Chapter 20
I felt the darkness pulling on me but was too tired to stop it. Realizing I was bleeding, falling asleep was the last thing I should do but the black nothingness felt comforting.
I could hear Beta Lucas and Willow’s voices in the distance. Opening my eyes, they stood in the light at the end of a long tunnel moving backwards before my eyes are too heavy to keep open.
Cold caressing my skin, feeling myself falling I open my eyes. I’m sliding down an ice burg, landing with my feet and side in icy cold water. Endless water surrounds me, the iceberg I was on now gone. I sit up to see in am now on a small flat rock.
The sound of my blood dripping into the water echoes in the silence.
A white tiger with light grey stripes sits on a rock surrounded by water by me. I reached out to it, its sea blue eyes looking at me intently, or through me as it felt. Laila paced nervously in my mind and the tiger's eyes followed her every move.
The tiger let out a quiet meowing sound before jumping over to where I still lay in a heap half in the water. Licking my hand, its rough tongue pulled at my skin as it moves. With one pass the cut on my hand is healed.
The tiger moved closer, its nose pushing my cheek, in an unspoken understanding I moved allowing it access to my other wounds.
When the last gash was closing the tiger made its way to a sunny spot on the rock and laid down. Pulling myself out of the water I crawled over curling up next to it. Letting its soft melodious purr soothe me back to sleep.
Waking up back in my room at the manor. Laila’s loud snoring was a relief. I went to get up but had no strength to move. All of my limbs felt weighted down. The blankets crushing me, feeling way too heavy. Scanning the room, I found my bed over full. The blankets pinned down as Alpha Colton lay on one side of me and Beta Lucas lay on the other with Willow draped over his chest.
Trying to wiggle my way to the top of the blankets to get out, I could feel bandages covering my body but nothing else. I realized I was naked minus the gauze wrapping around me.
Willow’s eyes fluttered open before her head snapped up. “You’re awake.” She said loudly before shaking Beta Lucas who growled and grumbled at being disturbed. She hoped up kneeing him in the stomach to get over to me.
“What the fuck Willow?” He grunted.
She ignored him completely as she crawled to get between us kicking him off the edge of the bed. He hit the ground with a loud solid thud. Alpha Colton sat up with a jolt at the commotion.
Willow scrambled her way to me and pulled the blankets down to my bellybutton exposing me. She grabbed at the bandages as I struggled and squirmed, swatting her hands away.
A wave of concern and fear crashed into me making me still and give into her.
“It’s coming from him.” Laila said, making me jump as I hadn’t noticed her waking in all the commotion.
“What?” I asked her.
Willow had proceeded to remove a few bandages, making her way down my body her eyes growing wider with each one.
“Alpha Colton. We can feel him, just like I can feel Blaine now.” She told me.
“Gross!” I responded.
Willow’s hands pawing at me brought me back. I could feel Alpha Colton’s concern turn into confusion.
“What?” I asked him.
“You’re healed.” He said plainly.
“Laila has been able to heal me for years now.” I told him.
Alpha Colton’s hand ran across my neck and down my chest sliding between my breasts. My nipples hardened at his touch; blood ran to my cheeks as my face reddened. Responding to his skin on mine, my lips parted letting out a soft moan before a giggle from Willow reminded me, we were not alone.
“Not like this.” He said. Sliding his hand off my body but not before grazing my nipple with his thumb. A mischievous grin on his face as I felt his hunger warming me from the inside out. “Not like this.” He repeated softly.
“You almost died.” Willow said looking back at Beta Lucas. He sat on the floor still, his back against the bed staring at the floor.
“Blaine attacked me?” I asked. Trying to wade through the fog of my memory to remember what had happened.
“No.” Beta Lucas said. “It’s my fault.”
“It’s not your fault.” Alpha Colton told him. “You didn’t know. How could you?”
“Can someone please just tell me what happened?” I asked.
Willow crawled under the covers with me. “Blaine attacked you in the dressing room. You shifted into…” there was a long pause where no one would look at me, “something.” She continued. “By the time we got to you, you had torn a chunk out of his arm. I pulled you out, but Lucas was bent on killing him this time. As soon as he slashed open his chest an identical wound opened in yours. He had torn open his throat before I could stop him.”
The room fell silent, I reached my hand up feeling my neck. My dream about the tiger healing me coming back to me in vivid detail.
“You were at deaths door, even your wolf shouldn’t have been able to heal you. Even if she could, not this fast.” Willow said snuggling closer to me. “We’ve been here for two days just hoping you would wake up.”
At her words my stomach began to growl loudly. My face scrunched in discomfort.
“What is it?” She asked. Popping up, looking more concerned than before.
“I really have to pee.” I told her.
Everyone laughed as I rushed out of bed and into the bathroom.
