930 Guan Xuemin's Suggestion

Xiaobo was the first one to learn that Lin Yi was leaving. He had heard it from Tang Yin, who told Liu Xingwen and Xiao-Fen that she was going with Lin Yi back to his old home. Naturally, Xiaobo was notified as well.

He might have been composed and dignified now, but his heart was as miserable as Fatty Lai's! He didn't know Lin Yi for very long, but Lin Yi had become his true brother, his friend! And he treated Lin Yi as his boss!

Tang Yin had already tried her hand, and in the end, she was leaving with him instead of keeping Lin Yi in Songshan! Xiaobo even had the impulse to follow suit and bring Xiao Fen with him to find Lin Yi, but he managed to control himself. That wouldn't be loyalty, it'd just be messing around.

"Stay? What suggestion?" Lin Yi blinked and looked at him.

"Yi, what do you think of Xin Xin?" Xuemin said after a deep breath.

"Wha?" Lin Yi's eyes widened as he listened to Xuemin. Pengzhan had just said the same type of thing to him earlier—so naturally, Lin Yi knew what Xuemin was getting at!

Could it be that he wanted Lin Yi to be his son-in-law as well? Damn, it seemed like things were working out quite well for him in this department?

"Grandpa Guan, why are you suddenly asking this?" But Lin Yi pretended as if he didn't understand. "Guan Xin's a nice girl, she's pretty, and a great cook…"

Naturally, you don't need me to teach you any medicine, but I do have the name. Your enemies wouldn't come bothering you then! I may be but a scholar, but the world's noble houses and the high ups at Yanjin do give me respect. With me around, they wouldn't touch you!"

Guan Xuemin was by no means boasting- Lin Yi understood that if he accepted the offer here, as pissed as Qibin would become, he wouldn't be able to publicly go against Xuemin! After all, Xuemin had the support of a whole bunch of noble houses and powerful people!

"I…" Lin Yi really didn't know how to respond now! Guan Xin was right there, too, so if he rejected straight out it'd hurt the girl, and that wasn't what he wanted.

But he did have some feelings for Guan Xin, despite the fact that it wasn't enough for him to stay under the roof of the Guan's house and enjoy their love.

"I'll take my leave first then, Grandpa Guan. I'll leave the company to you and Fatty Lai." Lin Yi shrugged a little self-mockingly before standing up. There wasn't much for him to say in a situation like this, and he couldn't really butt in affairs of Guan Xuemin's household.

"Alright, but do give a call before you leave. I'll send you off!" Xuemin said after sighing, understanding that his suggestion wasn't plausible anymore as he nodded apologetically to Lin Yi.
