~Arian Storm~
A knock woke me from my light sleep. I ignored it. It certainly wasn't my door. Who would want anything from me at this late hour?
So I pulled the covers back over the bodies of me and the little black haired girl who was snuggled up against my chest and sleeping peacefully.
I closed my eyes again when the knock came again, this time louder and more urgent.
What do these idiots want now? I told them to leave me alone for the rest of the evening.
I stood up quietly and angrily jerked open the door. I don't care if I was naked. Let those idiots know I was having fun and they were bothering me.
"WHAT?" I hissed. And if I had known what to expect, I would have dressed.
In front of me was Alex, who was growling at me with a funny look on his face and in his arms he had a red-haired girl who was covering her eyes in shock. They probably wouldn't have expected me to present myself to them in all my glory.
"Why do you dare growl at me?" I asked, confused but also angry. I'm his next alpha, he should hold off.
"He can't help it. She's his mate." Came from the right.
I looked at my beta, who was grinning to himself and pointing at the redhead.
Now I understood what he was trying to tell me. So Alex had found his mate. Great, now I've got another idiot in love on my cheek. Sebastian was enough for me. When his mate was around, he clung to her skirt like a lapdog. Didn't they learn anything from Luan?
Annoyed by this fact, I took a deep breath. A strange smell hit my nostrils, which strangely made my heart jump. A strange goosebumps suddenly covered my body and a deep longing spread in me.
What is happening to me?
My head snapped to the right again and I spotted another stranger standing a few feet behind Luan and Sebastian. She gaped at me as my ocean blue eyes found hers. And then it happened. Lightning shot through my body, which began to tingle from her very presence. All I wanted right now was to be close to her, to touch her and to protect her from all dangers in this world.
But I didn't want that. I wasn't allowed to. That can not be. She can't be here. How did she find me? Why moon goddess? Why are you sending her to me when I've always begged you not to give me mate?
Because that's what she was, I now realized. She was my fucking mate. A mate I never wanted. I never wanted to meet and yet she was standing in front of me now.
The little dark blonde wanted to approach me as if remotely controlled, but I stopped her by glaring at her angrily. She had to know I didn't want her before we could get any closer.
Startled by my repulsive look, she stopped and raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"What's all that noise?" Behind me, two small arms suddenly wrapped themselves around my stomach, causing the dark blonde beauty's face to stare at the person behind me, full of anger and hatred.
"Keep your hands off my husband," she suddenly growled and came furiously towards us. But she didn't get far, because I stood protectively in front of my bed story and looked angrily at the little one in front of me.
,,Listen! I know now you're thinking we belong together or some shit. But we don't. The moon goddess made a huge mistake with us. You're not my mate and I don't want you as my mate either. So leave me alone and just fuck off! Do you understand?” Now it began. Something I never hoped to have to do.
My supposed mate's face twisted in pain as she understood my words.
That facial expression alone made me ache. But that's not what I wanted. I don't want to be attached to a complete stranger to me. And I don't want these feelings either, even if I felt sorry for them. It's not her fault I'm her mate, but she'll find someone else.
"N-no," she stuttered, not seeming to take it in. So I had to do what I had to do.
"I don't accept you as my mate. Do you understand that? I don't want you and now go and I'll never see you again." I said harsher than necessary. Hopefully that was the only way she could understand how serious I was.
Her face twisted painfully and the first tears rolled down her cheeks. She collapsed on the floor, but she didn't sit for a long time, because she got up again and fled the hotel as quickly as possible.
Let's hope this was the first and last encounter between us.
"Are you crazy? You didn't just turn down your mate first, did you?" Sebastian teased me now. He knew about my plan, but apparently he just thought I wasn't serious. But I did. My pack is standing in the first place and not a random woman.
I looked around coldly. The redhead looked shocked after the other girl and then finally ran off too. Probably her friend who she has to comfort now.
"I'm aware," I hissed. "Now get the hell out! You've caused enough damage this evening.
Before the boys could say anything else, I slammed the door in their faces.
The black-haired girl had now distanced herself and looked at me questioningly.
"Wh-..." she wanted to start, but I interrupted her.
"Go!" I said neutrally, but there was a warning in my tone nonetheless.
"But I-" I cut her off again, this time angrier.
"GO!" I yelled at her now. I couldn't even look so fast as she had already gathered her stuff and headed out the door.
Only now did I have the urge to breathe again. I leaned my back against the door and touched my messy black hair.
I had done it. I turned down my mate and ripped her heart out. But why do I feel like shit now? It feels like I've lost my heart. Something is missing in me, but I don't know what. Maybe part of my soul? What remains is this indescribable emptiness and I have no idea what to fill it with.
