Chapter 52 Seaside
<Mia>
He pulled me and said, "Wait! Can I hitch a ride?" Hermoine tried to stop us. I closed my eyes. When will this guy leave me alone?
"I'm just going to the Plaza," he added.
"Let's go." I pulled Ethan, but Hermoine ran towards us.
"Handsome, can I ride with you, huh?" Hermoine said, seeking Ethan's permission.
Does he have another plan? What is he up to now? He's too attention-seeking. Maybe he lacks attention and care from his parents. Maybe that's why he's acting this way.
"No! Get out!" Ethan's sternly ordered Hermoine, who was trying to get in the car. I blocked the door to prevent him from entering. I'm uncomfortable with him riding with us, knowing him, he's a crazy guy with no money.
Ethan remained silent, perhaps okay with it and had no problem.
Hermoine pretended to sit in the back seat, smiling widely.
"Who told you that I'll let you ride with us?" Ethan asked him coldly.
"Such a rude guy," Hermoine acted, "I just want to hitch a ride, handsome."
"No! Get out!" Ethan firmly kicked him out, but the crazy guy pretending to be gay was insisting.
Ethan called his secretary in the driver's seat because Hermoine wouldn't leave, and he wasn't intimidated by Ethan.
"Are you going out, or do you want me to kill you here?" Ethan asked him with a terrifying look in his eyes. Hermoine didn't back down, but I could tell he didn't like being treated this way. He didn't want to be bullied.
"Damn it! I don't want to!" Hermoine reacted when he was forcibly pulled out of the van by Ethan's secretary.
"Damn it! Be more careful!" Hermoine complained as he was reluctantly let go by the secretary.
Ethan pushed me inside and sat beside me, locking the door to prevent the crazy guy from entering. How shameless can he be? Isn't he wanted for running away from his debts? He's fooled so many people.
The handsome guy I saw earlier also sat in the passenger seat with Ethan's secretary as the driver. We left Hermoine sulking by the seaside, without any money or a single peso. He'd rather starve than show himself to me.
"He is not gay. I don't want to see you with him again," Ethan said seriously as the car moved away. He didn't seem happy, and I couldn't tell if he was angry. He had no expression and kept his gaze forward.
"This is the last time I am seeing you with him."
I nodded.
"Did you escape because you had plans to meet him?"
Wow! He's even blaming me, when he was with Fairy and didn't even tell me about it.
"I'm tired; I don't want to argue with you." I cut him off. I knew where this conversation was heading. I'm advanced in thinking.
"I'm tired too! I am tired from hospitals, from work. I'm tired from everything!" He frustratedly said.
So, it's my fault?
"If you're tired, then rest!"
"Seriously, wife? When are you going to listen to me?" He asked with a reproachful tone, facing me.
"Well, when did you learn how to lie? Once Fairy appeared, you changed like this to me!"
He furrowed his brows.
"What are you talking about?"
He pretends to be righteous, but I know the truth.
"Hey! Just relax, Uncle! I'm here." The guy in the passenger seat suddenly interrupted.
Even his voice is handsome.
I saw him earlier, he has a sharp nose and thick eyebrows, and his full lips were slightly red. He's handsome, but he's short. There's a significant height difference between him and Ethan.
He's also masculine, wearing a tight neon green shirt and sweat pants, matched with rubber shoes. He looks like he has a mix of races.
"Introduce me to your wife, Uncle." He said again.
I bet he's also a doctor. I can feel his aura and strong presence.
"You already know her. Why do I need to introduce?" Ethan asked coldly, and his nephew laughed at him.
"You're so grumpy." I heard his nephew say.
I looked at Ethan when he suddenly held my hand.
"By the way, Mrs., I am his nephew, and I'm a kidney doctor." He introduced himself. He's in front of me, so I can't see him.
He leaned over, and I saw his face up close. Damn it! I might become a girl; he's so handsome! He has a mix of races! I feel like I'm melting with his handsomeness. He has thick eyebrows and large ears, but the nose job ruined his nose tip.
Ethan suddenly covered my eyes with his palm, so I couldn't see his nephew.
He's so handsome! But he's short. I don't like short guys; I might end up with a dwarf family.
"You're staring at him!" Ethan said softly, giving me a stern look.
I smiled at him cutely, "Your nephew is handsome. Is he of mixed race? Does he have a girlfriend?" I whispered to him. I slightly moved closer to him, so he could hear me.
He gave me an annoyed look.
"Do you like him?" He asked me unbelievably.
I'll pretend to be feminine.
"And why are you wearing makeup and that outfit?" He looked me up and down.
I leaned my head on his arm and hugged him with my free hand, "Do I look attractive?" I looked at him, and his face turned red.
"You look stunning," he said softly, avoiding eye contact.
"And your... uh... cleavage." He glanced away, his face turning red again. I looked down at my cleavage, and I playfully slapped him, "You're so rude!" He laughed.
"Earlier, you were arguing, now you're being affectionate," his nephew remarked.
"Shut up, Jigs!" He scolded the guy beside me.
His nephew seemed cheerful, but this man was sullen, grumpy, and surly.
"I like your outfit. I want to always see you in that outfit," he whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. Here comes that strange feeling again.
"Shut up! Go to your Fairy!" I slapped him to keep his face away from mine.
"Are you jealous of her? You keep saying her name," he frowned. He pulled me closer by my waist and played with my fingers.
"Not at all! How dare you! She's sexy, but if I lose weight, I might surpass her!" I retorted, moving my head slightly away from him.
Ethan chuckled.
"You are actually sexy," he said, squeezing my belly, making me slap him on the arm, but he just laughed even more.
"You're annoying!" I said, irritated.
"You are gorgeous and sexy, wife," he said in a husky voice, giving me butterflies in my stomach, so I slapped him harder.
"Sadist," he whispered, pulling me into his embrace again.
"Do you want to eat?" he asked me.
"Just be quiet," I snapped at him.
He listened and held my hand.
"Does your nephew have a girlfriend?"
He gave me a stern look, "Why are you suddenly interested in him?" There was bitterness in his voice.
"Just curious," I replied, moving aside.
"He's married."
"Hey! I'm not married yet! I'm still a bachelor!" His nephew quickly retorted.
"Single and not ready to mingle," his nephew said, looking at me.
"Stop talking to him," Ethan said grumpily.
Jigs laughed, "Wow, Uncle, you're jealous!" He teased, and I laughed too.
We didn't have a peaceful trip back home.
"What's your standard for a woman?" I initiated a conversation. Maybe he would like Lorena. I still wanted to put Lorena on the right path.
"Beautiful inside and out. Intelligent, talented, and always ready in bed," he said playfully.
Yuck! I'm not interested in him; he's a pervert. No wonder he gives me those lascivious looks.
"Do you know you could be a male dancer?" I couldn't hold back my comment. He seems so flirtatious.
"Wife..." Ethan tried to stop me, but I ignored him and glared at him.
My life didn't go well, and each day wasn't pleasant. I reluctantly worked at my dad's company to show him that I changed. I wouldn't repeat the same mistakes, and I wouldn't regret my actions anymore. But I still haven't learned my lesson.
We won't stop encountering the same thing until we learn. It will keep on happening until we realize the lesson. Mia's translation.
I might have to hire an assassin to get rid of Hermoine. I'll put him in a suitcase after he's dead and throw it near the sea. I'll make it look like he committed suicide inside the suitcase, and the sea carried away his dreams with him.
"Why do you still know about me?" My boss asked me, as I was meddling in their project.
"I'm not, sir. I'm just suggesting," I said calmly.
He ignored me and focused on the drawing of a building. "We need to send three architects," he told his secretary.
I secretly checked my phone; there were no calls or texts from that guy yet. He should have called by this hour. Is he busy with Fairy? What are they doing? Is he seducing that stick of a girl?
He has been busy for days, and we haven't talked much. He initiated to pick me up from work, but I insisted on going home alone. I've only been working here for two days.
I can't focus on my work because he's on my mind, and I wonder what he's doing behind my back. I can't calm down. He's older, married, and maybe still fooling around.
"Mrs. Mendoza, are you listening?" My boss called my attention. I didn't know why I was included in this meeting; it's obvious that the others here are more professional and skilled than me. One of them just arrived from abroad and applied here, and we were hired at the same time.
"Yes, sir!" I nervously replied.
Both my boss and Pops are bald. They're friends.
"We need to consider the budget," one of them said,
and they seemed to be contributing ideas.
"I don't need your concern regarding the budget. I want to see a unique design for the building," my boss replied firmly.
What are they talking about? My mind keeps wandering. We've been in this meeting room for two hours, and we're not done yet. We're inside my boss's office. Honestly, I find his office distasteful; it's small and has an aesthetic pink wall. Eww! Is he a Barbie?
"I have the draft, you may take a look. That design is inspired by Europe," said the foreign guy as he handed over the draft he mentioned.
"We need a huge budget for that," countered another person. I'm not sure of their positions; all I know is that this person has been trying to show off since earlier.
"We can make this a tourist spot," said my boss as he examined the design.
