I glared at her. “No, you don’t know him. He would rather kill the whole world just to give me what I want.”

Corrine gaped at that, “Really? Awe, where did you find him, girl? Care to send me the link? I want to find someone like him too.”

I blinked, “You’re still unmarried?”

“Yes, is it not obvious? I’m still single and ready to mingle.” She said, “Everyone around me has found their soulmates while I was busy poking at cadavers. I want to experience the fruit of life too.”

Just then, she leaned in and whispered to me, “Uhm, anyways off topic. But do you happen to know the name of that man who guided me outside?”

I rolled my eyes, as much as Corrine is too unbothered that she’s literally kidnapped in this strange place and forced to take care of me seems like a walk in the park to her.

I felt too tired to deal with my doctor and felt too lethargic as my whole body is still in pain. I am surprised that I still managed to be alive right now.

I did not know the time now that when I woke up, the smell of blood was all over me.

Ace was beside me, waiting for me, “You’re finally awake.”

I instantly hugged him, “You’re here.”

I then looked around at the blood bags laying on an ice bucket casually.

I blinked, “Where did you get those?”

“From the blood bank,” he answered, leaning on the wall as he cross his arms in front of him.

I frowned, knowing what he did to the humans just to get that. “Ace didn’t I-“

“I didn’t kill anyone, Kira. I promise.” He answered before I could even complete my sentence.

I raised my eyebrows at him, “Promise?”

He nodded, “Yes, ask Mark if you want proof.”

“That beta of yours will only take your side. I know that if I ask him, he would lie to me just to save your ass.”

“Haha, you got me there. You know that I would do anything just to save you and our child, right?”

His lips then rested on my cheeks. I closed my eyes, relaxing at his touch.

He then caressed my forehead, checking my temperature, “Good. Your body is stabilizing. How are you feeling?”

“I’m feeling better…I think.” I said.

Corrine sook came with some tubes in her hands as she inserted something in my hand.

“Let me observe you for an hour. See if your body will react to the blood.” She said and side-eyeing Ace beside me.

“If it weren’t for your mate, then we might have still been lost.”

After an hour, I felt better, but I felt needy of Ace.

“Leave us for now,” I ordered Corrine.

She stared at me hesitantly. “But I need to “

“Please.”

Sighing, she stood up, mumbling some words about how she hates to deal with couples and how lonely she feels.

“Just play with Mark or whatever,” I whispered to her, and her eyes instantly lit up and she dashed to the door, not bothering to waste a moment for this chance.

As soon as Corrine left the room, I instantly got my hands on Ace, which surprised him.

“Kira…goodness, what the fuck are you doing?” He cursed, looking at me with lust.

I pulled him closer, feeling like doing it now with him. I do not know what drug Corrine administered to me but whatever it is, it caused me so much sexual drive and I feel spiked and high.

I went in for a kiss and Ace was kissing me back.

He was saying something in between breaths, “Kira, stop this.” Ace was trying not to give in.

“Or else what?” I could see how he was drawing himself back, scared to hurt me.

Ace was breathing heavily, biting his lips, and leaning down to plant a soft kiss on my belly.
