Did I deserve this?

In any case.

And what now? She won't even let me speak. I wanted to apologize, although I don't think it's very apologetic. And what is she doing? She runs away, avoids me and ignores me.

That's exactly what she's been doing for the past two weeks.

Always the same. I try to talk to her and she just walks away without listening to me.

Maybe it was better that way. Who knows? I didn't even ask where exactly she goes when she avoids me. But somehow I became more and more restless from day to day because I didn't know exactly what she was doing.

The most nagging thought was that she was looking for someone else to have fun with. But I wasn't allowed to think about that, otherwise I'd really lose control here.

In the meantime, however, a meeting was called with other Alphas from around the world. Which ones my father was already friendly with and who now wanted to meet me as the new alpha and also a few others with whom I'd like to negotiate a peace treaty. Among other things, Lou's father was also invited. Lou doesn't know about it since it was hard for me to tell her, but I hope she's happy to see someone from her family.

Maybe that way I'll get her to talk to me again. Then I can finally apologize to her.

Lost in thought I sat at the big table in the pack house and ate my lunch. I didn't even notice my friends who were spread out around me. Not even Sebastian, who hasn't spoken to me for two weeks, at least not private matters. Only when it came to pack matters did he reluctantly speak to me.

"...hanging out with Lou. Credit to you for letting it slip through so easily after you've also mated with her."

When the name Lou was mentioned, I came back to the here and now and saw that Alex, who was sitting across from me, was looking at me questioningly. What did he say about Lou?

"What?" I asked again.

"Dude, where are you with your head? I said that I see Linus and Lou together quite often at the moment. She usually has dinner with him later in the evening and breakfast before everyone else does," he explained with a shrug.

But what he said to me set off all the alarm bells in me. I didn't think that she was really the kind of person who runs straight to the next one. In fact, I didn't even really know her. And what else is she supposed to do with Linus?

Linus is not the type for friendships. He is better known as a womanizer in the pack.

My seams are slowly bursting. My wolf wanted to go out and punish the two. I could hardly keep myself under control.

From the side I noticed that Sebastian's gaze was on me.

"Calm down Aryan. I'm sure there's an explanation for that." He said calmly.

My face must be red with anger by now. My hands clenched so that my finger bones were already white. You had to look at my anger meanwhile, because other pack members also became aware of me.

"Shit calm down, dude. I thought you knew about it." Alex tried it too, looking very guilty and worried at the same time.

I tried to calm myself with deep breaths, but images of Linus and Lou lounging naked in a bed kept popping up in my mind.

My wolf claws shot out of my hands. I was on the verge of a transformation.

"Oh fuck.", I heard the voice of Luan, who was sitting next to Alex.

Then an explosion of anger rolled over me, so that I knocked over the table in front of me and thus distributed all the food to the pack members who were sitting on the other side.

I heard startled gasps and children screaming, but that doesn't matter anymore. Because I had to find Lou and that little bastard Linus immediately and then the moon goddess had mercy on them.

In my big wolf form, I ran out of the pack house and tried to track Lou down. In fact, I smelled the subtle scent of roses she wore. So I was able to follow the trail to the pack hospital.

I should have known she was hiding out with that bastard at work. So now I know what she does all the time. Actually, I wouldn't have expected something like that from her.

I ran in, blind with anger. I didn't pay attention to nurses or injured and sick wolves in my way. I transformed back and just walked heavily towards a treatment room where I could spot Linus.

As I entered the room, the first thing I saw was a pregnant woman who had exposed her belly. Linus sat next to her and did an ultrasound.

"LINUS!" I yelled. "WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS MY MATE?!"

Linus, who looked up at me startled, dropped the ultrasound machine from his hand and jumped off his stool, only to be hanging around his neck in the tight grip of my hand.

"A-alpha," he stuttered in confusion while trying to catch his breath. "I-I don't know-..."

"Arian?" A soft voice behind me stopped me. "What are you doing?" she asked confused, causing the anger to boil up in me again.

I let go of the doctor and turned to my mate instead. I walked over to her with quick steps, so that she was squeezed between me and the wall. I glared down at her angrily.

"What I do? The better question is what are you doing?" My voice was even lower than normal, making Lou wince at me. However, she looked up at me confused afterwards.

"As if it's any of your business what I do!" Her voice was starting to sound angry, too.

"OF COURSE, IF YOU HANGOUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE, IT'S MY BUSINESS OF MY BUSINESS. I DIDN'T CHEAT YOU AFTER EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD DIVERSION." I yelled, now completely beside myself.

"What are you even talking about?" She looked me in the eyes questioningly.

"OF AVOIDING ME AND MAKING OUT WITH LINUS."

"W-what? Yes, I avoid you, but only because you keep hurting me with your words and actions. But I never made out with Linus. He's just a good friend." She tried to explain, her voice calm now.

Was she right in what she said? At least she doesn't look like she's lying. I just had to trust her and her honestly clear eyes...

I calmed down a bit. However, there was one thing that didn't let me go.

"Then why are you always with him?"

"We work together. I've recently been training to be a nurse here. After all, I have to do something and I can't just sit around in my room all the time."

I felt relief wash through me. If she really cheated on me, I wouldn't have known what to do. Especially since we're not really together. Although we have paired. But she doesn't have my mark yet. That's the first thing I'll take care of once I've finally apologized.

Then she will not even look at any other male who does not wish for a quick death.

"Now that that's settled, can you please leave? I have to work." She pushed against my chest with her small hands, hoping to push me away. But she was too weak for that.

Small, weak and at my mercy.

"Only when I've talked to you, privately." Maybe this was my chance to finally make things right again. Hopefully she'll forgive me.

"If you finally leave me alone after that..."

"I promise," I replied immediately.

Let's hope I don't mess it up again.
