Sudden Kindess

ARYA’S POV

“Stop!”

I heard a voice from behind me and saw Alpha Kai smirking at me.

Alpha Zef frowned at his twin, “Do you have a concern? Why are you asking me to stop this ceremony?”

Alpha Kai suddenly stepped closer to me and circled me, pacing back and forth, “Well….I want to ask something first, brother.” He paused, looking at his brother challengingly, “You already marked her, yet she is also my mate.”

Everyone gasped, the whole audience was quietly listening to their two alphas, not knowing what to do.

Amari suddenly came and pulled me beside him, just to protect me. “Stay behind me.”

I blinked and watched as the two glared at each other. With eyes glaring at each other, It’s as if they were close to punching each other.

I couldn’t help but feel all the pack members stare at me.

Damn. I know that they already could smell me even from afar that I was already marked, but seeing them blatantly staring at me like that is too….embarrassing. My cheeks flushed, but I focused on the twins in front of me.

“Stay back.” I could hear Alpha Zef’s thoughts on me.

“And what about it? I marked her first so no one could claim her other than me.”

“You seem to be forgetting that we are keeping her as a prisoner here…” Alpha Kai said, glancing at me.

I stood still, not wanting him to see how my heart was racing now.

But then again, I feel a bit happy knowing my plan is working.

They are now fighting for me. good.

“Brother, are you talking with sense now?” Alpha Zef asked, “Kai, do not embarrass yourself further.”

Alpha Kai smirk, “Brother, stop putting on a pretense that you are better than me because we both know that you aren’t.” Alpha Kai then grabbed a spectating pack member, a she-wolf that I do not know the name of, and asked her, “Right? I am right, am I not?”

The she-wolf just nodded, her whole body trembling as she bit her lip. Alpha Kai smiled proudly and then gazed at me. He was about to grab me but Alpha Zef came in between.

“Stop this act, right this instant brother.”

“Or what?” Alpha Kai said daringly.

“Or I’ll have to force you out.” With that, Alpha Kai chuckled deeply, he threw his head back and just sarcastically laughed at his twin. “Brother, you seem to forget that I also have the power over our pack here. Do not act as if you the only alpha.”

He then looked at everyone, “Everyone, I can just hear your thoughts. Tell me, who here has complaints or is not in favor of letting this rogue to our pack?”

He waited for anyone to agree with him and when no one even dared to answer him, Alpha Kai repeated again, this time, more forceful and aggressive. “Everyone, do not be shy. Raise your hand if you are not in favor of welcoming this rogue to our pack?”

Instantly, murmurs from the pack members echoed, and soon enough, they glanced at each other and raised their hands in unison. I could see that it was almost everyone, except Amari who stayed quiet beside and Alpha Zef who just quietly looked at his twin with a glare.

Alpha Kai smirked at me, “Look at the Arya. See their faces?” He grabbed my chin, making sure I make eye contact with each pack member.

Some were avoiding their eyes, while some were boldly facing me, not even bothering to blink.

“They seem to not like you here, so why are you letting my brother have to take an oath with our pack?” Alpha Kai then leaned into me, “If you’re going to take the oath, you’ll never be able to escape from us. forever. You’ll be tied to us. Now I am asking you, do you want that?”

I tried to read his expression but all I could see is his blank stare.

He may have looked like he crashed this initiation ceremony but thinking about it now, no. He is not doing this for his selfish gains or just to annoy me.

Alpha Kai is doing this for me. For me to be able to choose. to stop this. To have the option to back out from taking an oath that I know I will break soon.

Taking the initiation oat in this ceremony would only mean that I finally surrendered from surviving. That I just gave up and gave in to these twins.

And I do not want that. I still haven’t got my revenge for my father and Mayhe. For what they did to me.

One thing is for sure now.

Alpha Kai is….he is indeed saving me.

Alpha Kai looked at his brother with a smug look, “As the alpha of this pack, I believe it is clear to decide things here. Our pack members do not like to be with her. Or welcome her, so what is the point of this ceremony?”

Alpha Zef glanced at everyone and at me, and he sighed.

“Good. If no one has no objections, then we must end this night now.” Alpha Kai instant grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the suffocating place.

He just silently took me further and away from the pack members, away from his brother, away from anyone. We were getting deeper and deeper into the forest. He was just quiet as his hand was tightening on my wrist, almost giving me a blister now that I dropped his hand.

“Kai, where are you taking me now?” I demanded, panting a bit as his pace was getting quicker.

He turned to me with a glare, “Aren’t you going to thank me?”

I snorted, “Why would I thank you?”

He looked at me in disbelief, as if it was my fault why I am even asking him that question. “I saved you from almost stating the unbreakable oath initiation, Arya. You should thank me.”

Oh…he was referring to that. I sighed, “Fine. Thank you then.” I didn’t know he had kindness within him, or be considerate of me even for once.

“Good. Now let’s go.” He ushered me, motioning for me to follow him. He suddenly transformed into his black wolf and ran ahead.

I shifted into my brown fur and followed him through the thick and dark night. The woods were getting deeper now.

“Where? Just tell me.”

There was a wicked smile on his, “Away from my brother. And I want to piss him off.”

I instanlty understood it. He must have been still angry that his brother had mated with me first and it was not him. He is jealous but he is not just admitting it.

He then continued running forward and I was chasing him behind. Since he was an alpha, of course, he had an incredible speed so it was hard for me to keep up. He suddenly slowed down for me and when I was finally able to match his pace, he suddenly looked at me with a long look before darting his eyes away shyly.

I furrowed my eyebrows. What was that? Is Alpha Kai suddenly acting all shy?

“You’re acting suspicious, Alpha Kai.” I mouthed aloud without a second thought.

When he looked at me again, there was a glare now and he scoffed, “You keep asking questions.” He then stopped running and I followed him.

He then approached me and his soft black fur glided on mine as he laid his head on mine. I could smell his scent as he pant behind me. “Let me just stay in this position before I’ll let you go.”

I paused at that. Let me go? What is Alpha Kai saying now?
