Unification II

Atasha's Point of View

When I was a kid, I thought that I’d no longer encounter my mate. I believed that I was cursed, but now I can’t believe that the individual that I’ll be marrying today is supposed to be my master.

I once became a slave to him. I turned around and checked my gown in the mirror. I’m holding onto my emotions and I don’t want to cry as the make-up will be ruined. Everything felt so surreal, that the day has finally come that I'll be married to someone that I truly love and care about.

It somehow makes me bittersweet because I don't have any of my family that can witness this. To see their child walking in the aisle. I don't have also friends from the Silver Moon Pack. Since some of them already are dead because of the war.

"Are you nervous? Atasha? The day has come! " She said to me, and my hands were shaking as I glanced over at Veronica. She then grabbed my hand and gently rubbed it. Then it reminds me of her when we're in the East Land.

I was then comforted by her touch. Veronica truly became my mother at this point. She’s acting like my mother who’s excited for her daughter to be married. My heart was pounding fast. Every second was like a slow motion. I truly wanted to savor this moment and I wanted to remember every detail of it. The necklace that my mother-in-law gave me was so beautiful. Veronica said that this was only being passed down from generation to generation so I should take care of it.

"Veronica, please pinch me on the fact that I’m not dreaming," I expressed to her and I became emotional that I wasn’t able to control it anymore and my tears were pooling down in my eyes.

"What’s the matter, Atasha? Did you realize that my brother is a pain in the ass and you don’t want to marry him? " She asked while rubbing my back.  She then chuckled a little bit.

"No, Veronica, you’re brother Elijah, he’s the person that I truly love and I can’t believe that it's now happening that it was real. I was just dreaming that this would happen to me. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been hoping that someday I’ll meet my soul mate. I knew that I could not shift. I was a cursed werewolf and I felt neglected as a child so I'm not just taking this for granted. This is a totally big deal for me. "

She then hugged me sideways and kissed me on the head. "Atasha, I’m so proud of what you’ve become. Your struggles just to get here were truly difficult. I myself think that I can’t do it. You’re a different breed, Atasha. You didn’t give up, so you deserve all of this. "

I then remember my moments with Veronica and Elijah in the library. When I tried to work myself, I challenged myself that I could do it. Even in the back of my mind, I was scared. Veronica and Elijah didn’t give up on me. That’s why I need to push myself. It's nice to remember those times when I felt so alive for the first time. After that, I was in a near-death situation during that test in the library.

"I’m so thankful to have you, Veronica. If you didn’t help me or say things that motivate me to keep going, then I don’t have words to hold onto. You also became my inspiration now that I don't have any family. I see you as my mother. "

Veronica smiled and her eyes got swollen with tears as she heard it from me.

"You’re now my sister-in-law Atasha. We did it. You’re now part of our family. Our plan works," she said, and we both laughed.

"So it's a relief to me that we can call this a beautiful disaster in some way. If that doesn’t happen, then we’re not here now! " She said, in a loud tone of voice.

I then agreed, even though it was indeed a disaster and chaos that happened in the East Land. Especially with what Leo is planning and Clarence, then I’ll not be able to go to the forest and bathe with Elijah to be cured and find out that he’s my mate.

But something deep inside me was a bit worried when I remembered Clarence and Leo. I was thinking if what happened to them

"Veronica, did you hear from Leo after that event in the East Land?"

She then tries to think and pauses for a moment. "I haven't heard anything from them after the masquerade party."

"How about Clarence? Did you know what happened to her? "

She then shook her head, "No idea at all." Why? "

"Nothing, I was just curious since it's been a long time since that happened."

She smiled, then Joaquin knocked on the door and asked us to get inside the vehicle. Elijah was already in the church as he was needed by the Alpha to be their first so they could have some talk before the unification ceremony.

Inside the vehicle, I was remembering how Leo's planned to revenge on Alpha Gregory and overthrow him in the crimson moon pack. He also liked to declare war against the Crimson Moon.

I became worried about what would happen if he knew that I was now getting married to the next Alpha of the pack. Then Clarence, on the other hand, was also mad at me for being with Elijah.

Veronica then saw my face being concerned so she consulted me if there was any problem. I shook my head and smiled at her.

"Atasha, It's fine to be anxious about something but don't let it put inside of your head that long it's dangerous," she said while caressing my hands.

"I'm so sorry, I was so frightened that there's something wrong or I'm feeling about Leo and Clarence."

I ended up just praying to the Moon Goddess that whatever they were planning hopefully it would not affect her wedding.
