But anyways, I knew that I wouldn’t get out of here alive. Alpha Ace might have been too busy thinking about Kira now but I could sense him not letting me get away.
Gusev carried Kira down and brought her down, and Alpha Ace instantly grabbed Kira’s hand.
Gusev stood by me and raised his eyebrow at me in question, “Why are you still here? If I were you, I would have run away from here.”
“And why are you here too? Protecting Kira and all when Alpha Ace clearly hates you?” I fired back, which made him laugh. This vampire has the guts for keeping on appearing to us and touching Kira like that in front of his mate who’s overly sensitive.
“I guess we have something in common now. I am sensing Alpha Ace wouldn’t just let us out of his sight.”
Goodness, I wanted to laugh at my situation. How similar me and Gusev are right now. Our fate lies in Alpha Ace now but I have Kira, I am sure his heart would turn soft.
And he’s only angry at Kai, not me, right?
Instanlty, he was right when Alpha Ace went to my side, “Do not dare to ask Kira about her burning hands or I’ll f*cking kill you.”
Oh goodness. So much for hoping. We’re both f*cked.
Wow. He has a way with his words. What a gentleman just because Kai is not here. I thought to myself sarcastically.
Well, it’s my fault knowing Kai isn’t here to protect me, it would be natural for him to talk to me like that. Plus he considers me as one of the traitors now so…
Alpha Ace then came to hug Kira, “Are you alright, my sweet?”
“I’m fine….but I feel like my head has been cracked into two. What happened? Oh right! There were enemies here? Why are you standing here, we need to fight them!”
“We already did. Do not worry, I killed them all.” Alpha Ace responded and I rolled my eyes. He’s saying as if he did it all by himself. Excuse me, we also helped him.
I wanted to rebut when Kira embraced me in a hug, “I am glad you are fine.”
“Okay, that is enough. I’ll be keeping Arya as my prisoner here and waiting for Kai to show up. I’ll be punishing them.”
As soon as Alpha Ace announced that, Kira looked at me with pity, “What? Ace!”
Just then, Alpha Ace went to me and grabbed my hand, securing it so I wouldn’t be able to escape.
I struggled, and Kira was also pushing him away and trying to keep herself between us when suddenly, an arrow went into Alpha Ace’s shoulders, letting blood all over it.
I gasped, silence fell for a second before I could feel everything going in slow motion.
I thought we had already finished all of the fowlers.
But judging by a man standing there with his bow and arrow, splattering it around us was making me sick. I managed to
Alpha Ace growled, howling at the man as he tried to attack the man. His hands managed to put claw marks on the fowler but the fowler was quick to put another arrow on Alpha Ace’s shoulders, making him bleed profusely.
Alpha Ace’s actions slowed down, and I gasped, feeling like I’d seen it before….that bow and arrow were somewhat similar to what the Red Crows used when theta attacked Kai so he would weaken!
Were the Red Crows having an alliance with the fowlers before we even came here? How come the fowlers even had their hands on that?
I had thought that we already won and finished everything, guess we were wrong.
I have to subside my thoughts and instantly mind-linked Kai.
“We are attacked!”
I was hoping he was around the perimeter somewhere so he would instantly help us here and read my emotions however, nothing came. Kai wasn’t minded linking me back.
I breathed deeply, wanting to help Alpha Ace who was on the ground now, still trying to fight back the arrow. He pulled it from his body, and I could tell his senses had dulled already just from the arrow.
I muttered a curse.
Shit. That arrow had poison too! Just like what Kai had from the Red Crows!
“Help him, Gusev!” I yelled at the vampire beside me, who seemed to be also struggling on his own. He seemed to be hearing something as he was covering his ear and yelling in frustration.
“Ah!!!” He was throwing his head on the ground, and I could tell the fowlers were doing their tricks again. I glanced to see the human had brought a radio strapped to his waist as he fought Alpha Ace.
I wanted to help him with his reverie but I do not know how.
“They…are…gettting….her!” He managed to croak out and I instantly turned in Kira’s direction.
Another woman came in and grabbed Kira, who was shocked at everything as she was frozen in a spot. She tried to hit the woman and fought back but the woman put a white cloth on her nose to smell and after a few seconds, Kira was motionless.
I pushed the woman down and fought her, dragging her hair as I took a metallic piece she was holding. I knew that was a human tool called a gun, some of my past rogue members had been killed by the bullets it shoots.
“Ah, you really have a weird friend group here. A vampire, a werewolf, and a human?” She teased and I wanted to tear her down. I wanted to shift but it would take longer and this woman might grab hold of the momentum and by the time I finished shifting to my wolf, she would have already fired an arrow at me too.
And why are they getting Kira? A human? Are they saving her from us?
It seemed that Alpha Ace succeeded in destroying the radio that was making Gusev struggle as he was able to help me push the woman away.
“Come on, more of them are coming our way. Looks like the one you killed earlier had called them backups.” He informed me, and I gasped, wondering how the hell none of us, not even Lycan King Ace managed to sense them. Not one of us expected this, damn.
I was hoping Kai would appear any second now to help us. Ah, if only I could have been more powerful.
“He’s the alpha, right? How about helping him?” The woman suggested, “He’s gonna die, your pack will die soon too.”
