~Lou Wilson~
"Let's go again. It was a stupid idea to come here." I yelled at Zara over the loud music. While we werewolves had good hearing, I doubted it would work over such loud music.
"Now loosen up and have some fun!" she yelled back, pulling me further onto the dance floor.
There were many tightly entwined bodies around me, which made me feel uncomfortable. Added to this was the unpleasant smell of sweat, which I could smell particularly well as a wolf. It was hot and all I really wanted to do was go home. It was a bad idea for me to get involved.
"This is mine now," I heard my best friend's voice. As I glanced at her, I saw her take a shot glass from a guy's hand and down it in one gulp. So much too no alcohol .
"Zara, please let's go again. My parents will kill us and your parents will probably kill us too. Please...I'm still too young to die," I begged. But no chance. Zara must have set her ears open. She only hears what she wants to hear and thinks about possible consequences never himself.
Zara started dancing too. She closed her eyes and completely focused on the music while swinging her hips in unison.
She looked really sexy and just beautiful doing it.
When she opened her eyes again, they landed on me, who was standing stock still next to her.
She rolled her eyes annoyed, grabbed my waist and tried to get me to move. I also tried to move a little more now, but I probably still looked like something stiff. I could never move as beautifully as all the other women here. I just felt too uncomfortable for that. Especially because I was afraid my dress might ride up.
Zara, however, was apparently satisfied with me and concentrated on her movements alone again.
After a while my body even moved by itself to the music and actually I slowly felt like letting go completely. Nothing mattered anymore and I just enjoyed the here and now.
"Hello pretty lady," I then heard a guy's voice. It wasn't anyone who spoke to me, but rather someone who came up behind Zara and pulled her by the hips.
I watched as a smirk crossed her face until she suddenly widened her eyes in shock and turned to the tall, lanky one with brown curly hair. No idea what exactly was going on now, but they simply stared into each other's eyes for several minutes, until the brown-haired one pulled her close to him and buried his head in her hair.
"You smell so good," he mumbled into her hair and it was actually a miracle that I understood.
Still not knowing what was going on, I looked at the two of them in confusion. Zara wrapped her arms tightly around his body as if she never wanted to let him go and he did the same. So they stood still in the dancing crowd.
And then I suddenly had an inkling of what was going on here. But no... That couldn't be. Not here. And why Zara, who didn't care as much about finding her mate as I did. But as the saying goes: Those who search do not find and those who do not search will find what they are looking for.
However, a small smile crept onto my face. The guy was anything but Zara's prey scheme, but she seemed more than happy to have found him. And I was happy for her. She finally made it, finally found him.
But then another thought occurred to me. This guy didn't belong to our pack, so now Zara will leave me to go with him.
My smile turned sad now.
"Alex?" asked another guy, who appeared next to the two and gave them a confused look. Unlike Zara's mate, this one had light brown straight hair that he had gelled to the side and his eyes were sandstone-colored. He also appeared broad and muscular and his aura was powerful. Certainly he was a higher ranking wolf. Just wondering what they're doing here in a human club and not at the mate balls that are happening all over the world today.
"Yes," he grumbled, visibly annoyed, and finally raised his head from Zara's neck to stare at the other with his deep blue eyes in annoyance.
"Is that her?" the other asked and looked at Zara from head to toe, which the guy apparently called Alex didn't like. Because he growled menacingly at his opposite. "Dude, you don't have to tease me like that. I'm not Threat, because as you know, I already have a mate." He raised his hands soothingly and walked a meter away.
"Well, that's all well and good, but can I kidnap Zara for a moment?" I interfered in their conversation. Everyone acted as if I wasn't there at all and it may be that I wasn't important at that moment, but maybe at least Zara would be nice enough to drive me home before the night of her life begins.
"Zara," said this Alex guy dreamily.
I didn't know how else to react to this speckle. On the one hand, it made me sad that Zara will probably change packs now. On the other hand, she was my best friend and I was happy for her. Nevertheless, I didn't feel like playing third wheel here and watching how she rode into the sunset with her princes.
"And you are?" came the annoyed guy who wasn't Alex. He walked up to me and apparently sniffed me. He was probably checking to see if I was a werewolf too.
"Lou, Zara's best friend." I smiled victoriously at this guy and then wanted to pull Zara away from here, but I had reckoned without Zara, because she tore herself away and hugged her mate again.
"Well, you don't seem to be that important to her after all.", this Alex said this time and hugged his mate back.
"I'll let Arian know that we'll have another passenger when we fly back tomorrow," the other said, ignoring me as before.
But his words made me swallow. "Fly? Where are you from?"
"Minnesota, honey." He enlightened me. And I didn't think it was great that my best friend would soon be living on another continent.
"Minnesota?" Zara finally seemed to have woken up from her dream. She looked at her mate from below in shock. "That's so far away from home," she finally realized. "I have to say goodbye to my family and..." She turned her head to look at me before also making a sad face "...Lou."
I just gave her a sad smile. Of course saying goodbye would be difficult, but at least she found happiness. And if I give it to anyone, it's Zara. She should be happy with her mate and make new friends, even though I'll miss her terribly. Who else makes sure that I have enough fun in my life and don't read book after book all day and laze around in my room.
"Arian..." the sandstone-eyed guy uttered in annoyance.
"What? Doesn't he answer? Then he must be busy with the hot black-haired one from earlier." Zara's mate laughed.
Do I want to know who this Arian is or what he's doing with some woman? Definitely not.
"He said we shouldn't bother unless it's important and I think one of us finding his mate is more than important. As a future Alpha, he should know." The other explained himself again.
"I've got an idea, Seb." Alex slung Zara over his shoulder, who cried out in shock. "Get Luan!"
"What are you up to?" came the confused Seb. Is Seb his nickname?
“We will surprise our alpha. I really want to introduce him to my mate. He'll love her."
Well, is that a good idea? If I understood correctly, her alpha was busy with other things.
But this Seb started to grin stupidly now too. As he disappeared into the crowd, he called out, "He's going to rip our heads off." He actually sounded in a good mood.
How can you even be happy about something like that? It was clearly a stupid idea, and this Seb admitted it himself. Why are they doing it anyway? Do I need to understand boy logic?
And as always, nobody paid any attention to me. While Alex headed towards the exit with Zara over his shoulder, who was groping his ass the whole time, Seb disappeared into the crowd. And so it came about, as I suspected from the start, that I was standing there alone with no plan of how I was going to get home now. The boys will run to their alpha with Zara and what on earth is about me? For better or for worse, I'm going to call one of my brothers and hope he doesn't rat me out to our parents.
I went out the door to make a call. Here, where the cold night air came towards me and it was finally calmer again, almost dead quiet.
I even noticed Zara and her mate. He was busy getting her into a car.
Don't I worry that we'll never see each other again?
No. Zara will come and say goodbye. After all, our alpha, my dad, had to know about it too and then I could save my tears for tomorrow.
I was just dialing my oldest brother Lucian's number when a voice called out, "What about you now? Are you coming or do you want to stand around there tomorrow?"
I looked up confused and met the sandstone colored eyes of this Seb who was standing a few meters in front of me. Next to him was another guy with a blank expression on his face. Definitely this Luan. But why is he looking so sad?
"Uhhh...yeah, I'm coming." I don't know why I went with these guys now. It was probably a suicidal mission too, interrupting their alpha's dalliance, but as Zara likes to say: No risk, no fun. And maybe there's still a chance that someone will drive me home at the end and nobody will notice anything from my city tour. You also had to think about yourself.
So that can be something. Hopefully this Arian doesn't even notice me and I'll just remain the silent spectator, like I did in the club.
