Blood pool
The first thing that came to my mind was what the f*cked. How the hell did a high-ranking official, know of my name? The last time I checked, I may be famous for my father and how things are but it wasn’t that severe.
An elder for goodness sake. I never respected them, just because of formalities, but now that one of them is here, standing in his glory, I was gawking.
But more than that, I was bothered by how he and his members, about ten, were standing behind. Well, I think there’s more of them hiding behind the bushes.
Before I could even reply, he scowled, glaring at the scene in front of us, “Tsk, more work for me.”
He looked like he was referring that it was my fault that I gave him more work, to begin with. Isn’t it their stupid job to fix after a mess?
And right now, the way his eyes glide over me as if I was a pest speaks volumes. As if I was a pest.
“Why are you here?” I managed to ask. I mean, it was not their business when I was banished from the pack, and now they think we needed their help?
He raised his eyebrows, “Oh, a feisty one, you remind me of someone. But I believe I am not the right person to console you first. I believe I need to return to my pack as soon as possible for my mate.”
I am bothered by how cocky and arrogant this elder looks, but more than that it irks me how he treats me like a clueless child.
He then walked ahead to where I left Alpha Fenris and Creed fighting the now out-of-control Wendigo things
“Now that tongs are out of control, I must say that we need to terminate the Wendigo before the other elders come.” He muttered as if I didn’t already know that. He looked like he was asking for my expression. Waiting for me to react, to explode.
I glared at him, “Do whatever you want with them including the other two fighting there for all I care. I am done with them.”
“Are you sure about that?” Suddenly, I saw Alpha Fenris behind me.
I blinked at him, shocked that I wasn’t able to sense him. He was quiet, and a smirk playing on his lips. He finds this funny.
I wondered how the hell was he able to escape from fighting the Wendigo.
“If you are wondering why I am here, just go see your lover boy there.” He pointed in the direction where I left earlier.
The elder, Alpha Kai, heard it and instantly went there. I followed suit, only to be greeted with a pool of blood, but it wasn’t from Creed. Or perhaps from him. I don’t know. All I know was he was sitting on the body of Ceylan, the transformed Wendigo, his eyes closed and which is now considered a corpse. Holding his left arm, and with all scars surrounding his body, Creed was sitting on the corpse with his face lying down.
“He hasn’t moved for a few minutes now.” Alpha Fenris suddenly said from beside me.
“After you left us, he attacked me first, and I saw the passion and determination in his eyes. He had bloodlust. Between the Wendigo and him, I admit that I was much more threatened by him. It was too fast, he seemed to be out of control, and I just left him to deal with the Wendigo alone, thinking it might kill him and make it easier for me to have you but guess that my plan backfired.”
My breath hitched at the sight. For Alpha Fenris to admit that must have been that serious. Even Alpha Kai beside me seemed to not expect this scene in front of us.
Creed wasn't moving, but he seemed to be mumbling something.https://authors.apple.com/support/4574-publish-book-from-web
“What is he saying?” I asked. Instead of abandoning him, I was much more curious to know what the hell happened to Creed.
“Come closer to him and you’ll know what.” That was all Alpha Fenris said.
Normally, I wouldn’t follow his order, but instinctively, my feet drew me closer to the sitting form of Alpha Creed. I maintained a safe distance for me to run, but enough for me to hear his words.
“Nyra. Nyra. Nyra.”
It was faint, but I heard it.
Why the hell is he mumbling my name?
Before I could react, Creed looked up at me, his whole body covered in blood, and in one swift motion, he grabbed me and pulled me to him.
I yelled in surprise, and struggled against him, afraid that he might do something since he seemed to be not himself, but he embraced me.
I froze at his touch. Simply because I found the stench of the blood mixed with his sweat disgusting, but also his hot body.
He seemed to be burning up, and I couldn't understand his body. His plans, him.
“Creed,” I called out, both out of fear and anger.
“Nyra. you’re here. You’re safe..now...I killed that bastard brother for you.” That was all he said before fainting on my arms.
I blinked, “Creed? Hello? Creed!” I yelled, now scared what the hell happened to him? Damn him! After saying those damn words, how would he expect me to react?
“Run.”’
In front of us, I completely forgot the presence of one elder and alpha Fenris watching us.
“What?”
Alpha Kai clicked his tongue, “Didn’t I say it clearly? I said run. Before the other elders see you. I’ll cover this up.”
I couldn’t understand him, “But-“
“I thought you’d be quick to understand, rogue. This criminal right here is the wanted rogue who is being chased by other packs for sacking the other territories. That was my mission, to eliminate the ravager who was in this territory. But I didn’t know that there would also be another problem, the Wendigo. The elders are careful and want to catch him before he finishes all the werewolf race.” The elder explained, “But since you helped me, I have to return the favor and let you loose.”
That was the most strange thing I heard. And I didn’t expect that he would just let us out.
I helped Creed up, he was still in his fainting state. His feet seemed to not have any energy, but I pushed him up until we reached far from the scene. I didn't know what to do, blood rushed to my whole body, and only adrenaline was keeping me running. I didn’t look back and continued until where my feet could lead us. Creed’s blood was trailing behind us, and I knew that this would complicate us. It’s like an invite to the other werewolves that we’re here and weak. Oh gosh, we can’t continue this way.
Plus, it is not a joke to carry a whole 6’3 man behind me despite my incredible strength for a normal she-wolf.
I heard a gush of water and instantly pushed Creed to the water. Under normal circumstances, I promised not to touch him anymore. But since he just came from that battle and is now fainting, I have to just excuse this time.
He was still not waking up even with the cold water brushing past his wounds. I grimaced, seeing the open wounds on his back extending to his shoulders. I wonder how the hell this man managed to be even alive at this point.
“Bastard,” I mumbled to him, hoping he would open his eyes so I could respond to what he said to me. What did he mean I was finally safe?
What? As if he did all those things for me.
The last time I remember, he hated me so much that he didn’t mind Alpha Fenris claiming me as his.
“Come on, I know you are awake, just wake up.” I gritted under my teeth, annoyed. I just can’t bring myself to bathe him and touch his body like nothing happened.
“Oh, you won’t wake up, huh? Fine, I’ll just see for myself.” I said out of spite and instantly slammed my lips to his.
I was surprised when his eyes opened, and leaned in for more.
I bit his lip and pushed him away, “I knew you would wake up!” I wiped my lips and glared at him.
He was silently staring at me, amidst my anger, amidst my furrowed brows, “What?”
“I…missed you.” He mumbled those three words with so much passion, and I looked into his eyes.
My hands reached out to his face, not to caress him, but to slap him so hard just to convey my feelings.
