~Vanessa~
"So, are we going to go on a run?" I asked, trying my hardest to hide my excitement.
Hillery just cleared me to run, shift, train, and so on. My ribs were fully healed and I was wired for sound; Veloces gave me an amused look. He then smirked and kept on walking.
"No." he stated.
I gaped at him, "Are you serious? Veloces, I'm-
"Better hurry up!" he yelled before shifting and taking off.
"You're so dead!" I mind-linked him as I shifted and ran.
We raced each other through the forest, snapping at each others' tails. I let out a howl of excitement, beyond happy that I'm finally allowed to get all this energy out and to stretch my muscles. I admired Veloces' wolf, he was hot as hell. Which is weird when a human hears it, but to us werewolves, it's completely normal. We have to be attracted to both sides, don't we?
I quickly shoved him into a tree, causing him to lose his balance as he fell. I barked joyfully, I then pushed myself forward. I darted through the bushes, thorns, and whatever else you find in a forest. I then stopped when I reached a cliff that hung over the water. I shifted back and peered over the egde of it before sitting down.
"It's nice here, isn't it?"
I turned to see Veloces walking over before turning my attention back to the scene in fron of me. I simply nodded, admiring the beauty. Veloces sat beside me and wrapped his arm around my waist, he then pulled me close and kissed me.
"I usually come here if I want to relax or I'm upset." he admitted, his voice low.
I looked at him, a thought crossing my mind. "Did you come here after I-
"Left?" he asked, cutting me off. "Yeah, sat here for a straight four hours."
I did't reply, I just stared down at the water. I felt calm sitting here, but also guilty. My thoughts ran wild with questions as to why I never gave him a chance. Veloces gently grabbed my jaw and turned my head so I was looking at him.
"Hey, stop feeling so guilty. I should be the guilty one, I abused you." he said.
I frowned, "Yes, but I never exaclty gave you a chance. I was a bitch to you the whole entire time, I believed those stupid rumors and...and I acted as if you were the worst thing to ever happen to me."
"Vanessa, you have to let that guilt go, you came back. You came back and warned me about Jeremy, didn't you? You stayed with me and you're still with me. This guilt needs to stop, there is nothing for you to feel guilty about."
"I left-
"I know, you left. We've established that, you left. You left and came back, so get over it." he sighed. "Stop beating yourself up over this."
"It's not my fault." I mumbled, pulling away from him.
I stood up and brushed myself off,"Come on, my parents are coming over for dinner soon." I said before shifting and waiting for him.
He kept staring at the ground, but then shook his head and sighed. He shifted, walking up beside me. We then took off, running back towards the packhouse. When we reached the packhouse I quickly showered and got dressed. I tried pushing the guilt away, but it still hung over me like a damn cloud. No matter what anyone told me, I'm still feeling guilty.
"You should try telling him how you truly feel." my wolf whispered.
"I did." I replied.
"No, you only told him about 5% of that. Tell him your true feelings."
With that, she blocked me. I sighed, running my hand through my hair. Would that even help me? Goddess, I'm being such a drama queen about this. I stared at myself in the mirror before deciding, I'll tell him how I truly feel about him. If I don't get this guilt to go away then it's going to destroy me and our relationship.
I walked out into the hall, shivering as the cold air smacked me. Damn it, Veloces really needs to get that air fixed. I walked downstairs to see Veloces in the kitchen cooking the food, I hesitated before walking in.
"Do your parents like chicken?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
I smiled, "Yeah, they like chicken."
An awkward silence filled the kitchen as he cooked and I stood there like a creep. I then wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my head against his back. He placed the spatula down then turned around, gently placing his hands on my hips.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled.
"For what?" he asked, pulling me even closer.
"For being such a depressed she-wolf."
He chuckled, "You haven't been depressed, but you've been guilty for a long time and I don't want you doing that to yourself. You mean the world to me and to see you slowly beat yourself up and to feel that guilt through the bond is hurting me. I can't stand seeing you upset."
I hugged him, "You're not angry at me?"
"No, why would I be angry? Babe, you're beating yourself up, my temper isn't going to help that. Besides, you didn't do anything to upset me."
"You sounded angry at the cliff."
"I know and I'm sorry about that. You know me and my temper."
"That you were supposed to get fixed."
"Hey, I'm slowly working on it."
"Veloces."
He sighed, "Okay, I'll get medicine."
"Good."
I smiled and kissed him on the nose, trying my hardest to ignore the guilty feeling. I wanted to tell him how I truly felt about him, but it's like there's a wall there. I can't get through it. I placed the food on the table right as the doorbell sounded, but before I could even open the door my father walked right in.
"Blake, you're supposed to wait!" my mother scolded, smacking him on the back of the head.
He playfully glared at her before grinning, he pulled me into a huge hug and kissed my head. "How's my favorite daughter doing?" he asked.
I laughed, "I'm your only daughter."
"True."
"Hey, mom." I said, hugging her.
She smiled, "So, where's your mate?"
"Ouch! Nessa, the damn stove burned me!" Veloces yelled from my kitchen.
I frowned, "Burning himself for the third time tonight."
I learned another new thing about him today, Veloces is good at cooking...in certain areas. When it comes to actually grabbing the food from the oven, he's always burning himself. Or when he's turning on the stove, he burns himself. He even set a spatula on fire. (A/N I actually did that before...don't judged XD )
I swiftly grabbed the food from the stove and turned it off, I then gave Veloces an annoyed look. He smiled and scratched his head, "Uh...sorry?" he laughed.
I rolled my eyes, "This is why we're getting a cheif."
"I thought you could cook and I'm not bad at it....besides the burning part." he mumbled.
"Well, I can cook deserts mainly, a cheif can do the rest. We already have one."
"She wasn't here today, her grandson's mate had a daughter." he whined.
I rolled my eyes but sat down, along with my parents. Veloces slowly sat in the chair beside me, refusing to look at my mother as she glared at him. I sighed, I knew this was going to be an issue with her. My dad might of forgiven him, but my mom is a whole other story. I started a conversation with them, thankfully my mother took my hint when I flashed her a scowl. She completely ignored Veloces and he didn't even bother to try to talk to her.
After dinner we had desert and it was still a little awkward, Veloces barely talked. My father did start a few small conversations with him, but other than that, he stayed quiet. As we neared the end I finally had enough of it and snapped.
"Mom, you need to stop being cold towards him and Veloces open your damn mouth!" I growled out.
All three stared at me in stunned silence, only a few blinks here and there. I raised an eyebrow, "Really? You're going to give me those looks? I'm going to take a shower."
"Whoa, no you're not!" my mother suddenly spoke, grabbing my elbow. "Fine, I'm sorry, but he-
"I know, I know. I abused her and I'm sorry for that, I'm trying my hardest to be the best mate." Veloces interjected, a pleading look in his eyes.
"Mom, I think he might have an issue with being afraid of rejection. You're really not helping that issue." I mind-linked her.
She frowned and glanced at me before narrowing her eyes. "Fine, I forgive you." she grumbled before grabbing my dad's hand.
She kissed me on the head and gave a forced smile to Veloces, well, at least it's something. After saying goodbye they left and I sighed in relief. Veloces silently stood there.
"Your mother is scary." he chirped, spinning around to clean up dinner.
"You're telling me. She's not the forgiving type either, it'll take her a bit to fully forgive you." I replied, grabbing a few plates.
"Well, at least she's forcing it. I guess it's something."
"Yeah."
We silently did the dishes, lost in our own thoughts. Once we finished I dried my hands, ready to go upstairs and to go to bed. This day has been stressful enough, I just want it to end. Veloces gently grabbed my waist before I could leave, he pressed me up against the wall and started kissing my neck.
"Veloces." I gasped. "A-are you okay?"
"Yeah, just wanted to kiss you." he whispered, bringing his lips to mine.
We kissed for a while, just needing to be near each other and kissing each other. He slowly ran his hands under my shirt and up my stomach. I was panting as he massaged me through my bra. My wolf was anxious for him to continue, but I gently pushed him away.
His eyes were dark with blue specks as he watched me, not even bothering to hide his arousal. I smiled softly and pecked him on the lips.
"Not yet." I murmured.
"Could I at least mark you?" he asked. "We've been together for a while and..."
I frowned, "I don't know, Veloces."
He didn't push me any further, he only followed me as we walked back up to the room. I tried ignoring the fire between my legs, but couldn't. I seemed calm to Veloces, but I've killed him about six times in my head. I closed the door to our room and he quickly grabbed my waist.
"Well...if we're not going to mark then...we could at least make-out." he chirped, kissing my neck once again.
"Do you like kissing my neck or something? I'm pretty sure my lips are up here." I breathed.
He laughed against my skin, making that fire even stronger. "Maybe."
His voice was husky as he pressed himself against me, his friend right against my thigh. I swallowed, my heart hammering against my chest. My wolf was howling, wanting me to let him continue. My skin started to feel like it was on fire as it slowly crawled up my body.
"That's why." I whispered.
"What?" he asked, looking at me.
I looked at him, "What is today's date?" I suddenly asked.
I'm supposed to go into heat on June third, it totally crossed my mind. I snatched my phone and checked the date, frowning. Today was June third. I placed it back on the nightstand, my body started to burn even more.
"You're in heat." Veloces stated.
I rolled my eyes, "Thank you captain obvious."
I whimpered as the heat got even worse, Veloces quickly grabbed me and pulled me against him. I growled, "This isn't the time to try to convince me to have sex with you!"
"I'm not! If you're at least touching your mate it makes some of the pain go away." he replied.
I froze, well, some of the pain is gone. I cuddled closer to him, resting my head on his chest. "You mean...my scent isn't bothering you?"
"No, it is. Which is why I'm going to sleep in the guest room tonight." he replied, kissing me on the head while slowly working his hand up.
"No, you're staying here." I ordered. "And will you control your hand!?"
"Sorry."
"You are such a perv!"
"Am not! I'm a guy who has a mate in heat, don't blame me for getting excited!"
"Well, control your hand."
"What am I supposed to do, but it on a leash?"
I smirked, "Nope, I have a better idea.
Few minutes later...
"Vanessa, get the handcuffs off of me." Veloces growled.
I grinned, dangling the key in my hand. "Nope."
I placed the key on my phone and curled up in the bed. "Good night."
"Fuck you." he snapped.
"No thank you."
He groaned but didn't say anything after that. Oh, how it's fun messing with him.
