Xavier nodded and went in, only to see his friends drinking with two other women .

" Reynold, is the roof of your car damaged ? You must be the most handsome drenched rat I have ever come across", Kiel Weston, who was the first to see him, couldn't help but make joke of his poor state.

" Why are you guys here ?" He did not bother to explain why he was drenched. His cold voice showed that he was not welcoming.

" We are here to get to know your wife better, am I right Alex? Kiel said, hitting Alex gently with his elbow.

" Don't listen to his nonsense, he is out of love,so he came over to drink with you, since he needs comfort", Alex lied flatly.

Ezekiel flew into a rage. "Why am I always the one hurt,why can't you feel out of love ?.Hmm , don't tell me.. it's not working down there "He covered his mouth as if he had just discovered a shocking truth.

Alex glared at him.

But he bravely returned it.What was that about him seeking comfort, it made him look soft-hearted and Sissy, he so much hated that statement.

"You've cheated so many women, so it's time to get your punishment. It couldn't be me, could it ? Alex raised his eyebrows confidently then cut a piece of apple and put it in his mouth in a refined manner.

Kiel was speechless, using being alone as an excuse is not suitable for a gentleman like Alex.

" Alright Xavier, I'm out of love, my heart is really broken and in pain , come and feel it " Kiel immediately got into the role and ran to Xavier, but before he could even touch his clothes he was kicked to the floor.

" Ask Mrs Leah if you ever need anything, I will go take a bath ". With that, he went upstairs with a cold face.

Ezekiel got up, clenched his fist, he looked at the laughing Alex and came to a realization.

"You said I was out of love on purpose, right ? "and he watched him cast his death.

" Of course, don't you think he needs to vent his anger " Alex replied, laughing.

Kiel was left speechless with his mouth wide open, " are you really my friend ?"

He really longed to kill this man.

Not too long , Xavier came back and joined them. The two women with them were long gone, " Xavier come over your Chief is really getting better at what he does. Come, let's dig in ". On the table were plates of different foods and a lot of wine, as if they planned to get drunk for the night.

Actually, that was nothing new on this date. Every year all three would leave whatever they had to do, to drink together. For the two, this was how they kept their brother company.

Xavier was aware of their way of showing concern for him,so he joined them and drank a few glasses of wine. He tried to pour himself another glass but was stopped by Alex.

"Don't drink on an empty stomach, we will drink to our hearts' content tonight " he said.

He dropped the whiskey and poured himself red wine instead. Alex noticed that Kiel was only eating, so he gave him a kick under the table, making the food in his mouth jump out. He glared and sneered at him.

"Why are you always after me ? Are you really my buddy ?"

Seriously, he was only enjoying his meal, sneered at him, his mouth twitched " you idiot." He mumbled a curse.

"She won't be back tonight," Xavier informed his friends. If they are here to see her,then they should drop the idea of seeing her tonight.

"Ah! we just want to know her formally, Alex said, hiding his awkwardness.

" Rey , the weather out there is bad, don't tell me you left her in the middle of nowhere and came back alone. "

Hearing Kiel's words, Xavier stopped talking. He remained silent for a while. Alex kicked Kiel under the table for the second time that night , but it looked like Kiel was right this time.

Clara was like a time bomb that would detonate at the mention of her name. As a result of his comment, today's meal became the most dreary one that they ever had.

Before, he would always drink with them even when he was angry, but today his silence was so scary that the two couldn't continue eating. After half an hour, the food was taken away almost untouched, so they moved to the bar section.

This time the clock on the wall said 11pm but there was only a wine bottle on the table and the three of them were unable to drink half of it.

They were here to make their friend forget today, but he is not drinking. If they get drunk instead, they will be too embarrassed to call themselves Xavier's friends.

" Worried about her ?" Alex asked, finally breaking the silence. Xavier didn't reply to him. Instead, he resumed with his drink.

" Rey being late once is already enough. If something happens to her, I don't think you will be able to forgive yourself. We all know she has never had a good life with her family and this may even affect her health, which won't be useful to anyone ". Xavier stopped pouring himself a wine and glared at his friend. That's what Alex was like. His words may be unclear, but they always hit the right spot.

"The rain has become very heavy, and the wind is very cold, in fact, right now. The weather out there must have dropped by some degree " Kiel was always the best at fanning the fire.

Xavier mindlessly drank his wine as if he was never affected by whatever they were saying, but taking a closer look, his actions were fast, as if he was in a hurry to go out. 'That woman deserves whatever she gets.'

Alex still wanted to continue but was stopped by Xavier's phone. It was Tony on the phone.

" Boss, we caught someone in your office, what should we do to him ?". Don't worry I am coming, he replied.

Staring at his friends, he said "your rooms are already prepared, I've got something to tend to."

Alex stared at his retreating figure and mumbled " I hope he won't regret this some day. "

"Yeah, I just pray she sees the morning sun tomorrow ". It's useless if they help her out. Xavier would get really angry and cast them out.

They were still talking when Alex screamed, looking down at his phone. He purposely kept his phone in silence. He was not expecting any calls. His assistant was supposed to take care of all his meetings today,

He was never expecting her call.

" What happened!" Kiel was started by his friend's sudden scream.

" Nothing" Alex quickly replied, hiding his phone, he ran straight to his room, to make the call. He couldn't afford to be caught by that big-mouthed Kiel.

The exhausted Clara finally found her way out of the cemetery, looking around for help. The cries of the night birds and bugs were enough to challenge her endurance.

If she hadn't gone through what normal people wouldn't have gone through at such a young age, she wouldn't have been able to hold on this long.

The night was getting more clippy and her eyes were starting to get dizzy. Suddenly, her phone made a beeping sound.

A low battery notification seems to have taken her last hope and her legs became weak.

Thump..

She fell down, but this time she couldn't get up. All she did was use her last strength to open her phone book again and call any random number that came into view.

"Mr Alex, please.. Save.. me"

Hearing that familiar gentle but now weak voice, Tony panicked. This was not what he was expecting.

"Where are you, Clara? Tell me , I'll come pick you up. Just hang in there please", he picked up his windbreaker and hurriedly went down the stairs.

" I don't know, it's a cemetery... there are tombstones everywhere.... it's so dark..so.. and my phone is... "

Suddenly, the phone went off.
