Cellmate
It was only a few seconds when Ace pulled me away from Arya as he said, “Okay, that is enough. I’ll be keeping Arya as my prisoner here and waiting for Kai to show up. I’ll be punishing them.”
As soon as Alpha Ace announced that, I looked at her with pity, “What? Ace! No!”
Just then, Alpha Ace went to Arya, not listening to my pleas, and grabbed her hand, securing it so she wouldn’t be able to escape.
Arya struggled, and I was also pushing him away and trying to force myself between them when suddenly, an arrow went into Ace’s shoulders, letting blood all over it.
I gasped, silence fell for a second before I could feel everything going in slow motion.
I thought they had already finished all of the fowlers, our enemies?
And how could Ace not dodge that?
But judging by a man standing there with his bow and arrow, splattering it around us was making me sick.
Ace growled, howling at the man as he tried to attack the man. His hands managed to put claw marks on the fowler but the fowler was quick to put another arrow on Ace’s shoulders, making him bleed profusely.
My mate’s actions slowed down, and Arya gasped. She must have been also that shocked for them to appear like that without any of us since. Oh no, we have to do something before they take us all out!
Arya paused, and I knew she was trying to mind-link her mate who is nowhere to be seen now. She breathed deeply, wanting to help Ace who was on the ground now, still trying to fight back the arrow. He pulled it from his body, and I could tell his senses had dulled already just from the arrow.
I muttered a curse.
Shit. Ace is too strong for just a mere arrow to slow him down! That arrow had poison too! This must have been the same arrow as the one that hit Alpha Kai from the Red Crows.
“Help him, Gusev!” Arya yelled at the vampire beside me, who seemed to be also struggling on his own. He seemed to be hearing something as he was covering his ear and yelling in frustration.
“Ah!!!” He was throwing his head on the ground, and I could tell the fowlers were doing their tricks again. I glanced to see the human had brought a radio strapped to his waist as he fought Alpha Ace.
Arya was struggling too much, and I curse myself for not being able to help them, for not being strong enough to fight back. I felt cold hands grabbing me and I saw it was one of the fowlers. A woman.
I struggled and fought back, biting her hand to let me get away but she wouldn’t budge, as if all the attacked I hit her were nothing.
“They…are…gettting….her!” Gusev managed to croak out and I saw Arya turn her head in my direction.
I could only feel the surroundings now. I could feel that Arya pushed the woman down and fought her, dragging her hair as she took a metallic piece she was holding. It was a machine gun.
“Ah, you really have a weird friend group here. A vampire, a werewolf, and a human?” She teased and Arya wanted to tear her down, she was about to shift but stopped herself.
Arya would take longer and this woman might grab hold of the momentum and by the time I finished shifting to her wolf, she would have already fired an arrow at her too.
It seemed that Alpha Ace succeeded in destroying the radio that was making Gusev struggle as he was able to help Arya push the woman away.
“Come on, more of them are coming our way. Looks like the one you killed earlier had called them backups.” He informed her, and she gasped, wondering how the hell none of us, not even Lycan King Ace managed to sense them. Not one of us expected this, damn.
I was hoping that her mate, Alpha Kai would appear any second now to help us. Ah, if only I could have been able to fight.
“He’s the Lycan King, right? How about helping him?” The woman suggested, “He’s going to die, and soon, your pack will die too.”
I wanted to hope, but then another woman came in and grabbed me, and I was shocked at everything as she was frozen in a spot. I tried to hit the woman and fought back but the woman put a white cloth on my nose to smell and after a few seconds, I was motionless.

I felt the cold concrete floor, thinking how Ace was too bad to let me sleep on the floor without any pillow on.
I tried to reach out for anything smooth to lay on and when I felt a warm hard thing, I grabbed it and let my head lay on it.
I felt a hand swatting me away and I groaned to complain, “Five more minutes, Ace, can’t you see I am sleeping?”
Silence came, and I wanted to go back to sleep when suddenly, I heard someone calling me.
“Kira?”
The voice did not certainly belong to Ace, so who the hell it is?
Opening my eyes, I sat upright in alert, “Oh my goodness! What a horrible dream!”
My eyes met strange cold gray eyes and I paused, realizing those eyes weren’t Ace’s…
I blinked before screaming, “AH!”
Alpha Kai?
No way, why is he here? Did I sleep with him?
A million thoughts rang in my head, and I couldn’t remember what happened before. I tried to rack my brain if we ever did something. Just thinking about it made my skin crawl in disgust.
This is Arya’s mate for goodness sake!
I shouldn’t dare even think about sleeping with her mate! This would surely break out friendship! I know of girl code, and I would never do something like this! Did someone drug me or did I get too drunk from alcohol?
Ware is not that close and I haven’t even talked to this alpha. He’s too upright and cold and harsh and silent! I see the way he’s treating Arya, and every day, I think about how the hell Arya survived it!
I know that seeing him avoiding his eyes at me or looking at me as if I was a disgusting creature was enough to know that he hates me!
Those piercings on his ears and those tattoos on his neck and arms, damn, I am even scared to be alone in a room with him! But since he’s Arya’s mate, I have to respect him!
He seemed to read all the thoughts running in my head as he rolled his eyes at my reaction, clearly irritated by me, and instantly put his chained hand on my mouth to stop me.
I tried to calm down first before assuming things. And when I finally gathered my thoughts, the first thing I asked was, “What the hell are you doing in my room?”
He looked at me as if I was a strange creature and scoffed, “Ace’s Mate, this is not your room. We are locked up in a cage in a moving vehicle leading to where the fuck these damn fowlers want.”
My mouth formed a tight line, and I was about to scream again when he was fast enough to put his hands on my lips again, “Stop screaming bitch! You’re alerting them! Want us to never be able to escape here?”
