No back up
I am sure it is Kai since I could sense his scent nearby. He refused to talk, just staring blankly at me.
He seems to have transformed back from being his black werewolf.
“Are you just going to stand and stare at me the whole day?” I turned to him and his eyes widened.
Did he think he was invisible? Of course, I can see him there.
And if he decided to silently stand and watch me then I would feel it was so creepy.
Especially if I don’t know him.
“You want to say something to me?” I asked him and he opened his mouth but decided against it.
He then quietly walked back to the packhouse and I stood there dumbfounded.
Okay? Did he just come to stare at me and leave?
Damn, Kai is acting weird.
I decided to get back to the packhouse and sigh.
Just thinking about going back here makes me want to run in the opposite direction and meet up with the rest of my clan.
If they are even there, alive and well.
I sighed, seeing Zef waiting for me in front of my room and he turned, seeing I was out.
“You went out?” He asked.
I nodded, “Yes, for a walk. I couldn’t find you so I looked for Amari.” I answered honestly and he nodded.
“That is good. Making friends with anyone here would be impossible.
At least Amari would help you here if I’m busy.” He said.
I sighed, “They hate me.”
He scowled, “No, they are just jealous you are my mate.”
I nodded, he has a point. But this is getting too far. Well, not like I wanted to make friends with any of them.
The least creatures I talk with here, the least I would get attached to and the easier I would escape.
“You were looking for me? Are we going to go anywhere?” I asked in anticipation, wanting to get out of here whenever possible. Even if it's with Zef. Well, he’s the twin the decent twin. The twin is less intimidating.
He shook his head, “No, sorry. Arya, I just came here to say that I would be out on a business trip.”
Business trip?
Zef bit his lip, “Would you be fine on your own? I’m hesitating to leave you here. You know no one except Kai and Amari…”
I nodded, “I’m fine. I am an adult. I can handle myself.”
Saying that out loud felt like I was just comforting myself.
“Or you can come with me.” He suggested and I shook my head.
“It’s really alright, Zef. Don’t mind me.”
He nodded, still a bit unsure, “It would be much more difficult if I take you.”
Zef didn’t stay for long as our conversation was cut off by the alarm on his phone.
“How many days will you be out?”
“Three days.” He said. “Would you be alright here?” He asked again.
I just smiled and nodded.
“If by chance…there might be another incident that will happen involving Kai…go to Amari.” He warned and I nodded.
Another incident? It’s not like it would be another incident that will happen right?
Zef stared at me one last time before saying his goodbyes and left.
I was left again alone. Great.
Amari instantly appeared and bowed at me, “Luna…Alpha sent me. I’ll just be here if you need me.”
I nodded, feeling a bit comforted by this gesture. I guess Amari and I are really going to get closer than ever now.
That would be a bit…alright…I think.
“I’ll come here and get your meal every now and then.” She said and then walked away.
I could see another presence behind me.
It’s this presence again.
This smell.
Kai. Of course, no other than him.
He was leaning on the wall, watching me there silently just like earlier in the woods.
I breathed deeply, fuming mad now.
“Do you have any problem with me, Kai?” I confronted him finally, not wanting this silent creepy stare he gives me.
Kai furrowed his eyebrows, “No.”
I scoffed, “No? Then why are you staring at me like that?”
“Like what?”
I snorted in disgust. “Creepily.”
“If you want to say something, just say something so I could finally enter my room now-“
I was about to grab the knob on my door when his hands grabbed mine. He didn’t even let me finish my words as he pulled me to my door and inside my room.
My back hit the cold hard door behind me as I looked up at him. He was breathing deeply, fuming mad now.
I scowled, why would he even be mad here? In fact, I should be the one who should be angry. How can he think that I would just let him move me like this?
“You saw it.” He mumbled, his deep voice barring.
“Saw what?”
He gritted his teeth, “Monster, just call me that already.”
Still confused, I creased my eyebrows, “Huh? Why would I?”
What is he talking about?
He sighed as he put a space on us. He avoided my gaze, “Last night. You should not be there.”
Oh…was he thinking about that all night? I opened my mouth to say something, “Was this the thing that’s been bugging you?”
He clenched his jaw, “Yes, and now that Zef’s not here, you shouldn’t even be in front of me. You should stay one kilometer away from me.”
Is he…warning me to stay away from him? did he really?
“So you’re concerned about my safety now?” I teased, and he shook his head, denying it.
“Because you trigger me. You make me want to see you, but at the same time it irritates me to see you.” He admitted in a strained voice as if he didn’t want to reveal it….
I didn’t know he was thinking about that..deeply…and I have that effect on him.
I smirked, feeling a bit proud.
Even he was confused about himself and what he wants. Looks like I won’t have any trouble having this twin wrapped around my finger.
Sooner or later, I won’t even have to lift a finger or utter any word for them to have this effect.
My hands reached out to his face as I tried to slowly but surely caress his cheek. There was a hint of a subtle beard, a sign he was just freshly shaved.
I leaned in to whisper in his ears and smirked, “Make up your mind alpha, do you really want me away or do you just really want to see me?”
A strained sound came out from his chest as he cleared his throat. He seems to be fighting an inner battle as he glares at me, “Don’t even try to test my patience. You’ll regret saying that, Arya.”
I scoffed, “Really? Then prove it. You’re just all words-”
Instantly, he pinned me again to the wall, one hand gripping both my arms on top of my head while his other hand stroked my chin. I could feel his hot breath fanning my face but I held still.
“You seem to be acting bratty now…you know my brother is not here…once something happens you won’t have anyone to help you.”
I sucked in a deep breath, “Try me.”
