Chapter 36
Sheila walked into the house through the front door and ended up in the living room. Daisy hid on the other side of the room behind a couch. The hair behind her neck stood up. Her heart was beating so fast that she was afraid the vampire would hear it.
She held a pistol close to her chest and closed her eyes as she listened to Sheila's footsteps draw closer and closer. Suddenly the sound of the footsteps stopped. Daisy swallowed hard and took a look. She saw Sheila standing still with an emotionless and lifeless gaze in her eyes staring into space.
Daisy looked away and tightened her hold on the gun. She took a deep breath and to her horror, the couch suddenly went flying out the window. Daisy screamed and pointed her gun at Sheila who just looked at her with cold eyes. Daisy took out the safety and was shaking so much that she could barely aim.
Sheila knelt down in front of her and gently held the gun. She pulled it towards herself and helped Daisy point the gun to her forehead. Sheila saw the hesitation in Daisy's eyes and she pulled the gun closer to her forehead.
"Aren't you afraid of me? Pull the trigger and save your life." Sheila bluntly dared to Daisy. "Pull the trigger."
Daisy swallowed hard, closed her eyes and pulled the trigger. She heard nothing and opened her eyes. Her eyes met Sheila's soulless yellow eyes and she screamed. She pulled the trigger again but nothing happened.
Daisy grabbed the gun that was out of bullets!
Sheila slapped the gun out of Daisy's hand. Daisy got up and tried to run but her hair was pulled. Sheila slapped her hard with the back of her hand and Daisy fell to the floor with a bleeding lip. She tried to crawl away but Sheila pulled her leg, got hold of her neck and got her fangs ready.
Daisy felt the piercing fangs sink into her flesh. Her warm blood trickled down to her chest while Syhe screamed with everything she had and Waxx heard her. He tried to go after her but Sean blocked him with waves of lava.
Daisy's tears flowed down her cheeks. Her body weakened, her life drained away and everything was fading to the black. Daisy wept at never seeing Bruce again. All their happy moments flashed before her eyes. Just like her soul, his smile vanished before her reach.
It was the end.
Daisy was about to black out when she saw Maradina in her pajamas aiming an arrow at Sheila. Sheila hissed and tossed Daisy aside. Maradina let go of the arrow and Sheila dodged it. She thrust herself at Maradina but she ducked down and shot more arrows at Sheila. Only two of her arrows hit Sheila's back and she hissed. Sheila crawled up the walls like a spider and knelt upside down on the ceiling.
She smiled and licked Daisy's blood off her cherry lips. Sheila opened her mouth and Maradina grabbed Daisy. She jumped out the window right before Sheila gave a sharp sonic scream. It blew everything out of the room, ripping a hole through the roof.
Maradina laid Daisy on the ground. Sheila jumped out of the building and joined Maradina outside.
"Surrender and come with us." Sheila boldly said to Maradina.

Akirexer staggered through the dark alleys of the city. She felt her knees getting weaker and weaker until she forced herself to sit down next to a trash bin. She had lost a lot of gamarax in her fight with Chisato that it left her vulnerable.
A stray puppy whimpered at her from the shadows. A can rolled into a street light ray and Akirexer tilted her head at the dark eyes emerging into the light. The puppy was a brown mongrel. Its visible ribs told its sad tale of starvation.
The malnourished puppy bravely approached her with its tail in between its legs. Akirexer gave it a gentle pat on its head. It returned her affection with a lick of gratitude and friendship. Akirexer weakly smiled at it. Her eyes held love for the poor thing. For a moment, she did not feel lonely anymore.
"Wow you really did a number on yourself." A voice sounded.
Akirexer gasped, "My queen, is that you?" she asked, bewildered.
"Who else would it be?" Sharaina asked her back.
"Where are you?" Akirexer crawled on her knees looking left, right, up and down. The puppy did the same even though it had no clue of what was happening.
"I am in my castle." Sharaina replied.
"How come you can see me? How I'm I able to hear you?" Akirexer tried to get up but her numb legs refused to cooperate.
"You and I have a contract remember? We are bound together therefore I can communicate telepathically with you. I am also able to feel your pain. You really got yourself beat." Sharaina explained, her voice bared sympathy.
Akirexer held a cut on her hand. "The vampire was strong. I never knew that there are vampires as strong as that one."
"Well, not all vampires are weak. Powerful vampires do exist. You can't honestly always have easy prey. This is why you need to get stronger, Akirexer."
"Teach me, please. I want to train with you again." Akirexer humbly requested.
"The time for me to train you again hasn't come yet." Sharaina's voice went faint.
"Sharaina! Don't go, I still want to talk to you!"
But it was of no use. Akirexer could no longer feel Sharaina's presence. If it wasn't for the puppy biting on her cloak, she would have had to bear the feeling of being alone.
"I knew it was you." a familiar voice sounded behind Akirexer.
Little drops of rain began to fall. Akirexer heard the sound of an umbrella opening and what followed next were the sounds of rain drops bouncing off of it. She gingerly shielded the frightened puppy in her torn up cloak. Akirexer then got hold of the wall and pulled herself up. With her back still turned, she weakly faced the sky and felt the rain on her face.
"What are you doing here Rose?" she asked, her voice calm but yet possessed no life.
"I was putting gas in my car when I overheard a homeless man say he saw an injured maroon haired woman. I took it upon myself to take a look and see." Rose took a step forward.
"Don't come any closer." Akirexer ordered and she halted. "Go home to your son Rose. You shouldn't be in places like this especially this time of the night. You wouldn't want to end up dead now would you?" Akirexer coughed painfully and patted the whimpering dog.
"Come with me, please. I want to take you to a doctor." Rose took another step closer.
"I thought I told you to stay back." Akirexer reminded her but Rose ignored her and got closer. The next thing Akirexer knew was that she was face to face with Rose and under the protection of her umbrella.
"Why won't you let me help you?" Rose dropped her tears, tossed her umbrella aside and furiously grabbed Akirexer by her collar. "Why do you push me away? I know I messed up but come on that was years ago! You have no idea of how sorry I am! You don't even know how much I suffered when I thought you died!" Rose screamed at Akirexer.
Akirexer scoffed, "But I did die Rose. The Whitney you knew died and what you see is a different person. I'm a whole new being."
"So you're truly a vampire?" Rose studied her face with watery eyes.
"Sticking around me will bring you nothing but trouble." Akirexer brushed off her question.
The rain got heavier and it soaked Akirexer and Rose to the bone. Akirexer weakly pulled away from Rose and staggered away while Rose helplessly watched. She wondered where she was going in her condition.
Akirexer's words kept replaying in her mind like a broken record. Rose faced down, rubbed her hand and bit her lower lip. Even though the rain was heavy, she could still feel the warmth of her tears.
Akirexer suddenly collapsed into a puddle of water. Rose ran after her and turned her over. The puppy escaped uninjured but didn't stray too far. It sat away and looked on, almost as if it was concerned.
"Whitney, wake up!" Rose smacked Akirexer in the face but her efforts were fruitless.
Akirexer was still breathing to Rose's relief. It was at that moment that Rose decided to help her whether she liked it or not. She had to make it up to her. After all, she loved her. Nothing else mattered.
The puppy sniffed Akirexer and Rose tucked her lips in thought. Akirexer was always a dog lover. It wasn't strange to her that she displayed attachment to the puppy.
