Chapter 49
As soon as the injured Alpha gave up, Allie rushed towards Nate. He was fighting so many of them on his own, which didn't sit right with her. She noticed that Nates pack was exhausting their resources, sending the pack soldiers in front as much as they could. They also had to defend the packhouse from being raided and protect the safe room.
Nate twisted the arm of the attacker, turning his head towards her. "Allie, why are you here? You need to go back!"
"I don't want to leave your side", She yelled over the commotion, kicking the person who tried to swing by.
The injured attacker pushed himself backwards to travel in her direction at a faster pace. She was overconfident and ignored him.
The omega didn't expect the attacker to reach up, grip her forearm, and extract his claws to pierce deeply under her skin. Allie hollered in sharp pain, gasping as she stumbled back while grasping at the wound. Blood gushed out of the injury instantly, causing long trails to stain her skin and the flesh of her palm as she applied pressure to it.
Her vision was blurred by the fat tears dribbling down her cheeks.
A vicious growl echoed around. She didn't have to lift her head to know who that belonged to. Nate crackled his knuckles, taking a step back as his bones and muscles snapped together. Before she could take a breath, the Alpha shifted into his Hellhound form.
The pack soldiers cheered, throwing their hands in the air before following Nates footsteps. Her mouth dropped open as she saw Alpha Hellhounds forming a chain around. It made her eyes widen because nothing could have prepared for the moment.
Nate threw his head back and growled before he threw himself at the attacker. All it took was a quick snap to pull his arm out, the same one with which he attacked Allie.
Their eyes met for few seconds, and she got lost in the darkness behind them; the sheer power he radiated in his animal form made her knees weak. She wanted to take a step closer, but someone pulled up at that very moment. Harold. Allie could smell his distinct scent.
She lost sight of Nate as he busied himself fighting others.
Harold made his way along with a few of his pack members, walking in her direction. Allie held her breath as he stood few inches away from her. "So you are fighting on their behalf? You are a fool, Allie."
"A bit rich coming from you", She snickered, holding her ground.
The Pack Leader laughed. "I love your spirit. Still, it's not too late. You can join the winning side, and we will have peace on earth."
"You're delusional if you think I would come anywhere near you."
"See? This is what I'm talking about. These winner qualities, but you picked the wrong team just like your parents."
Her blood went cold at the mention of her parents. She took a menacing step further, ignoring all the glares from Harold's bodyguards.
"What are you saying?"
"Oh? You don't know?"
"Spit it out!"
Harold cooed. "Your parents were also naive; they didn't want war. Especially your father. He knew how to kill Hellhounds but wouldn't share with any of us. Believed these Hellhounds wouldn't attack us." The Pack Leader rolled his eyes and continued. "Your parents wanted to protect their children from having same thoughts, so they took you and your brother away from us."
"But they were attacked by a Hellhound! We saw that happen."
Harold innocently blinked. "You mean me?"
She opened and closed her mouth at the information. "But..."
"I know you thought you saw a Hellhound. We tricked you and your brother very well. I was a huge wolf back then so it came easy. After witnessing your parent's death, we thought you'll hate Hellhounds and that's exactly what happened"
Allie froze in her spot. All these years, she believed that Hellhounds were the worst breeds—bloodhounds who have no mercy. When in reality, werewolves were the ones to kill her parents. Tears rolled down her eyes as she thought back to that incident and had a flash of her parent's dead bodies.
They made it look like an attack by Hellhounds.
"Funny that. You got knocked up by a Hellhound. That ruined everything."
She ignored that comment, gritting her teeth together. Red hot fury bubbled in her stomach as the omega met Harolds eyes. "Why?!"
"You already know why, Allie."
Then it clicked her. Those files and all the data he showed her back in the packhouse. They must be years of work and planning in action to execute his disgusting mission. He wanted all the Hellhounds to die so that werewolves would be the superior breed.
Bile rose in her throat as she also realised why they spared both of them and only killed their parents. Harold always wanted to use her in his sick fight, and that's how he might have tracked them down.
"So you already knew about Sam?!"
Harold clicked his tongue. "Always. We knew about both of you. I had you two followed from the start, tracked your academic activities and everything you did. Trust me; I was very proud when you started killing those Hellhounds."
She was disgusted. Her whole life had been a lie. The omega took so many lives in her path of revenge. Not anymore. Allie was not going to be manipulated by him anymore. They were unknowingly exploited all these years, forced to believe a lie and act on it. Now that she knew about it, the omega had to take action.
"You are dead", Allie growled, baring her canines and snapping her hand to pull her claws. Werewolves didn't need to shift entirely to fight, and she wanted to do it in her human form. Wanted to watch as life drained out of his smug face.
Harold cackled, motioning at his pack crowding behind him. They were huge and towered over her quickly. "To reach me you have to get through them."

Allie looked up as an Alpha rammed his shoulder into her. She fell on her back, struggling to see through the blurriness; her attacker came into view right above her with a helmet in his hands. The omega quickly rolled at the right time to watch the helmet smashing into the ground roughly where her head was mere seconds ago.
She brought the piece of armour back and swung it forward as the attacker headed straight towards her. It struck him, making a hard impact with the side of his head. The Alpha fell limp and rolled a few feet away temporarily.
Allie pulled herself swiftly on her feet and hauled forward to hit that nasty attacker directly in his face.
It made the larger Alpha fall backwards onto the ground as he clutched at his nose. She was confident that he was ready to give up, but when a piece of armour was flung at the omega, Allie sighed, managing to dodge the object. The tips of them barely got her skin, making her thankful for her quick reflexes.
That's it! She thought under her breath and took the open opportunity to swing her arms around the larger man. He fell backwards and crashed into the remaining armour strands that were still upright.
Before she could celebrate her victory, she heard something.
From the corner of her eyes, she noticed the Pack Leader concealed by his pack members. Harold was tiptoeing towards Nate when her eyes shifted to his hands. The blade of his dagger glinted in the light, making her mouth drop open. Harold was planning on stabbing Nate in the back.
"Nate!" She yelled for him.
The Hellhound was indulged in attacking the person in front of him; his back turned towards her. Panic began clawing at her chest as Harold was getting closer.
Allie stalked forward with all she had. The Pack Leader raised his hand, fully ready to stab Nate, but she threw herself in the middle, her eyes clutched shut. As her body crashed against Nates back, he turned around.
It felt like an eternity before Allie realised the dagger went through her body. The right side of her chest.
Everyone stilled. It took her few seconds before Allie noticed the edge of the dagger, air leaving out of her lungs at once. She dropped her hands by the side, throwing her head back to gather a few good breaths, before slowly falling backwards.
However, Nate growled and used his reflex to shift in his human form quickly. The Alpha caught her in mid-fall and clutched her close to him. Nate gently lowered the Omega to sit on the ground. His hand went towards her wound, and he applied pressure, blood drenching his hands as he urged her to stay awake.
"Allie!"
Tears rolled down her eyes as she met his eyes, breathing erratic. She was leaving him. The knowledge hurt her that they won't have anything she dreamed of. Allie rested her head against his chest, letting his heartbeat lull her.
"Why would you do that?!"
Raising her bloodied hand, she clutched at his cheek. "A-Alpha"
Nates eyes turned red, tears pooling in them as he yelled at his soldiers. They all scrambled, following his instructions to get a pack doctor.
"Allie!" Nate gritted through a constant growl, his canines bared and eyes black as night. "Do not strain yourself. Finn will be here."
Allie gasped, orbs filling with fresh tears. "I-I a-am sorry for everything I did. Nate, I-I never wanted to hurt you."
"Stop talking nonsense. You are not going anywhere!"
"I-I want to say something" She choked on her breath.
"No!" Nate yelled at her. "Stay awake for me!"
"Tsk tsk my dear Allie you should have listened to me" Harold hovered above them, the Alpha rested her head on the ground. He pressed a kiss to her forehand before rising to his feet and launching at Harold with all his strength.
With her eyes closing, she managed to catch the end of it. Nate smashed the skull of that Pack Leader in between his hands, blood spilling everywhere. People began yelling around him, cheering in victory.
The Alpha was by her side in a second, patting her cheek and yelling for her.
"I-I love you, Nate", She croaked out before succumbing to darkness.
