleeding palm staining the ground and smirked. "You held my wires with your bare hands. You are either very daring or stupid. Either way I like you." he said.
"Thanks but you are too old for me. I like my men young."
Chisato spun a wire around. "The Great One wants you out of the picture."
'Steve surely knows that I'm back. I guess that explains why he didn't go to the office.'
"What's this? Spacing out during a fight? How stupid of you." Chisato mocked her.
He spread a dozen wires and sent them over to Akirexer who dodged them, back flipped and her sword appeared in her hand. She had no idea who that vampire was and she wasn't interested to know. All she knew was that it wasn't the time for her to die.
Chisato added a couple more wires, and spread them towards Akirexer but she used her sword to block all of them and cut through them like they were nothing. Chisato tried again but Akirexer cut through them.
"Mm, it appears cutting you directly won't be easy. I guess I have no choice but to smash you to bits!" Chisato exclaimed.
Chisato unleashed over forty wires and tied them to the building where Akirexer was standing. He then proceeded to pull the wires hard and down went the seven-story building. Akirexer tried her best to maintain her balance while the building crumbled. She then leaped down dodging all the falling blocks and broken glass. By the time she got down, everyone below was screaming and running for their lives.
"What the hell is going on?!" Sanuika shouted amidst the stampede.
Akirexer realized that if she didn't do something quick, every person below and in the building was going to die. She dismissed her sword and focused her gamarax on the building in order to keep it up. The building was so heavy and its weight plus her wounds put strain on her. Akirexer felt so overwhelmed that blood started coming out of her eyes, ears and nose. In the midst of the chaos, Sana finally saw Akirexer.
"Sanuika, look it's her! She is the reason the building is falling."
"No wait! Look at her, she isn't trying to kill them but to save them." Sana clarified.
Chisato laughed so hard that tears poured out of his eyes. "Are you trying to be a savior now none pure? You can't hold that building up much longer! I am going to enjoy watching you die."

Rose heard the uproar and went to her window. She could see smoke from afar and wondered what was going on. Mr. Martin walked into her office, and they both stood there staring at the smoke as if they were waiting for it to answer their questions.
The weight of the building forced Akirexer down to her knee. She didn't know how much longer she was going to keep the building up. Her bones ached. Tight knots in her heart made it especially difficult to breathe.
"You are a pitiful sight, girl. Just give up and die." Chisato taunted her.
The building crumbled some more at her shaky gamarax connection but Akirexer refused to give up. She shouted in pain with her hands up in the air, the building glowing red and humans running around her.
Sana and Sanuika landed on her left and right respectfully. They focused their gamarax on the building and with their combined strength, the load was made lighter for Akirexer. Akirexer looked at both of them stunned.
"Don't misunderstand us." Sana bluntly said to Akirexer.
"We just can't stand to see innocent humans die." Sanuika winked at her.
Without a word, Akirexer seized her connection with the building and shifted her eyes to Chisato.
"Oh, how unfortunate. I really thought that you were going to die. Well, such is life." Chisato dramatically sighed. "I might as well just slash – "
"Do you ever shut up?" Akirexer cut him short. "Like do you ever close your mouth?"
Chisato cracked up laughing hard, "I do actually. I am the type who doesn't talk in his sleep." he coyly replied.
"Well, let's put you to sleep then." Akirexer's sword appeared in her hand.
'What? She still has enough gamarax to summon her weapon? She truly is The Great One's sister.' Chisato rubbed his bearded chin.
"You have impressed me. Tell me, what is your name?" he asked her.
"My name is Akirexer." she quickly answered and lunged at him.
Chisato formed a barrier with his wires and balled them up completely concealing himself in a vibrating metallic ball of wire. The closer Akirexer got to it, the more the wires lashed out at her. She dodged and blocked them with her sword and retreated to a safe distance.
"Nothing can penetrate my ball of terror. I have lived over ten centuries because of this ultimate defense mechanism I am proud to call my own." Chisato proudly bragged from inside the ball.
Akirexer recalled how her sword easily cut through the wires. She knew that she wasn't going to be able to get close to the old man as long as he was in there. Akirexer jumped high into the air and threw her sword like a spear with all her might.
The sword penetrated the ball and stabbed Chisato in the chest. His wires blasted into different directions, destroying windows and killing whatever and whoever they hit. Women screamed at the bloody sights of those who were killed.
The force of the sword drove Chisato to the seventh floor of a building and pinned him there. He just hung there unable to pull out the sword pierced deep into his body.
Akirexer suddenly appeared in front of him and held her sword. Her deep soulless eyes frightened him. For a moment, he thought that he was dealing with his Great One. When he was given the mission to kill Akirexer, he did not expect her to be that strong. It was clear from the data that he got that she was a new darkas god and a none pure for that matter.
Why is she so strong? Chisato asked himself as he gazed into Akirexer's eyes.
"Tell me Akirexer, who did you sell your soul to?" he weakly asked her.
Everyone had evacuated the falling building that Sana and Sanuika were holding up. The building was putting strain on the girls, and they reached their limit. When it was clear that no one was around, they cut their connection and down it fell landing with a boom.
Steve was in a traffic jam on his way to the office. He got out of his car and saw the collapse of the building along with everyone. Steve took off his hat in horror as he watched the black mist ahead. Fire trucks raced passed him and headed towards the ruins.
Sana and Sanuika were safe on another rooftop. They stood there in silence watching Akirexer and Chisato. What an interesting sight it was to see Akirexer hanging in midair with her sword plunged into Chisato.
"I sold my soul to the queen of the Darkas gods." Akirexer boldly answered Chisato.
"Queen Sharaina?" he gasped. "Well that explains everything." muttering to himself. "In that case Akirexer, I absolutely can't let you live."
Chisato sprang out wires and tied Akirexer from the shoulders to the ankles in a tight flesh digging grip. The wires cut through her clothes and wounded her terribly like gigantic razor blades. Chisato made the grip tighter and tighter.
He was determined to split her up into several pieces. Akirexer moaned at the excruciating pain. She tasted her blood in her mouth and it sickened her. Desperate to escape the deathly grip, Akirexer forced her arms apart and tore her way out. She then punched Chisato in the face and he burst through the building and hit another.
Chisato plummeted down, blacking in and out of consciousness. Akirexer, who was falling with him, grabbed him by neck and gave him another punch to the face that sent him into the ground – creating a huge hole. Chisato laid in there motionless with his eyes wide open.
Akirexer landed beside him and loosely held her sword. It disappeared and turned back into her dragon mark before Chisato's eyes. Chisato started laughing uncontrollably.
"In all my years of fighting, this is the first time a none pure has defeated me." he turned his head to Akirexer who was scowling at him, "Aren't you going to finish me off?" he snorted.
"No, I am only keeping you alive so that you send a message. Tell your so called Great One that I am coming." Akirexer staggered away, leaving Chisato alone.

"Wow she is amazing." Sanuika said.
"Perhaps that's why the queen is interested in her." Sana added. "Come on, we have to report this to Waxx." She ended and they both launched up.

"Wow old man, you really went down." Leonardo mocked Chisato as he squat down beside him.
"You failed your mission and The Great One knows about it." Fahran cast his shadow upon Chisato. "You know what this means, don't you?" he lit up a cigarette and Leonardo laughed.
"What a humiliating death. Not only did I get weakened by a none pure but now I am to be killed by lesser ranked vampires." Chisato laughed to himself.
Fahran dropped his cigarette on Chisato and snapped his fingers. The cigarette turned into a ball of fire and engulfed Chisato. Fahran and Leonardo walked away as Chisato screamed. They got into a black Range Rover with tinted windows and drove off. Chisato's screams died out as the fire grew bigger.
