Control over me
“This is not the time to fight. We have enemies ahead,” Arya said, glaring at both of them. Tension is starting to linger now as both alphas look like they will kill each other any minute now.
But Ace was still grabbing him by the throat “Your brother asked me to save you. I did so because of our history!”
“Calm down. What is happening with you, Ace.” Alpha Kai said, trying to maintain calmness but he is getting irritated each second now.
“You’re too dumb. Your brother is planning to kill us all here. He leads the fowlers to come to us.” Ace blurted out, and even Arya covered her mouth in shock.
Alpha Kai’s brother? That must be his other twin, right? And he must also be Arya’s other mate! Hearing this news shocked her!
She shook her head. “Zef? No, he won’t do that.”
“It’s because of your damn competition with your mate, isn’t it? And you dare involve me and my mate in this?” Ace cursed out. Gosh, I hate seeing him like this. I have to do something to make the mood lighter.
“Ace, calm down,” I said, trying to hold his hand. “This must be a mistake.”
Ace held my hand, clenching his jaw, and he looked down. “I knew it. This explains why it was strange—your brother not even bothering to help you personally.”
His anger was so evident that he looked red. His blood must have been boiling in anger.
I do not blame him. I do not know the whole situation to judge but I’ll be going to try hard and understand Ace. He risked my life and his other men’s life too trying to come here just to get his revenge from the Red Crows and at the same time help his friend…
only to know that his friend’s brother betrayed us...
Gosh, this hurts for him.
Arya still seemed to have faith, as she was not believing the news yet. She’s thinking that this must have been wrong intel of information. or fake news. Alpha Zef could never do this!
Arya glanced at me, wanting to say something or ask for my help, but her mouth seemed to be shut off.
She wanted to explain more and convince Ace beside me, but it looks like he's already made up his mind. I tightened my hold on Ace’s hand, wanting to calm him down.
She breathed deeply, “Fine. We won’t bother you, Lycan King. We’ll go on our own.” She then glanced at me. “I guess this is where we part now.”
I halted. What is she doing? Arya! I shook my head. “Wait! No!” I yelled.
She sighed, her eyes avoiding eye contact with me. “We’ll leave you now.”
Arya then grabbed Alpha Kai’s hand who was looking at Ace with deep thought before he nodded at her.
“Let’s go. They consider us their enemy now.” I heard him saying, grabbing her hand and wanting to leave, but then again, another bullet fired, this time closer, as if it were just beside us.
Silence fell as we watched the retreating figures of the two. I could feel my heart crushed in two, as if I were the one being betrayed.
But I also want to hear Alpha Kai’s explanation, if he ever gets any. I felt like this is some understanding we must fix.
Their friendship would just be a waste if this continued.
But at the same time, Ace and Alpha Kai might end up hurting each other if they keep on facing each other at this rate.
Both are angry, and both wouldn’t let go as it’s in their nature to be proud.
I softly caressed Ace’sanger, cheeks, wanting him to divert his anger and somehow it calmed him down.
“Breath deeply,” I instructed. “Just look at me, Ace.”
“It’s insane how much control you have over me. One hold of your hands to mine and my anger is subsiding,” He said, “I worry if you were not here, I must have already killed everyone in my sight out of anger.”
“No, you are better than that.” I said, I know how much anger issues he have. That is in his nature as the alpha, and I want to change that side of him.
He did as I ordered, leaning in and about to kiss me when suddenly the leaves rustled behind us and we could hear footsteps. Ace’s head snapped to his right and he sniffed the air.
“There are ten of them,” he announced, grabbing me behind him. “Stay behind me. I’ll deal with this.”
“They are rumored to have ingested werewolf and vampire blood for them to have their powers to hunt us,” Ace started to tell me as he waited for them to show up.
I was shocked at what my kind was capable of doing. Their existence wasn’t even announced in the news, so they might have been purposely kept secret by the government.
I understand how it's their way of protecting our kind, but I don’t think hunting them back is the answer.
Ace’s broad shoulders blocked me from seeing what was in front, but I could see from our left that Alpha Kai and Arya had returned.
“They've already surrounded all of us here,” Kai announced.
Ace raised his eyebrows at him and nodded, but didn’t dare to reply. I glanced at Arya, who seemed to be on full alert.
The air around them suddenly changed, and I knew they were preparing to shift to their wolf form.
They howled and instantly shifted right in front of me. I gulped at the upcoming danger we are in.
“I am going to make a diversion. Run as fast as you can.” Kai informed us as soon as he was in his black-furred wolf.
He was big but beside Ace, he was a bit smaller. Ace stood one foot taller than him while Arya, who was in her brown fur, looked smaller to the both of them. She must be an omega….
“What about you?” She asked, not wanting to leave him behind.
“I’ll manage to find you. Always.”
She nodded and Alpha Kai started to lash out at them, going to the woman who was carrying a large gun she aimed it at us.
Ace also started to fight off the rest and I just stood there watching.
I wish I could offer them help and fight back. This is the moment where I regret not taking the training seriously.
I should have at least brought with me some weapons….
But it would be weird to be fighting off my kind. They are humans, and it’s only natural that I should be siding with them.
But strangely, since I am Ace’s mate, I considered myself one of them. I consider myself a werewolf too, so I am siding with the Crimson Pack.
My eyes suddenly got blurry, and I could feel my head getting some headaches.
I could see Arya running to me, but I suddenly fell to the ground. I could feel someone catching me, but I couldn’t tell who it was. I could feel darkness enveloping me until my eyes closed on their own.
