929 Right Before Leaving

"Right, forgot to tell you this, but apart from being an expert at poisoning, I'm also a spiritual practitioner of the Mystic class." Yao Wang said dully with a look at Chu Pengzhan. His tone made it clear that this was a warning.

"Give us an answer in two days!" Li Cihua and Yao Wang stood up and walked out of Pengzhan's office as if the deed had already been done.

Although it was true that they have indeed won—from the way Pengzhan acted today—it was clear that he had nothing to retort with. But he let someone as powerful as Lin Yi join in and that caused the direct conflict with another superpower, Zhao Qibin. Naturally, that'd be fine if Lin Yi continued to stay by Pengzhan's side, but the instant something went wrong with Lin Yi, it was only expected that Qibin would pounce.

Pengzhan finally understood this. It seemed like they had the upper hand, that he was the dominant party… But it turned out that that hadn't been the right thing to do!

At Guan Xuemin's house, Lin Yi shook his head after ending the call with Pengzhan. The sudden appearance of House Xiao made Lin Yi feel helpless. There was nothing he could do! It wasn't a good feeling for him at all!

Despite it all, as long as he hasn't left, he was still employed by Pengzhan. But now it seemed like he had to pin his hopes on the new master Pengzhan employed.

"Boss? What's wrong? Is there trouble?" Fatty Lai said as if sensing something was up with one look at Lin Yi's furrowed eyebrows.

"It's nothing…" Lin Yi smiled bitterly. He was barely able to protect himself now. There wasn't anything he could do for Pengzhan.

He inhaled a deep breath. Everything the enemy did to him today… He would eventually pay them back in full!

"Uncle Guan, Fatty Lai, I'm leaving Songshan… I've come here today to say goodbye." Lin Yi said as he pushed down the thirst for vengeance inside him, calmly speaking to the two men in front of him before looking at Xiaobo. "I'll leave things to you guys!"

"Ah? Boss? You're leaving? Why??" Fatty Lai jumped up from the sofa—he thought that Lin Yi had called him to talk business, to discuss potential strategies for the company, not to say goodbye!

"Yes, I'm injured, and my abilities… I'm basically crippled, with many enemies around me…" Lin Yi said as he explained his situation to the three.

Guan Xin, on the other hand, was coming into the room with tea as she heard LinYi's announcement that he was leaving… She froze on the spot, and dropped the teacups onto the floor, shattering them as the tea spilled and spread…

"Ah… I'm sorry…" Guan Xin realized that she'd lost composure, and quickly crouched down the pick up the pieces. Her heart, however, was as downcast as could be. Was Lin Yi really leaving, this soon?

Her relationship with him… Nothing had even started yet. Was it about to end before that?

Her mind went blank that instant, her heart going into a flutter of chaos. Her smooth hands cut themselves on the glass, and blood drew, breaking her out of her blank gaze.

"Xin Xin, are you okay? Be more careful!" Xuemin said, worried as he looked at the blood coming out.

"It's okay, just a scratch… I'll be more careful." Guan Xin said a little embarrassed.

Having handled so many wounds every day, Guan Xin was no stranger to blood. She simply went to take care of her own injury.

"Fatty Lai, give her a bottle of our medicine. You brought a lot of samples today, right?" Lin Yi said observantly.

"Yes, boss…" Fatty Lai's face was no better off than Gaun Xin's, full of sadness at the thought of Lin Yi leaving. The more he thought about it, the sadder he got. Tears started to form in his eyes… and he started crying.

He'd even brought some samples over because Lin Yi called him over, assuming that they were about to discuss the opening of the new product… At least the medicine was seeing some action.

"It's not like I won't come back? I'm just leaving to hide things out, I'll come back once my strength is back!" Lin Yi said. "It wouldn't affect the medicine company."

"Boss, but my life will become grey and meaningless if I can't see you!" Fatty Lai said sadly as he applied the medicine to Guan Xin before wagging his butt sadly and running to Lin Yi. "Don't leave, boss! Don't leave me, waaaah!"
