Chapter One Hundred and eight
Third Person's POV;
Caleb stayed seated in his office for a few minutes, surfing through a few reports of patients that topped his desk.
His cellphone soon buzzed and without looking he picked up the call.
"Hey Caleb."
The voice was somewhat familiar but he couldn't place it. So, he pulled the phone away from his ear saw that it was Amy. Another one of the women he had been flirting with.
"My heartbeat," he gave one of his flirty grins as he went about serenading with his saccharine sweet words.
Amy, on the other end, was a blushing mess and unfortunately felt like she had found the man for her. Their first meeting and how he looked at her made her all sappy on the inside and she thought he felt the same way for her. She had no idea she was being played just like a string of several other unsuspecting women who Caleb claimed to be in a never ending 'talking stage' with.
"I'll be coming over to the hospital today." She announced after the corny lines were done and over with from his end.
"Oh, are you sure? You know I'll be really busy over here."
"Er, I just need to see my brother and if you're free by the time I'm leaving, I could come over to your office." She had said a little too eager for his liking.
"Your brother?" He asked trying to place the face of the woman who was calling him because yes, he had so many, he lost track of everything that had to do with them.
"Yes, I-"
A knock came through his door and before he could answer it, the person on the other end had rudely walked in without his permission. He hung up before she could finish speaking.
Caleb eyed the buff man attired in a black suit with a tie and black inner shirt. The dark sunshades as well as the wireless earpiece gave off this man's occupation without a second thought.
"You've been summoned by the boss. Be there in five minutes." The stoic man said and walked away without waiting for a response from him.
He was fully aware of the person who had called for his presence. The same deathly cold man that had him cowering. How stupid of him to hit on that man's wife! But let's face it, that woman was worth the trouble.
Him bedding a Spanish beauty of that sort would be a conquest to remember and with their marriage most probably hitting the rocks, from all that he had heard, was perfect for him.
He said a silent prayer, hoping he would come out of the Lion's den unscathed. That man was more intimidating than he thought.
He nervously but quickly made his way over to the floor where the VIP was situated.
He found the dashing grey eyed man seated on the bed obviously waiting for him. His eyes subtly roamed the room in search of the wife but she was no where in sight. Bummer.
"I'd like to discuss something with you Caleb Phillips Turner."
A surge of spine breaking cold ran through him even as cold sweat crowded his face and his legs shook. But, he quickly regained, not wanting to give anything away.
"Shocked that I found out you're not the Caleb Davis you pose to be?"
"I don't know what you're talking about sir." He tried steadying his voice but in the end he gave off the nervous fear-filled vibe Damien was expecting.
"Of course you don't." The grey eyed man gave off a sarcastic chuckle.
"You really do want to lose your license and the opportunity to work in any hospital in the whole of USA."
The underlying threat did not go unnoticed by him and his legs visibly shook in response.
"What do you want sir? Anything you want I'll get it done." He practically went on his knees to plead with the man who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying this.
"Now we're talking." Damien had said with a mock sigh of approval.
"It's pretty simple, tell my wife that I cannot be allowed to sleep alone in the process of my recovery. It is imperative she shares a bedroom with me."
The order was pretty trivial and confused poor Caleb more than it relieved him.
"But, but, why sir?"
Damien had his eyes narrowed at the doctor.
"And, how is that any of your business?"
"I apologize sir."
"Do as I say and there wouldn't be any problems."
"Yes sir." He conceded. It wasn't like he had a choice anyways. He spun around to exit the room.
"One more thing, Caleb."
He shut his eyes and slowly turned back.
"Stay away from my wife and sister." The warning was clear and had dire consequences if flouted.
It was then that he remembered the girl who had called him just before he came here.
Shit. He cussed in his thoughts. He couldn't face either of those women after this.
"You may leave." Damien ordered coldly and he managed to straighten himself once again before leaving the room.
So much for a Spanish conquest...

Ariana's POV;
"Is he even supposed to be using his laptop right now? And, why is he telling me to go get it? Drew can get it."
My complaining had Miguel laughing heartily in the front seat.
I was currently seated in the back of Damien's vehicle going to the villa because he had suddenly realized that he needed his laptop for something and insisted I go get it. It came out of the blue. Whatever it was we needed, we had someone in the house bring it over whenever they visited so why was he insisting?
Miguel's laughter made me a little suspicious but I shrugged it off because I knew I sounded like a kid whenever I got like this. Miguel's phone rang and I barely heard the conversation because I was trying to solve the mystery.
Soon the car came to a brief halt and eventually took a U-turn back to where we were coming from.
"What's going on?" I asked a little concernedly.
"Boss says he doesn't need the laptop anymore as he'll be discharged tomorrow morning."
My nose scrunched up, as my lips pulled themselves in and my eyes reduced to slits.
I perceived foul play. That husband of mine was up to something and this time around I wasn't going to give him a chance to play games with me.
The few minutes ride to the hospital went by with me plotting how to make Damien's plans, whatever they were, fall through.
"Damien!" I exclaimed as I marched into the room.
"Babe,"
"What are you up to? Why did you have me leave the hospital and return for a silly reason?"
I had my hands akimbo - my signature pose - as I glared at him.
"I thought Miguel already explained why you had to turn back. I'm going to be discharged tomorrow." He gave me one of his swoon-worthy grins that usually made my heart skip a beat.
"You're up to something, I can feel it." My eyes turned to slits
His brows went up slowly and his eyes held questions when he stared at me.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about you having something up your sleeves and whatever it is, I'm going to find out and squash your plans!" I squeezed my right palm shut and demonstrated crushing a fruit in it, a tomato maybe.
My eyes reduced to slits when I saw his Adam apple bob as he swallowed, looking a little guilty.
My two fingers gradually pointed at my eyes then back to his, indicating that I had my eyes on him.
With all said and done, I walked away from him to pack up for our exit from the hospital the next morning.

The next day rolled around quickly and Caleb as well as the family doctor came to clear us out.
"He should take his meds religiously."
"He may have to go through severe headaches from time to time until the concussion heals."
"He has to come for regular checkups and be sure to report any unusual developments that need to be medically attended to."
The doctors doled out the instructions to me one after the other and I kept nodding, subtly memorizing everything.
"Erm, Mr Kingston?" Dr. Kingsley called out to Damien who had been listening with rapt attention.
"Yes, Doctor?"
"I'd advise you refrain from any bedroom activities for now until you're fully recovered and out of harms way."
"My wife wouldn't let me even if I tried in this condition. So sure doctor."
"Damien!" I whisper yelled as I fought back the red tint that had framed my cheeks.
"But it's true babe, you're so protective." He said with his tongue in his cheek.
I was so embarrassed.
"Er erm. You two do have to sleep together though. Your husband needs to have someone by his side in case of any emergencies." Caleb quipped.
I swiftly turned to him then back to Damien. Why did I feel like there was more to that statement?
"Okay." I played along. I saw from the corner of my eye that Damien was fighting back a triumphant grin.
"Thank you doctors, I'll make sure my baby's well taken care of." I said and placed a chaste kiss on his nose and bit my lower lip, giving him a seductive grin that made his eyes go darker in lust.
Gotcha! I thought.
Two can play this game, Damien.
