Conceal
Astrid’s Point of View
I can attest to the fact that somebody just used my true name to address me. Someone just called out "Astrid" for whatever reason, but I couldn't see who it was so I can't say for sure who it was. After that, I locate Margaux amidst the crowd of people. I observed her leaving the event, and then I followed her as she headed to her workshop.
When I followed her into that room, I immediately became concerned that I had acted aggressively in some way during that speech I made earlier. As I reached for the doorknob, I was startled to hear my own name being called out, which caused me to gulp.
"Astrid?"
I had my eyes closed and was pondering the identity of the person who was following me. I had not yet turned around to see who it was, so I bit my lower lip nervously while waiting.
"Didn’t you remember me?"
I racked my brain for a name to put to the voice. The tone of his voice was reminiscent of a man in his middle years. Did he already know what I was hiding? Why am I engaging in this event with the Crimson Moon Pack as a Deveraugh? The entire system of my being was rattled, and then I heard him speak once more.
"Astridavid? Come on, you do remember me now? "
When he started laughing with another person, my brows knitted together in confusion. After that, I whirled around and gave a quick peek to see who had tried to approach me. After that, I observed two men give each other a hug.
"Glad to see you here, Astridavid. By the way, why are you running away from me?"
"Because I hate you so much."
After Astridavid's response, they were both laughing, and while I was still there, I just palmed my face and I almost stopped beating in my chest. If it were revealed that I was a member of the Silver Moon Pack, all of my hopes and goals would be shattered into a million pieces.
They even noticed me, "Trisha! Hello our beautiful Luna" and they waved their hand in greeting to me. I had no choice but to smile and nod in response to their greetings. After entering the workshop, I proceeded inside to find Margaux.
"Margaux, are you here?"
After that, I looked over and saw her sobbing in the far corner. I didn't waste any time and went to her right away to see how she was doing.
"Margaux? Is there something wrong? "
"Trisha, did you see what you did right there?"
"I’m sorry, I didn’t know. I thought that it would be necessary for us to send a message to your... to our relatives."
"You are right, but Trisha ought not to be approached in such a manner. We have raised their expectations to such a level at this point. It's fine if I don't marry Elijah. I understand. Once they get back to their homes, they will bring it up as a topic of discussion in every single one of those daily conversations, even though I am certain that it will not happen anytime soon."
"I’m so sorry Margaux, it’s not my intention."
"Now that it’s out there, we should do whatever it takes to find Elijah and figure out his whereabouts."
"Absolutely, that’s my main goal." That’s part of our plan, right? "
After that, she gave me an embrace and apologized for what she had just said. Earlier, when she was speaking, I could hear the strain in her voice. I was aware of how serious it was, as well as how I had raised the bar for what I had done earlier in the event.
***
The next day, I was now seated at a table with my new parents and my family of Zach was at the same table. Zach's sister was so silent during the entire lunch; that she wasn't even touching her food.
While Alpha Gregory and his Beta Drogo truly enjoyed each other's company, From the looks of it, Zach is also participating in their conversation. I don't feel now that he was an outsider or a black sheep just like what I heard from him way back when I first met him during Atasha's examination.
"Basically, we're already set for the wedding tomorrow. Is that right, Alpha Gregory?"
"To be honest, we're truly ready that we can initiate the wedding today."
"Excellent. I'm very happy to hear it, Alpha. "Zach and Atasha would be so perfect to lead the new pack."
"That's right. Drogo, I'm now feeling a bit sad that I'll be no longer the Alpha. But then I realized, after a long talk with Zach, that I knew he would be perfect for this position. He is now ready."
"Thank you so much, Dad. I appreciate it." Zach then grinned and sipped from his glass of wine.
"Trisha, are you ready to bear hundreds of pups?"
"Dad, what are you talking about?" Zach almost choked on the wine that he drank from his cup.
"I'm happy to bear a lot. I'm also excited to bring future leaders of the Crimson Moon Pack."
"That's a good answer, Trisha, so let's toast to this day. Let's celebrate tomorrow's wedding of Trisha and Zach. "
We raised our glass and toast to each other, then I glanced at Margaux's face, a bit gloomy. The moment that she saw me glancing at her, she immediately smiled at me.
"Anything alright? Margaux, "
"Yes, of course," she whispers, then proceeds to sip on her glass. I then glanced at Veronica, who is Zach and Elijah's sister, but she was just not participating at all and she had just begun to touch her food now that we were all drinking.
After our lunch, I tried to reach out to her and introduce myself.
"Hello, Veronica, nice to meet you."
"Hi Trisha, it's good to see you here."
"Hoping to see you at the wedding tomorrow."
She smirked and walked past me... "Of course, I'll come tomorrow, I can't miss that one big event right?"
I then glanced at her as she left and talked to Margaux. I know that bitch doesn't approve of our wedding. Good thing that has a scar on my right cheek, and I was painting my eyes and making it more a bit bigger to ensure that I wouldn't be looked like Atasha because she would notice that I looked like her the moment that I removed my cosmetics.
