"Kane she refuses to eat." Lucas says agitated as he enters the room.

I growl frustrated as I stand up and make my way down the hall, past the stairs, and into the long corridor to where I put her.

Elizabeth Braum and her children, Liza and Ben.

It's been three days since I've been here and since then this woman is testing my thin patience, I could end this quickly but... I want to make things different for the future, I can't simply kill anymore and children no less.

I open the door with a little too much strength and it comes off its hinges as the people in the room jump and gasps towards me. The door is cracked and hanging by a thread in the wall.

I walk into the room and look at the people before me and see fear, they are laced in it yet they try to test my patience with something fucking stupid like food.

"Elizabeth, you eat or I force you." I say simply as I lean against the wall as her children stand protective in front of their mother. "Don't make me force you." I say staring down into her eyes, her eyes tell me she knows I'm serious.

"You will do no such thing!" Her son Ben yells towards me causing me to grin and shrug as I stand off the wall.

I walk towards him and grab him by the neck, so quick if you blinked you probably missed me moving. "I don't take kindly to your tone boy." I spit out with annoyance.

I stare down at Elizabeth as she holds her daughter with terror in her eyes. "Either you do as I say or young Ben here... well.. let's just say he will be having fun with some men here, who really want to meet your family." I say glaring down at the woman.

She nods frantically. "P-please, o-okay, I'm sorry, p-please release my son!" She says tearfully.

Taking a deep breath I close my eyes in annoyance as I release the boy, he falls onto the floor and grips his now red neck, my handprint now visible around his neck, his face pales with blue as he struggles to breathe.

It would be a lot worse for him if he tested me further.

I drag a chair from across the floor and it makes a scratching noise that makes Liza wince at the sound. Sitting down in front of them I lean back and stare straight at Elizabeth, she swallows back her fear and she now has Ben in her grasps, proactively. What a loving mother she is, letting me choke her son.

"I'm tired of playing this game with you, do what I said now or I will do this the hard way." I say, my voice is hard as Dex creeps to the surface, my eyes turning a piercing hard yellow in the poorly lit darkroom.

"He will kill us! Please, he doesn't care about us, just please let us go! " She cries out.

I growl as a warning. "Elizabeth, do you love your children?" I ask.

She nods her head as she holds onto her children who hide their faces in fear or pissing me off even more.

"I can help you and your children Elizabeth, Benjamin needs to be put down, I do not want to harm you but he will die and there is nothing I can do to stop that, nor will I." I say as I signal with my hand towards a guard outside the door.

The guard comes inside and hands me the vial I tracked down before coming here. I hold it in the air to the moonlight as it reflects from the vial, it swirls liquid white with green specks. "This is your freedom." I say as I stare at the liquid. "Take it and you will no longer be mated to Benjamin." I say as I hold out the vial to the woman who watches it intensely.

She looks up to me with desperation and horror as she swallows hard as her children turn and look hopefully towards their mother. "I am sorry Elizabeth." I say truthfully to her as she closes her eyes and breathes out hard.

"This will free you from the 7 and your children will grow up with a mother, this is the only offer I give you." I say as I place the vial into her hand.

I nod towards the guard as he leaves the room and a grim comes into the room with a tray of food.

"Eat before you take it, you have one hour then the offer is off." I say as I stand up and lift the chair back to the desk.

I turn to leave the room before I leave I hear her soft voice speak out.

"I'm not a bad person Alpha Kane, I... I was a prisoner to the bond.. h-he is a monster, my children and I did whatever we could to survive, please understand.." She says softly.

I turn and stare at the frail woman, clutching onto her children. "We all are trying to survive Elizabeth." I nod to the vial. "It will hurt." I say before I turn and leave the room, past the broken door I didn't mean to break.

"Send in Sylvie Aldine." I command a pack warrior as he nods and walks off as I make my way back to the office.

We are currently in one of Larson's shadow safe houses. It has been exactly three days since we arrived here, my people set up camp around the surrounding buildings to stay hidden from the spies of Braum and his followers.

I miss Sora each passing second. My soon-to-be wife and mother of my pup. The only reason I came here was to restore order and stop the killing, the unnecessary bloodshed of fucking Braum.

When I get my hands on him....

A knock at the door pulls me from that dark thought and I call out for them to enter.

"Alpha, Lady Aldine."

I nod dismissing the guard.

"Very nice place, could've been worse, no?" Sylvie says amused.

I snort as I run my fingers through my hair. "Drop the friendlies Aldine, did you get it?" I ask frustrated as my eyes glare at her.

She slumps down into the chair opposite my desk with an ever-growing smirk. "Of course." She says with a snicker as she holds up the blade.

"Real hard to find one of these, after the fall of Axel black it seems the Grinmorte family tried to destroy every single one, which makes me wonder... why does Kane Locus Black want this." She says as she dangles the blade in front of me.

I stare down at her. "That is none of your fucking business." I snarl at her as I bare my teeth at her as a warning.

She shrugs. "Apologies. My family and I are conflicted you see. Once Benjamin Braum is gone one does wonder who will be next."

"Your family are none of my concern Aldine." I say slowly.

"But." I mutter out as she stills in the chair, eyes wide and waiting.

I stand up and walk towards her sitting in the chair without a care in the world but I see underneath that poker face. I stand behind her and bend down, my mouth towards her ear. "If I find out you've drunk from any more humans with me, I will personally drink you dry." I whisper harshly into her ear.

She freezes and I feel her dead heart beat a mile faster. I stand up from the chair. "Did you think I did not know?" I chuckle.

Grabbing the blade I examine it to make sure it is truly the one that I have been looking for. These markings.. ancient language of the Vale, engraved with the family crest, yes.. this is it.
