Astrid's Point of View
My, oh, my what do we have here,” I mumbled it under my breath while washing my face in the toilet sink. Even Zach, Elijah’s brother was smitten with my stupid sister Atasha. I would use him as well just like Margaux because all of you here in the Crimson Moon Pack are a bunch of idiots, you only have power and wealth. I didn’t expect that I’ll come this far easily without even breaking a sweat.
I’ll use that charming but foolish Zach. Now that I’ll be helping Margaux to marry Elijah to save my ass and to mock Melanie’s eyes that’s pissing me off every time with these hallucinations she kept showing me. I’ll make Zach fall in love with me then we’re the ones that would lead the new pack.
Perhaps, if he saw my full face and if I grew my hair, of course, he wouldn’t think of Atasha anymore. He can’t tell the difference not unless he talks to me and knows I’m more have a personality compared to my dumb sister.
Someone went inside the restroom then I saw Margaux's face and she was sweating.
“Astrid, something was going on. Your sister…”
“What? Is she dead?”
“No, she’s not”
“Oh, and what is it? It should be important!”
“Your sister’s exam was canceled. There was something going on, I saw Alpha Gregory transformed and that includes my father. They rallied outside including his troops. The army was singing their war chant."
“So they’re now attacking a different pack? Is there a piece of news about a cursed wolf?”
“Cursed wolf? No. I didn’t think so.”
“Why are they attacking then? Usually, they attack a village if they get news about having a cursed wolf in their packs.”
“It’s already a myth Astrid, anyway, let’s go outside and ask Zach.”
“Alright. Let’s go, too bad I didn’t see Atasha’s sorry face being murdered by the Alpha…”
“That’s so brutal Astrid."
“Oops, you’re not supposed to hear that Margaux,”
“I can’t believe I’m dealing with a devil…”
“A beautiful and charming devil, you see.”
We tried to find Zach but he was gone missing for quite some time. We spent our time inside the mansion and we couldn’t find Elijah and Atasha. I also saw a beautiful she-wolf beside Elijah.
It’s interesting because she reminded me a bit of Zach with that golden hair. They may be related. I then remember Zach, my future husband. Though there’s no other werewolf that can replace Alex in my heart.
Zach would only be my tool to satisfy my needs at the same time control this entire pack.
Based on the statements that Zach made earlier, he hated his brother Elijah. He felt like an outcast in this pack. So it’s so much better to convince him that he would need to be an Alpha of my future pack.
The only problem I have is that Alpha Gregory, I should get rid of him. Then gave a potion to Elijah so he can marry Margaux so that she could be happy that he now has someone to call his husband.
But now since Zach is in the picture, there’s no need for me to control Margaux as a forefront of my very own pack. I could just make Zach as the Alpha and me as the Luna.
I would just need to figure out how to do it without messing things up. It became more exciting.
“Zach, hey, we’re here. Where are you going?”
Margaux shouted at him as he was found walking in the hallways.
“Margaux, why are you still here and also you, Trisha?”
“What happened with the exam? Why was it suddenly that they went outside to start a war?”
“There’s something going on in the East land. Veronica told the Alpha that she heard that news…”
“Veronica? Wait, so she just tells the Alpha that there’s something going on in the East Land?”
“Yes, she said that there were some rogues that attacked our camp.”
“Oh, I see. Alright, I guess, we need to go home now.”
“Sure, thank you guys for coming here, please stay safe.”
Before we left, I noticed something to Zach that he wasn’t telling us the whole truth. He knew more and he was not telling us everything to us. I don’t know why but that’s what my gut feeling is telling me.
While we’re inside of the vehicle, I was already dripping in sweats because of this cloak that I was wearing.
“Finally, I can remove this hooded cloak, too bad that Zach didn’t see my bald head. Anyway, Margaux, I felt there’s something strange that happened in that examination.”
“What is it?”
“I don’t know if Zach was telling us the whole story. He knows something that he didn’t bother to share with us. I could see it from his face. He was a bit uneasy earlier. Compared to the first time that I saw him when you introduced him to me.”
“Really, Astrid? I wasn’t able to catch that. Zach is my trusted person.”
“Also, who’s Veronica? The one that he said told the Alpha about the East Land.”
“That’s Elijah’s sister.”
“Okay, I bet she’s lying. Veronica was lying that there’s something going on to the East Land. They’re planning this to divert the situation. To cancel the exam.”
“Why are they doing that? It doesn’t make sense.”
“Well, what doesn’t make sense to me Margaux, is why the Alpha believed Veronica right away about it. Does Alpha Gregory not have his own messenger to know what’s happening in the East Land? In his camp? It’s not making sense to me.”
“Right, you’re absolutely right.”
“Unless, Veronica and the people in the East Land was plotting something. Alpha Gregory should have his own messenger from the East Land itself that would tell him this news. Not Veronica who was standing there during the examination. I guess the bottom line here is, they’re protecting Atasha. They knew that she would fail and she would no longer be Luna.”
“Well, Astrid, if your sister fails that exam, she’ll be dead.”
“So I’m right. They’re protecting my sister. They don’t want her to be dead. Both Elijah and Veronica.”
“What should we do now?”
“I’ll talk to the witch and get the potion. While the Alpha is gone, let's begin our next step. We’ll pour the love potion to his drink and make him fall in love with you.”
Margaux went silent while I couldn't remove the smile from my face. I glanced at the sunset from the window. This feeling was liberating. This was like Alex telling me that I deserve to be happy.
