Let hell be loose
I was rooted to my spot as Alpha Fenris slung his hand over my shoulder. Since my feet were buckled on the ground, I had to stay upright. If it weren’t for his hands, I might have already collapsed earlier.
Fangs were withdrawn, and the blood was shed. The battle is on. I have been waiting for this, to be rescued. And now that Creed is here, I am not even sure if he came for me. Because it seems too good to be true for him to even bother going for me. Because what would he gain from this?
He made sure that I got that point last time.
Ceylan, far ahead, who had lost his pack members, his home, his territory, and most especially his mate, was seething red.
“Creed!” He called out in pain, agony, anger, and so much hatred as he ran to the roof where Creed was waiting.
Creed’s eyes glanced at me for mere seconds, and I couldn’t miss out on the smirk playing on his face. He looks like he would kill anyone, including me.
And it sent me chills down my spine. This is a bad thing. I am not even sure if I am facing the same Creed I know.
Everything was fast before I could even process anything as if time was sped up quicker than usual. I could only follow Ceylan’s actions, his angry growls, his sharp fangs biting on Creed’s neck, and pushing Creed off the roof. I could only stop and watch them from the ground as they dueled, both equal in strength.
However, it seems that Ceylan was blinded by his fury and out of control. While he is in offense, Creed is quietly letting him attack, and as he blocks them all. Not one
“Instead of trampling the weak, why not find someone our size?” I could hear Creed saying. But it seems that Ceylan wasn't listening. He keeps on advancing to him.
Creed sighed and grabbed his head, “This is getting boring. Are you done?”
Looks like Creed was just giving Ceylan a chance all this time because, with one blow, Ceylan was flying off the roof. I could hear his bones cracking, but he stood up still, red angry eyes directed at Creed.
Creed jumped down the roof and grabbed Ceylan by his fur. I almost thought that their fight was over except something unexpected happened.
Ceylan was shaking on the ground. He was having a seizure, his mouth foaming with bubbles, eyes dead shut as he groaned in pain.
Alpha Fenris beside me, chuckled. I stared at him in confusion, wondering what the hell was happening and yet he found the situation funny. He must have gone mad.
“It’s happening.”
“What is happening?” I asked impatiently.
“Your brother..he lost everything, especially his mate. His brain cannot handle the pain of losing everything at once and how he’s turning into something-“
I rolled my eyes, “Oh for fuck’s sake, just tell it!”
“Wendigo, Nyra. Have you heard of that?”
Suddenly, I find myself glancing back at the pitiful figure of the man I hated, Ceylan who was lying lifeless on the ground. He finally stopped shaking, and now his body seems to be growing into something I have never seen.
No way, am I thinking it correctly? Or is Alpha Fenris messing with me?
No way would Ceylan transform into a Wendigo!
As much as I hate him, I had never wished for this to happen.
It was a bizarre thing for me to witness. It was no longer the Ceylan I knew.
I called for Creed who was sensing a few feet away from us as he watched everything silently, “Creed!”
He motioned for me to shut up, and I gulped, feeling hurt.
And that made Alpha Fenris beside me howl, “Wow, are you sure that man came to save you?”
“Why don't you shut your fucking mouth for once?” I snapped at him, not because I hated what he said, but because he was true.
Creed then walked away and looked for Ravena inside the packhouse. A few minutes later he came back with a sleeping Ravena on his shoulders. Without looking at me, he continued walking away, as if he didn’t come to rescue me. As if he did not just break my hope of being saved.
As if he did not break my trust and faith in him.
I sighed, looked at the ground, and let the tears fall.
Damn, this hurt. Damn me for expecting too much from him.
I had thought we had created a bond. Looks like Ravena was much more important to him than me.
“Are you just going to leave her?” It was Alpha Fenris who spoke up, stopping him in his tracks.
Creed spared a glance at me as if it was agonizing to even look at me. “You can have her.”
Alpha Fenris scoffed, then glanced at me, “You heard him, Nyra.”
I raised my eyebrows at Creed, then did something to test him. I grabbed Alpha Fenris by the neck and kissed him.
Alpha Fenris widened his eyes, but then when he realized what I was doing, he smiled through the kiss and pulled me in deeper.
I held eye contact with Creed throughout, and he did not even flinch.
“Seems that you’re both compatible.”
Our conversation was halted as Ceylan, who had been lying lifeless on the ground quickly grabbed my neck. Seems that he finished transforming into a Wendigo. He does not look like a werewolf anymore.
I gasped for air, and Alpha Fenris pushed him off.
“Seems that we have to stop this first. Let’s continue our fight about Nyra later.” And with that, alpha Fenris fought with Ceylan. Ceylan was moving differently and I could only just realize the gap in their power.
Creed scoffed, “You can do the rest. It’s time to wrap up here.” And he continued to walk away.
But Ceylan went after him and pinned him to the ground. Earlier, it seemed that Creed was stronger but now, it looks like he doesn’t stand a chance.”
“You don’t have any chance to escape, not unless we kill him.” Alpha Fenris suggested, and I was shocked to hear him work with Creed.
“I won’t work with the filthy likes like you.” Creed spat out.
“Okay then, fine, I’ll just let Ceylan kill you.” Alpha Fenris said, holding his hand up in surrender.
Creed struggled, trying to fight back, then finally gave up.
“Promise me first that you’ll never interfere with Nyra anymore and let me have her.” Alpa Fenris asked.
Creed scowled, “Oh fuck, bastard, hat topic useless thing again, fine!”
I gritted my teeth, irritated that he was willing to just give me away like that.
Behind Alpha Fenris, I gritted my teeth, “I hope Ceylan kills you, bastard!” I yelled and walked inside the packhouse to leave them.
Gosh, I can’t even handle seeing Creed’s face. I think he should be dead! Fine!
Just then, I heard howling from afar, followed by footsteps and a different scent. It was odd because I did not recognize it.
I instantly returned to the scene and caught both Creed and Alpha Fenris grabbed by the neck by a tall and brooding man who had tattoos all over.
“Are we in a good timing?” His deep voice asked.
I frowned, I had only heard of him from my father, but I had never seen him before. It was Alpha Kai, the elder of the Northwest region. Rumors was it that he once had a twin but then he died….he came with a few underlings with him.
He looked at me, as if he knew me and said, “Nyra…is it?”
