Chapter 8 Ngi
<Third Person>
ETHAN is preparing a birthday surprise for Mia.
He contacted the receptionist to help him in his preparation. He ordered their expensive dishes from their menu.
He intends to take her to another country, specifically China, as she desires to taste authentic Chinese dumplings. Mia expressed her preference for dumplings made in China rather than those made in the Philippines.
Ethan has two options: either China or Singapore.
He asked for leave again to prepare for her birthday.
They plan to visit Florence, Italy next, once the laboratory construction is complete. The budget is still quite tight at the moment.
He is also planning their wedding in a church.
She deserves to have a church wedding, and he is determined to make her dream come true.
But first, they need to work on their marriage.
He wants to give Mia a memorable birthday.
He looks at his phone screen.
Confidence slowly fades away, leaving him feeling uncertain.
It's almost 8 in the evening, and she still hasn't returned home.
Today is October 11, her birthday.
In the next three months, they will be celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary.
Suddenly, he hears a knock on the door.
"Sir, here's the wine you ordered," the delivery person announces. He offers a slight smile to the woman.
"Thank you."
It's just a simple dinner, but he hopes she will appreciate it. Knowing Mia, she's often filled with side comments and whimsical thoughts; He chuckles at the idea.
There are two candlelights in the middle of the table and a bouquet of sunflowers with three roses on it.
Ethan waited for Mia all night until morning, but his wife never showed up. He searched the entire hotel and asked around, but no one had seen her. Her phone kept ringing.
He couldn't report her as missing to the police because it hadn't been 24 hours yet.
Then, at 3 am, he received a text from her saying she had arrived home.
"I just got home."

The next day, Yunnie's family and I travelled to Del Carmen in Siargao. We only stayed there for one day and then returned home.
My body was in so much pain.
As I entered the house, the first thing my eyes caught sight of was a dog's cage. I approached it.
"You're so cute."
I took the dog that was inside and lifted it.
"Why is there a dog here?" I wondered to myself.
I sat down on the sofa.
This dog is only two months old. It has a fluffy coat and a single colour. Its eyes are also big.
"Hello." I gently stroked her head.
I lifted her to determine her gender.
"Oh, you're a girl."
She is incredibly adorable.
I wonder why there's a dog in the house. It seems like it was bought, maybe by Ethan. Some unopened belongings might belong to him.
I wonder where that guy is. I haven't heard any news about him.
Buying a dog and then abandoning it. It's such a shame.
I took the dog's food from the side and I scolded it.
It looked embarrassed.
"Don't be shy." It went to a corner.
It's thin.
"Isn't your owner feeding you?"
I approached it. And it smelled terrible.
Not only is it not being fed, but it hasn't been bathed either. Oh well.
I decided to bath it because it smells.

"Whoa! Am I hallucinating?" Kieffer rubbed his eyes and widened them even more. He turned his face towards Ethan.
Ethan had just arrived.
Ethan didn't react at all to Kieffer's surprised reaction.
"Who invited this idiot?" Kieffer smiled mischievously, took a seat in an empty chair, and ignored his wife - Quvenzhane
"Sit here, Quvenzhane." Toirdhealbhach tapped the seat beside him.
Quvenzhane looked at it and found herself sitting next to Kieffer.
She smiled at Toirdhealbhach and settled beside him. She was sandwiched between him and her husband.
"Isn't he running a fever?" Kieffer asked his companions. As he approached, he noticed Ethan's figure and what he was wearing.
Kieffer was wearing a blue and white striped polo shirt, while Ethan had his usual outfit—a coat and a plain white t-shirt, along with pants and shoes.
Kieffer was taken aback to see Ethan sitting there quietly, sipping his drink. Ethan never joined them whenever they went out, especially when they were drinking. He took his role as a responsible doctor and husband very seriously.
"We're not sure either, but he said he would come," Adagio replied.
"Maybe he's got a fever?" Moonraker chimed in.
"Where's the one with the long name among us? Isn't he supposed to come?" Thunderball asked, taking another sip of his drink.
"Tan, Shunga already delivered the dog to your house. Nobody was home, so she went in. he said you didn't lock the house," Moonraker said to Ethan.
Ethan didn't answer.
"Did you fight with your wife? This is unusual for you," Thunderball teased, taking another swig of alcohol.
They all teased Ethan.
"Ah, you idiot! Maybe he bought the dog from Shunga to give it to his wife," Moonraker guessed. "But she didn't like it, so they had a fight, and that's why he's here now, venting his frustrations." Thunderball and Toirdhealbhach burst into laughter at Moonraker's conclusion; they are talking about Ethan.
They continued teasing Ethan until they changed the topic.
"Do you want a drink?" Toirdhealbhach asked Quvenzhane sweetly. She nodded sweetly in response.
Kieffer's smile faded when he heard Toirdhealbhach, so he put his arm around his wife.
They caught up with each other, and Ethan remained quiet on the side, as he usually was. He was the silent type, not much of a talker.
They began discussing their work.

Mia opened her eyes.
Mia saw an ugly lady in front of her.
"What are you doing here?!" Mia was startled when her face was the first thing she saw. Mia quickly stood up, and they bumped into each other.
"Ouch, Mia!" she complained, holding her forehead where they had collided.
"What were you doing there?! And how did you get in?" Mia rubbed my forehead, feeling the pain.
It hurt.
Anyone would be surprised and scared if they woke up to a terrifying witch-like woman.
"The door wasn't locked, so I just walked in. I was going to steal the dog from the living room. Sleep felt so good." Lorena sat on her bed.
Mia yawned and stretched. She was still sleepy and hadn't fully recovered from her slumber. She looked at the clock on the bedside table and realized she had only slept for two hours.
"Stop bothering the dog," she grumbled and laid back down.
Lorena smacked her.
"Hey, get up! It's late!" She pulled Mia to help her stand up.
"What!" It is an irritating complaint.
“You look like Ethan! Your passion is awakened me!” she shouted and her face was already frowning.
she still wants to sleep.
Lorena looked at her strangely and had a strange smile on her side.
"You!" Lorena poked her in the side.
“You are already cheating on Yunnie. What? What's the feeling? What's better, Yunnie or Ethan? Oh! It's wrong! Who is more yummy?” Lorena raised his eyebrows and his face was very close to hers.
"Stop me! What else are you thinking and you're not like me," she answered with a frown. she wants to sleep and she's not in the mood to entertain guests, especially Lorena.
"And what are you doing here?! Just walk in! If something goes missing here, I'll blame you!" Mia shouted in annoyance.
Lorena covered her nose.
"Your breath stinks. It smells like a sewer rat," she complained while still covering her nose.
Mia smelled her breath.
"Yes, of course." she agreed when she smelled her breath.
"Take a half bath" Lorena forcefully pulled her friend. Accompany me." She pushes Mia inside the CR.
"My god!!" Mia ran her hand over her face violently.
"You woke me up to join you? Don't you know I'm tired?! And I just came back from Siargao! My god! Lorena, you are also a brainless person.! Chimmy, Lomi, and Harold are there. Why mine?! You have so many friends, why do you want to pester me?!” she asked weakly.
"Come with me now," Lorena spoke and the voice became an angel.
"Because Kieffer is with his wife. Accompany me. We'll see about them because I'm restless. After all, Kieffer might be taken away from me."
Mia didn't know whether to laugh or be annoyed with her friend.
Mia couldn't stop herself from hitting Lorena.
"Your brain is disappearing. Are you crazy? You are the one who will accuse the legal wife of kidnapping Kieffer. And why would you follow them, ah? You're just hanging out."
"It's easy. I can't be bothered because they are at the bar. I just texted Kieffer and until now he hasn't replied. He doesn't even answer my calls anymore."
Fuming with anger, Mia grabbed her towel with a rabbit ear design.
"It's always the mistresses who have the audacity," she muttered, locking the bathroom door.
"Hey, I heard that! If I didn't need you, I would have confronted you! Just because you're hanging out with Yunnie, you act all high and mighty," Lorena shouted from outside the door.
"Nye nye nye nye."
"Get dressed, okay? We're not just going to some street corner, we're heading to a bar," Lorena added, raising her voice to taunt her friend.
