Epilogue
As soon as he stepped out of the field, Nate was hounded by the reporters. He opened his mouth, but before he could say something, they all crowded him. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed his manager urging him to speak. The Alpha no choice but to stand there and answer the questions.
The reporter opened her mouth, undoubtedly about to dig a little deeper. He turned away from the reporter, his eyes scanning the joyous faces of his teammates, Coach, trainers and co-trainers, medics and a dozen assistants, smiling broadly. Winning indeed bought a different kind of energy around the stadium.
"Congratulations, Mr Harper!"
The Alpha nodded his head. "Thank you."
"Are you here alone?"
"Yes"
Why did they care? He still scored the winning goal, and their team won. What if no one came to see him? The reporters always asked him ridiculous questions, and it's starting to get on his nerves.
"Mr Harper, do you have any plans on taking over your family business? Of course, we all how successful Harper's truly are"
"Not right now", Nate curtly answered. His father was happy to do business on his own for few more years to come. Who was Nate to take that away? Besides, the Alpha loved his career; thank you very much.
"Mr Harper, it's great to see you in your form! Just a quick question, you don't mind, do you?" Another brunette asked him, batting her eyelashes in a flirty manner. It did not affect him. He kept a straight face. All the media chaos quieted down, so the microphones stretched in his direction would be able to catch every word exchanged. "We have noticed your omega was missing from the bleachers today. Are you both having some problems?"
The deafening sounds of the stadium crowd above and around them remained, thunderous, unstoppable cheering over the teams win.
He gritted his teeth at the question, fingers curled around in a fist. His manager signalled him to continue, much to Nates disdain. Why couldn't others answer on behalf of him? The Alpha would be more than willing to pay a large amount of money.
"Shouldn't you be asking me about the game? I'm sure that's what the viewers care about right now," The Alpha said, dodging the question, flashing a bright smile. One thing he hadn't gotten used to, even after years of being a professional football player, was the constant media attention. He didn't whine about that, knew it was a part of all this — his world —something he used to wish for feverishly. Now that he knew the reality of things, Nate didn't like it at all.
The reporter grinned, shark-like, and shrugged. "Of course, you're right. It was a rather sensational game. All thanks to you."
Nate cleared his throat. "I would say it's teamwork. My success is impossible without my teammates, our coach who motivates us to be the best! Lastly, my family, if you're watching this, I love you all."
The crowd awed behind him, the omegas fanning their faces. He waved at them before turning his attention to the reporters. Nate wanted to go back and celebrate with his family. "Thanks, guys!"
"Wait, Mr Harper," The same reporter continued tenaciously, "You finally got hitched to a werewolf this June before your honeymoon in Paris. How was the wedding?"
Nate pressed his lips together. The footballer had no interest in revealing his personal life to the public. There already knew too much.
"It was delightful," He searched his eyes for the driver, getting impatient. "Thank you."
The reporter licked her lips. "So we've heard. Now you and Miss Allie—"
"Mrs Allie Harper", He corrected.
She blushed before nodding her head. "Sorry. You and Mrs Harper have had... somewhat of an unconventional relationship. She fell pregnant in college, and then you two started dating. You mated in early 2020 but didn't get married until over a year later, very interesting indeed."
Nate scowled. All of what the reporter said was standard information. Their relationship had been considerable controversy, all thanks to them belonging to a different breed. Both the sides—werewolves and hellhounds were interested in knowing how it'll play out, especially with their pure pup in the mix.
"I don't see a question here."
The reporter chuckled. "I wanted to ask, are you happy with how it played out?"

Allie leaned against the wall, eyes crinkled as she watched the sight in front of her. Just then, the omega heard the lock click. Even after all these years, Nates scent still affected her so quickly and overwhelmingly. Vanilla and musk pheromones seeped into her, making her relax.
He came to stand by her, his arm coming to wrap around her waist.
They watched as their three-year-old pup kicked the ball straight into the net. Of course, there was no one to stop the ball on the other side. A high pitched squeal left his mouth as the ball went straight ahead.
Allie rolled her eyes fondly at her son. He was just so adorable.
"Daddy!" He turned around, his chubby feet rushing towards Nate.
Milos had curls resembling his father, which bounced with the way he ran, his pink lips parting in excitement. He was wearing one of the jerseys Nate got him as a gift. The pup instantly took a liking to that piece of cloth, wearing it as often as possible.
The Alpha was quick to hoist Milos up onto his hip, a smile curling onto his lips. He was quick to scent his pup, nosing his cheek and taking in the soft baby powder smell. The pup had still to get his pheromones, but they were sure he's an Alpha like Nate.
"Mummy, did you see that?!" Her pup asked excitedly, his blue crystal-like eyes shining with enthusiasm.
"Yes, lovey."
"How was I?"
The omega smiled fondly at him, planting a wet kiss on his cheek. "You were a natural, darling", She cooed. "Future football player just like your dad."
"Maybe even better than your dad," Nate chimed in, beaming with pride.
The pup gasped. "That's impossible, daddy!" He whispered, sounding flabbergasted at the mere idea. "You are bestest!"
"There's no such word, Milo", Allie corrected him. "It's best."
He adorably giggled. Milos asked to be let down so that he can get something to drink. As soon as Nate put him, he took off in a second.
They both chuckled at that.
"I missed you three at that game today", Nate rumbled, letting Allie lean against him. He snaked his arms before getting on his knees in front of her. "My love", Nate whispered, pressing a kiss to her bump.
"And whose fault is that?"
The Alpha looked up. "Mine?"
"Exactly"
He had no idea how it was his fault, but Nate knew better than to argue with his pregnant mate.
"You have no idea, do you?" She hissed.
Nate was sure it must be something to do with handling their energetic pup while also getting hounded by reporters. All while carrying another baby.
"Mmh," The Alpha hummed. He rested one hand on the small of her back and the other on her baby bump, leaning in to sniff at her neck. His eyes fell on the scar on the right side of her chest, and he grimaced.
After the blow, Allie took on his behalf from
Harold, they all believed she wouldn't be able to make it. Her breathing had stopped entirely, and that's when the baby kicked. Milos was their little miracle. They immediately carried her to the pack doctor, and she was treated right there.
Nate hadn't realised how much she meant to him until that very moment. The second she opened her eyes, the Alpha sat by her side and confessed his love.
It took her a while to recover from such a deep
wound, but fortunately, both the omega and the pup made it safe. She carried Milos to his full term before giving birth in Nate’s packhouse.
Of course, they took it slow, working out their difference and challenges that came with having a pup. They waited patiently before mating and then finally tied the knot a year later.
She pecked his lips. "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing"
"I watched your interview, Alpha. Saw your winning goal.”
Her fingers toyed with the collar. “It’s very sexy of you to defend our relationship”
“You think so?”
“Yes Alpha”
“And Milo couldn't stop jumping around. He's very proud of you," She murmured, smoothing her hand over his wild sweaty curls, tucking them behind. Allie breathed in his spicy, musky scent. "You did fabulous if I say so myself!"
"Thanks, baby", Nate replied, his dimples popping with the intensity of his smile, but he seemed absent-minded while responding. His attention shifted towards the kitchen, where Milos was still pleading with their housekeeper for ice cream. No one could deny his puppy eyes. "Couldn't have done it without you cheering me on."
"And our pups."
"Of course, omega" Nate rested his head on her neck. He's always tactile, but when it came to his pregnant omega, it's on a whole different level. The Alpha couldn't keep his hands to himself.
"Enough about me," His hand slipped under her loose shirt to pet her round belly, "how's my baby doing?"
"Good, she's chilling in there."
"Or he"
"It's a she," Allie made a face, "I can feel it."
"You said the same thing with Milos."
"Doesn't count. I was not experienced back then."
The Alpha hummed. After his mate completed her graduation, she decided to spend time with Milos and the pack members. Nate and Allie were both new parents who needed help, so they stayed in the packhouse. For quite some time where Allie was able to witness several pregnancies.
"True"
Allie pulled away from him. "Before I forget, let me remind you that your parents and Sams family will be here tomorrow for lunch. I invited them to celebrate your win."
Four years ago, when Sam found out that Hellhounds did not kill their parents, he changed for the better. He dropped his revenge path and proposed Rachel, Allies best friend. They mated a year later and had a one-year-old baby girl named Alisha.
"How did you know I would win?"
"Because I believe in you, silly Alpha."
Nate made a sound, his chest constricted. "I love you."
She never got tired of hearing that. If someone had said her four years ago, Allie would find a Hellhound mate and settle down; she would have laughed in their face. Now she cannot imagine her life without him. "And I you."
