Blood Transfusion
I wanted to see that she was only joking aside, but with the way she suddenly smiled at me, I knew I was wrong. I am done...
Goodness!
“Unless you are a shy mom who does not want to show me your booba?” She asked and I shook my head.
“It’s not that! That looks like it would hurt!” I exclaimed, fully knowing what she would do.
“Oh, this? This precious baby would not hurt you, I promise, she just looks scary. Trust me, if you don't want to continue, we may have to resort to another method and I am afraid that would be more painful.”
More painful? Having no choice, I breathed deeply, deciding to just suck it up.
“What? Okay, seems this one is better!”
“Good, I am glad we have the same thoughts. I don’t want to pull that special weapon of mine and hurt you.” she pouted then pointed at Ace beside me. “And besides, I am sure your husband’s member is much larger than this one yet you were able to let him enter inside you…” she was wiggling her eyebrows at me, and my cheeks reddened at her words.
I just want to get sucked by the ground! This is embarrassing!
Ace, who has been watching quietly by the door has finally made his presence known and stood beside me to show his support.
“What nonsense are you telling her? Try to hurt her and I’ll throw you to the dungeon.” He warned her, and I slightly hit him in the arm.
“Stop that, Ace.”
Corrine chuckled watching us, “Awe, your husband is really endearing, I can see him as very possessive and very protective of you…”
“Stop blabbering and just start the test.” Ace was getting irritated now, I could sense him, but Corrine, the unbothered doctor seems to not mind this...
Corrine was placing the metal near me now and I gulped, “This won’t hurt, I promise,” She tried to reassure me and my hands gripped Ace.
She started to widen my legs and made me pull my pants and gently pulled them. I closed my eyes, waiting for the pain but I felt nothing. I inhaled, taking a deep breath and muttering words of encouragement.
“And done!” Corrine exclaimed, standing straight now and pulling her gloves.
“Oh, is that it?” I asked.
I started to feel calmer now and pulled my legs together.
“Yes, see? I told you, that won’t hurt,” she said. “Wait for a moment, I’ll try to test the sample.” She said and looked at Ace, “Do you have any sterile environment?”
“Sterile?” Ace frowned.
“Yes, a clean room that’s free from any impurities.” She started to explain, “Ah, times like this that I wish that I could bring my lab with me.”
Ace blinked, called for Beta Mark and Mark guided Corrine to the exit.
I was left with Ace in the room, staring at the wall and nervous about the results. Whatever the results may be, I will be accepting my fate.
It took a few hours as Ace was there to accompany me and not get bored.
I could see him making an effort now compared to the last time I saw him.
He’s much gentler at this point, wanting to accommodate any pain I am feeling.
“How are you feeling?” He would ask every now and then amidst the silence and I would reassure him but smile at him.
The door suddenly opened after a while and poker-faced Corrine appeared.
I gulped, waiting for her announcement and my diagnosis. I am afraid what she would say now hold a very important piece of me. It’s either I take the pups or lose them.
Ace seemed to be trying to read her mind but I could see him struggling and failing.
Corrine approached me, clearing her throat, and bit her lip, “Ms. Kira…I just run the tests and the results are out.”
“And?” I asked, completely nervous.
“Well, I found some abnormality in the cell of the child. The baby inside is not well and it seems to be not comfortable in your womb…he can’t breathe properly, hence why you keep on bleeding.”
I gnawed on my teeth, unconsciously rubbing my belly as I breathed deeply.
I am so sorry my child…I fail to nourish you the best you deserve…
“It’s going to be alright.”
I could hear Ace's mind linking me. I glanced at him as his hands gripped my own tightly. He is assuring me, trying to maintain a cold act but I knew better…. he was feeling nervous but his palms were sweaty.
Corrine paused to read my expression. She grimaced as she continued, “And your body is weakening...your blood count is too low for a normal human…you need to have a blood transfusion. But first, anyone here who has the same blood type as you?”
Back at school and when I was younger, I knew I have one of the rarest blood types.
That is why I tried not to get sick often….
I am Blood type AB negative, the rarest of the eight main blood types - just 1% of our donors have it….
“But…where can we find a donor?” I am aware that I am the only human being here…and with one of the rarest blood types, it won’t help at all.
Corrine nodded, “Do not worry, dear. Despite being rare, demand for AB-negative blood is low and we don't struggle to find donors with AB-negative blood.”
Ace cleared his throat, “I will give her my blood.”
Corrine’s eyebrows instantly furrowed at that, “No, as much as I appreciate your care for your mate as a husband, this is a crucial thing taken not lightly. And your blood would only endanger r. We need a real human blood.”
Ace looked at me with a heavy expression. He seemed too sad, desperate to help me but Corrine just rejected him. And being rejected as an alpha is a huge deal.
“I want to donate mine, but I have blood type B positive. Type AB- can receive negative types A, AB, B, and O which is only 18% of the population.
“Oh. So any of those blood types?” Asked Ace, still a bit confused.
Corrine nodded, “Yes. But the safest one is O.”
“How many days left before she gets in a critical state?” Asked Ace again, folding his sleeves as if in deep thought.
“Perhaps a week. That is why we need to find one soon or she’ll die.”
“Got it. That’s easy. I’ll just return and find one.” He suddenly stood up and walked to the door, and I started to panic.
He would certainly go on a rampage! Or kill some humans just to give me blood! I do not want that!
“Ace, no!”
But he ignored my yells after him as he disappeared into the door.
Corrine caressed my hair to relax me, “Shh, Calm down, my dear. Don’t you want your alpha to save you and your child?”
I glared at her. “No, you don’t know him. He would rather kill the whole world just to give me what I want.”
Corrine gaped at that, “Really? Awe, where did you find him, girl? Care to send me the link? I want to find someone like him too.”
