Under the Spell
Astrid’s Point of View
"No, she’s telling the truth. I’m a huge fan of your music." I quickly responded to stop him from worrying that he was tricked by Margaux.
Even though I didn’t hear a single song from Zach. Possibly it was good. His voice soothes my ears. It was a bit deep and cool at the same time. It’s hard to explain, but I can’t concentrate enough because my glance went through his neck into his collar bone. I began to bite my lower lip, imagining what it would look like under his shirt.
"Trisha," I came back to my senses and I was spaced out for a moment.
"What? I'm so sorry, I'm still recovering."
"I’ll give you my record with a signed autograph. I wasn’t able to perform some shows in the theater, but if my schedule is free, I’ll invite you and Margaux."
"Really? I’m so glad to hear that, Zach."
"Anyway, let’s eat now. I’m so hungry. Everything looks delicious."
"You look delicious. I mean the food, it’s delicious, you’re right."
I massaged my neck and I realized that I had said it out loud. What did I just do? But before I responded to Zach, I saw one of the helpers offer some liquor to him. Then I remembered what the plan was. I listed it in my journal.
The helper pours the liquor into Zach’s glass. Then the helper steps out. Zach’s favorite wine was served, and his eyes were sparkling when he saw it being put in his glass.
"This was my favorite," he said, sniffing it from his drink.
I was giggling, and I kindly asked him to toast our glass.
"Let’s toast to our wedding,"
He gave me an awkward smile and shook his head, then he sipped the wine in his glass.
"How was it?"
Zach then began holding his chest and catching his breath. He fell down to his knees. I stood up and checked on him.
"Are you alright, Zach?"
"I’m fine. Trisha, by the way, I want you to know that the first time that I saw you, I was stunned by your beauty. I think I have fallen in love with you.”
"Oh my, Zach. What are you saying? It’s only the second time we met."
He stood up, then he picked the flower from the flower vase on the table. Then he kneeled down and asked that question.
"I don’t have a ring with me, but right now, let me ask you, will you marry me, Trisha?"
I acted shocked and both of my hands covered my mouth. I faked my tears in front of him.
The love potion just worked.
"Of course, Zach. I’m saying "Yes" to your proposal. Let’s get married."
He then hugged me tight and kissed me tenderly on my lips. I embraced him back then and also welcomed his lips to brush against mine. My hands felt how big and sculpted his back was that I couldn’t help but grip it too hard.
I have a thing for large and muscular backs that turns me on. Then his abs were also pressing into my belly while we were kissing so torridly.
Margaux then coughed, which made us both stop kissing.
"You’re enjoying kissing my cousin, Zach?"
"I’m so sorry, you never told me you have such a beautiful cousin here in Margaux."
"Cousin?" I was quick to respond and then I looked at Margaux and her eyebrows creased and she right away changed the topic of our conversation.
"So Zach, you proposed to her? How could you propose to my cousin without even a ring?”
"I’ll propose again, okay? I’ll get the most beautiful ring, the best of the best, of course, because she’s the best thing that I've ever seen in my whole life.”
Butterflies on my stomach. Is this what it feels like? I know that he only took a sip of a love potion, but it was so sincere that I’m sure it came from his heart. The potion only helps him to confess loudly, but even before he took a sip of that wine. From the looks of his eyes, he was already in love.
"Alright, I’ll be heading home now. I’ll get a beautiful ring for my future wife."
"Make sure it’s the most expensive because Trisha wouldn’t want cheap rings. Right, Trisha?"
"That was too much, Margaux," I said in her ear, surprised.
“Of course, I’ll get the most expensive one. Then I’ll tell my parents to arrange our marriage sooner. I’m so excited to marry the apple of my eye."
“Would she be your new Luna? Because she wants to be the Luna and you’re the Alpha. Right, Trisha?”
"What my wife wants, she gets. So it’s no big deal."
My jaw dropped when I heard that from Zach. Margaux then gave me a wink.
"I’m impressed with how you brought that up to him," I whisper in her ear once more.
As soon as Zach left the mansion, I sat on the chair and took a deep breath.
"So how’s the first kiss with Zach?" She giggled like a little girl while holding on to my arms.
"How did we pull that off?" It was so quick that I wasn’t able to give a proper response!"
"Oh, is Astrid getting conscious all of a sudden with Zach?"
"Give me a break, Margaux. I was put on the spot." How am I supposed to react to that? I just came from the dirt, from me being buried, from me being dead in a few hours, coming into life, and then I suddenly have a lunch date with Zach."
"At the very least, you're now married to Zach in the coming days."
My chest was throbbing, and I suddenly felt excitement. Margaux then brings out my journal.
"I read every single page to remind me of your plans." The time we spent playing chess together, the time we spent together in the workshops cutting fabrics, sewing our dresses, and planning our goals for each of us. You want me to be happy, so I want you to."
"So you’re fine with not being a Luna? Because let’s face it, Your father wants you to be the Luna of this pack. "
"No, Astrid. My father understood that we needed to make sacrifices. He's fine not me being Luna as long as I'm married to a Montreal. Elijah doesn’t also want to be the Alpha of this pack. He's been dodging this opportunity for quite some time now. Then I know how badly you want to lead a new pack. I’m here to support you. To be honest, I considered you more like my sister than Melanie."
"Wow, Margaux. It’s overwhelming for me. Hearing this from you, I don't know what to say..."
"You’re now a Devaraugh. You can now drop being Atasha and be Trisha. That’s the new you. Trisha Deveraugh My sister Welcome to the family..."
She gave me a warm embrace and I felt so alive for the first time. I began crying my heart out that I wasn’t able to share with any person. We have different blood. She came from a wealthy family from a different land. However, she’s different. It's my first time to be accepted like this, I’m now a Devaraugh, the future Luna of the Crimson Moon Pack.
