Chapter 57 Amanda
<Mia>
"What did you do again, huh!"
I closed my eyes and held onto Ethan's hand tightly.
"You're humiliating me, really! Why can't you be more like your sister? All you bring is shame to the family!"
I let out a sigh in my mind.
"Watch your words," Ethan said firmly.
I hid behind him while he calmly faced my angry father. I just wanted to be a freelancer and be lazy. I hate working, I hate waking up early in the morning. I'm not a morning person.
My life would have been perfect if my family wasn't so dictatorial. And why is he comparing me to my sister? We're different individuals.
"I don't want my wife to work. It was my decision," Ethan said, lying for me again. How many times has he lied for me?
"What? I want her to work!" Pops snapped at Ethan.
"This is me and my wife's business. Mia is under my responsibility. Why do you still interrupt? I'll ban you from my house if you embarrass my wife again. This is our marriage, and you're out of it," Ethan threatened and stared him down.
Pops left angrily, embarrassed by the encounter. I just looked at Ethan, and he sighed before hugging me.
<Mia>
I hugged my wife back, and my heart suddenly raced.
Ethan has an effect on me. I looked up to see him, feeling something I couldn't explain.
He looked at me and kissed my forehead for a few seconds. My husband has done so much for me.
I've had a boyfriend before, and I've been attracted to both men and women. It's not wrong for me to be attracted to my husband.
I tiptoed and kissed him on the lips. I felt him surprised. I knew he didn't expect me to kiss him.
Ethan never forced me to have sex with him, and he never pushed me into doing things I didn't like. No matter how many times I refused, he never pressured me.
He kissed me back and bent down a bit so that I could reach him more easily. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
He kissed me passionately, and I did the same.
We were in the middle of an intense kiss when I heard something break.
"Oops!"
We stopped kissing and both looked in the direction of the noise. My face turned red when I saw Rose picking up the broken item in a fluster.
"Sorry," she said nervously, unable to look at us.
She caught us kissing.
I looked at Ethan, and he took my hand and led me to our room. He locked the door and kissed me.
Neither of us spoke, and our bodies were both wanting the same thing.
We did it.
I woke up to Ethan's face greeting me. He looked tired. I snuggled up to him and hugged his bare body.
When I woke up again, Ethan wasn't beside me, but I saw a note placed next to the lampshade.
"I didn't dress you because I know you're tired. I prepared your bath so your body can relax."
With a smiley face.
I decided to take a bath because I felt sticky.

"What the fuck are you doing here!" Ethan angrily asked his mother when he saw her.
His mother looked fine.
"M-my son," she called out to him with a smile.
How dare she call him son? She doesn't have the right to call him son after abandoning him.
"She's still your mother, Ethan," his grandfather said.
"Why did you let her enter the house? And who is she?" Nate asked his grandfather, avoiding eye contact with his mother.
"Nate, son.. Ethan," their mother called out to them.
"Don't you recognize me anymore? It's me, your mother," she said with tears in her eyes, about to hug them but both twins avoided her.
"I don't have a mother," Nate said bitterly and full of anger.
How dare she show up after abandoning them? They had only seen her twice in their whole lives, and now she expects them to treat her like a mother?
"Nate, why are you being like this towards your mother? She's still your mother. I gave birth to you, and if it weren't for me, you wouldn't be in this world. You owe your lives to me and your twin," she said, smiling and looking at their faces.
Nathan felt like he was about to explode with anger because of what Amanda was saying.
"Forget about what happened. What's important is that your mother is here now," their grandpa said, "your mother almost died when she gave birth to both of you, so you should not disrespect her," he said calmly.
Nate heaved a deep sigh, trying to calm himself. He felt like he was about to burst with all the things he was hearing.
"So you're saying, grandpa, that we should consider her feelings? What about us? Huh! Did you ever think about how lonely we felt, not having any parents to take care of us? Fucking shit! I never felt like I had a mother! Those fucking lonely times when I was a kid nearly killed me!" Nathan yelled, clenching his fists tightly.
"You're not my mother, and I don't have a mother. I'm already grown up, and I don't need you anymore. You abandoned us," Ethan said in a deep voice, looking into his mother's eyes, "you fucking prostitute!" He couldn't control himself.
"I hate you!" And Ethan walked out.
"Son! Ethan, come back here!" his mother called after him.
Nathan stared at his mother blankly, "how dare you show up to us. Do you need money, that's why you're here, huh?"
Nathan received a slap.
"You're such a rude child. Don't you have any respect?" His mother scolded him.
"Yeah, I don't have respect because my mother abandoned me! She didn't raise me, so don't expect me to be kind to you!"
"Nathan, be quiet! I will kick you out of this house!" his grandfather threatened.
He chuckled sarcastically, "you, too, grandpa," he said with bitterness, "you're a favoritist! You always want to be in control, and we don't have the right to make mistakes or do what we want! You're a controlling freak! And I hate that I grew up in this family!" Nathan said angrily and left the house.
"Nathan, come back here! You and your brother are so disrespectful! After all I've done to feed, dress, and educate both of you!" she called out to him.
Her grandfather said something, but Nathan couldn't hear it as he was already far away.
A few moments later.
Mia was pacing back and forth in the living room because she couldn't reach her husband. His cell phone was turned off, and he hadn't come home yet. They had a happy breakfast earlier, and he didn't want to leave. He only left the house when he received a call.
She called the mansion, but they said her husband wasn't there.
She almost jumped when she heard the car engine. She looked out the window and saw her husband's car.
She stared at the window, wondering why it was taking him so long to get out of the car.
It had been twelve hours since he arrived. Where did he go?
Her forehead furrowed when he stumbled out of the car, seemingly drunk.
He got drunk without even telling her? He usually informed her when he's going to drink and who he's with. She always had assurance, so she could sleep peacefully at night.
Unable to hold back any longer, she went out to assist her husband.
"W-wife.." he called out drunkenly when he saw her.
Ethan cooperated with her. It wasn't difficult to guide him into their room.
"Why did you drink, huh?" she scolded Ethan.
Instead of answering her, Ethan pulled her hand and hugged her.
"Don't leave me," he whispered weakly, "please.. Don't leave m-me," he repeated, sounding afraid of losing her.
She tried to break free from his hug because she couldn't breathe anymore, but Ethan held her tighter. What happened to him? He's not fond of drinking, and he doesn't come home drunk. Moreover, he drove while drunk; what if something happened to him?
"Ethan," she called his name softly.
"Don't leave me.. I'll die if you leave.. Please, don't leave me like what she did."
Her heart skipped a beat. Who is he referring to? Her? Is there another woman involved?
She felt him start to cry, and she became even more confused.
She tried to gently pull away from his embrace and cupped his face.
"Ethan, what's happening, huh?"
"Wife, please don't leave me," he pleaded like a scared child. He seemed terrified of being left behind.
"I'm right here. I won't leave you," she assured him and wiped away his tears. This was the first time she saw him cry, "I won't leave you," she murmured, trying to calm him.
"I need you.. Don't.. Leave me," he kept repeating his plea.
"Yes, I won't leave you."
She didn't know what to do; Ethan seemed like a vulnerable chick, crying and begging her not to leave him. She felt a pang of sympathy, not used to seeing him like this.
They spent the whole night hugging each other. Ethan didn't want to let her go, even when she needed to use the restroom. He wanted to accompany her everywhere. He was like a scared child, terrified of being left alone.
