Slade rushed down the hall ahead of the girls and burst open the waiting room door. “It’s a boy! Five pounds, two ounces. He’s perfect.”
Everyone in the waiting room jumped up to congratulate him. Slade turned to Candy’s parents, who had made it to the hospital just in time. “Go on in. She’s waiting for you.”
Colt stepped up, wrapping his arms around his girlfriend. “What’s his name, buddy?”
Slade stepped to his friend, placing a hand on his shoulder with a squeeze. “Colton Elijah Logan.”
Colt teared up, looking away to hold back his emotions. “You named him after me?”
“I named him after my best friend. I was going to come to tell him. Not sure where he is though.” Slade looked around the room. “I don’t know who this crying pussy is in front of me is.”
Holly laughed. “Don’t let him fool ya, Colt. Slade was crying like a baby in that delivery room.”
Colt grabbed Slade in a headlock and gave him a noogie and released him. “Congrats brother.”
“Come on. The baby should be in the nursery by now. Everyone can see him.”
Once they all reached the nursery window, it was all coo’s and awes. The nurse brought the baby to the window to show him off to the guest.
Colt leaned over, resting his head against Holly’s whose face was pressed against the window. “He’s beautiful, isn’t he?”
Holly looked over her shoulder at Colt, and his hands slinked around her waist. “I want that.”
Colt smiled at her, kissing her temple. “I do too. Someday, my heart, that will be us.”
A low growl radiated beside them, and they turned to see Cyrus glaring at them. “Don’t get any ideas, Wesson.”
Holly moved to hug her brother. “Hush you. You would love to be an uncle.”
Looking over Holly’s shoulder, Cyrus snarled at Colt. Colt just gave him a wink and pretended to air hump Holly behind her back.
Gage was standing next to them, trying not to laugh at Colt’s taunts. “Colt, you are one brave S.O.B.”
“Nah. Old Cy is warming up to me. By tomorrow we will be best buddies. We will walk down the beach hand in hand while reading poetry to each other,” Colt teased.
Cyrus shoulder-checked Colt as he walked past to get a better view of the baby. “Don’t bet on it, dickhead.”
Holly just giggled and wrapped her arms tight around Colt’s waist. Resting her head firmly against his chest, she felt her heart would burst from seeing the beautiful babies in the nursery. Seeing the surrounding couples made her feel a warmth she forgot she knew. She hadn’t been this happy in so long she had forgotten what it was like.
Holly looked up to her boyfriend, seeing Colt watch the baby with a calming peace radiating across his face. His eyes softened as his head tilted to meet her gaze. The love between them was more than either of them could explain. This was the love she always wanted and wished it didn’t take her so long to realize it was real. All her past relationships were just infatuation. With Colt, things were so different. There was love there, and now she knew what genuine love could be.
Cyrus stood by, keeping a close eye on the couple.
Wraith stepped up to him with an approving look. “She loves him, Cy. Nothing you can do to change that. We wanted her and Isis to find happiness. You need to relax and let her make her own decisions. We did our best to raise the girls. They are women now. It’s okay to let go.”
“I know he makes her happy. I hate to admit it, but I think maybe Colt may be good enough for my sister.”
Wraith patted his shoulder. “That’s better.”
Cyrus narrowed his eyes in Colt’s direction. “I said maybe.”
Wraith just laughed, shaking his head. “You’re going to torture him, aren’t you?”
“Slowly and painfully.” Cyrus laughed. “Let’s go grab a beer. All this lovey-dovey crap is making me nauseous.”
“Now you’re talkin’.”

At the bar, Drake and Jacob Justice from the Justice faction joined them.
Drake was rubbing his head in deep thought saying, “My girl never wants to have kids now. She saw that shit and was mortified.”
Jacob laughed while taking a drink of his beer. “Wait until the baby making clock starts to tick down. She’ll change her mind.”
“She wants to bring another girl into our relationship.” Drake drank from his beer, looking straight over the bar at the deer head on the wall.
All three men turned their heads to face him. All impressed, but not believing it.
Cyrus’s eyes almost bugged out of his head. “You’re kidding?”
“Nope. I’m scared as hell.”
Wraith rolled his eyes. “Of what? Too much pussy?”
“No. That she will leave me for the girl. I love Sahara. I know she wants to get married, but I’m loyal. I want it to stay between us. I don’t want to share her with anyone. I want nothing to mess up the good thing we have together.”
Cyrus plopped his head down on the bar. “You have got to be kidding me. I can’t get one woman to stick around and your chick wants you to have two. Dude, you’re an idiot.”
Jacob rubbed his chin. “Do you want to do it?”
Drake chuckled. “I’m still a guy. Of course, I’m down with the sex part but not sharing my girl’s love. That’s just for me.”
Jacob shrugged. “Then try it. Never know, it might work out. If not, talk to her. Tell her how you feel. Maybe she’s testing you to make sure you mean business. Hell Drake, you’re quiet. I can bet you don’t tell her half the shit you tell us. Maybe she just wants you to open up to her and stake your claim.”
Drake shook his head, agreeing. “Maybe you’re right. I’ve not talked to her about it. I could never love another woman as I love her. If Sahara fell for someone else, it would destroy me. It’s funny how the women in this company have that effect on men around here.”
Wraith tipped his drink to Drake. “True. I don’t think I could ever share my wife with anyone. When you fall that hard, no other woman can turn your head.”
Cyrus waved to the bartender and ordered another drink. “Do we need to talk about this shit? I’m sick of all this love crap.”
Jacob read Cyrus’ expression. “Still upset about Holly and Colt?”
“She deserves a good man.”
“And Colt’s not? He’s loyal to the core, doesn’t drink or party, has a good family life back home, and has a good head on his shoulders. When there are other women around, Colt is always all eyes on Holly. He obviously loves her. Look at all the hot girls backstage at IWX. Have you ever seen him act that way with any of them? They hit on him all the time and he blows them off. It’s not like he’s a man whore or something.”
Cyrus turned his head to look at Jacob. It was clear the older man didn’t share his opinion. He sighed. “I guess you’re right.”
Wraith watched intently noticing his brother clearly had more on his mind. “This isn’t about Holly, is it? It still upsets you about your divorce and you are laying all your pain and heartache on them.”
“I don’t want her to go through what I did, Wraith.” Cyrus tried to deflect. “Can we just change the subject?”
“Brother, you know one day you are going to have to deal with your heartbreak and get past it, right? It’s not healthy for you to keep waiting around for your ex to come back. You can’t keep holding all that anger in. For too long no one ever knew you were divorced. You hold too much in.”
“I don’t want to talk about this shit. I just want Holly to be happy. That’s it. Who wants to play a round of pool?”
Drake jumped from his bar stool. “I’m in. This love and baby talk has me stressed as fuck.”
Wraith watched as his brother walked away, finally understanding why he was so protective. He was hurting as much as the day his wife left him six months ago.
