Chapter 34
<Shielyn>
“I have a ticket to Europe.”
We are on the sides of the pool.
I look at him confusingly.
“Jase, fly to Europe for the expansion of our business and to invest. He is with Kier right now. He flew yesterday morning.”
I am just looking at him.
Our conversation is not that serious.
Why is he talking about me on this matter?
“I am going to Europe too, but I think I should give it to you.”
I look at the maids cleaning the pool. That pool was used once.
“Why are you giving me your ticket? you can buy me one, and we will go there together.”I suggested. He is just making things complicated.
He sighed. He likes; he is carrying heavy things on his back.
He sipped his coffee.
Coffee in the afternoon, and the sun shines too bright. It’s so hot, but he is drinking coffee.
“You need it the most.”
I look at him confusingly.
“Did you know that your husband stayed there for almost a month? They will spend another month if they don't make it in a month.”
My shoulder fell.
My chest suddenly tightens.
He didn't tell me about it; he just told me he was leaving and even shooed me away.
I feel my eyes heat up.
I looked up, trying to suppress my tears.
He is hiding things from me. He shouldn't be sweet about me if he is going to leave me.
“He is not calling me….” My voice broke.
“Until now, he is n-not left me a me-message.”
“Why are you telling me about this?” I am teary-eyed.
He sighed again.
“I know that you are missing him. I am giving you a chance,” his eyes are dim.
Business Overseas is just two weeks long, not a month.
“He should return in one or two weeks; one month is too long. If he came here for business, you are just fooling me. He didn't come there for business,” I answered indeed.
He gets it from his wallet.
“Here is this card; I'll give you my access to see him. Even if I book you a flight to Europe, you can't find him without this card.”
It's a plain black card, but there’s a Latin word in the lower part; I can't read it; it's written in small.
I am just looking at the card he is holding.
"We have our plane and chaperone to take where he is." He licked his lower lip.
I clenched my fist.
"Stop him while it's still early."
I didn't mind what he said.
I left him.
I ran.
My tears fell down like water.
I don't understand myself.
I don't understand my heart.
What am I feeling?
Why am I longing for him?
I shouldn't miss him.
"Selene, are you crying?"
I saw my father. I passed by him and ran into my room.
I slammed the door of my room and cried on my pillow.
Maybe, I need to see a doctor. My heart is not feeling okay.
I am not seeing him for days, and my heart is reacting.
My heart aches when the day passes and I am not seeing him.
I suddenly miss his voice.
I tried to contact him, but he didn't answer my calls.
Is he still alive?

“What did you do?!”
Shielyn’s mom hit me in the shoulder.
I cringe; she is a hard hitter. I think my shoulder will get broken.
“Mom, stop!” I avoided her punches.
“I didn’t do anything!” I jump when she is trying to hit me again.
“You made my daughter cry!” She is furious.
“What did you tell her, huh?!” She hit me again, and I didn’t avoid her hit this time.
I sighed.
“You just came here to make her cry!” She accused me.
“Honey, stop that. It’s normal for our daughter to cry. It means she is still alive, which makes her human.,” father said.
They are so protective of Shielyn because she is their only child.
“Don’t meddle with our conversation!” She roared at her husband.
Mom is scary; I didn't experience a mother's care and love.
How does it feel to have parents?
I don’t have parents; how can I be born if I don’t have parents. Me, I don’t have parents. My twin and I grew up together with our grandparents and uncle.
I didn’t expect it when mom cried.
“She is our only daughter,” she held my hand.
“I told you to protect her, am I right?”
I didn’t reply.
I feel her mother’s love for her daughter from her words. She loves Shielyn so much.
“You promise us that you will always be on her side,” she cried.
I treated her like a mother too.
I sighed.
“Mom…”
If you just chose me.
“I am not her husband, might as well tell this to Kier; she is her husband; it’s his duty, not mine.” I don’t want to have a rival friend.
I treasure my friends and don’t want to become their enemy.
“He is failing to love our daughter,” she cried to her husband.
I don't know Kier’s hidden agenda for marrying her, but I am sure it's not a good plan.
“He loves her,” I spilled the tea.
I look away.
I didn’t hear any answers from them; I was just hearing mom’s sobs.
“Let’s not pressure the children, honey,” he comforted her mom.
I feel my eyes heat up.
I smile bitterly.
I hope my parents are like them, who love their children so much and never abandon them.
“Let’s get our daughter back and pay for the penalty. Let Kier have our company; our daughter is more important than anything in this world.”
“Honey, we still don't know why our daughter is crying. You know how stubborn and hard-headed she is; she won’t tell her the reason and doesn't blame Kier; we need to hear the two parties.”
This is just a misunderstanding. Let's not conclude anything.
Maybe it feels good to grow up with parents?
“No! If Kier is a good husband, he mustn't let our daughter in that situation; he must be here!’ Mom stops crying.
Daughter happiness above anything else. They may not be perfect parents, but I know how they love their daughters.
“I told you to stop blaming your son-in-law!” Father raises his voice again.
I left.
I should give them privacy, and I am out of the topic.

<Shielyn>
I decided to go to work even though my parents didn’t let me. They told me to go home early, but I won’t go home to my parent's house. I will go home to the villages. Staying in the house makes me sick.
“Here is the lucky bitch, bitches.”
Even though I am nervous, I encourage myself to go to work. Maybe I should accept my boss' offer to get the promotion.
“Look, she acted innocent, but she is the devil on the inside.”
I was about to swipe my ID when a group of women approached me. I looked at their ID, and they are from the sales department.
“Hey, bitch! I heard you are a bitch,” they laughed.
I was about to go when they pulled my hair.
This scene is giving me trauma again.
“Where are you going? I thought you were brave?” They ask me mockingly.
I am going to get bullied again.
“I am sorry, I don't know what you guys are talking about,” I said shyly.
I played with my fingers; I didn't want another fight and scene.
“Ah, really?” The blonde woman said with sarcasm.
“The water, please,” the prominent forehead woman handed her a bottle of water.
She opened it and poured it on me. I gasped.
What did I do to them?
“You acted and bullied us yesterday, and now what?! Don’t act like you are innocent and can't fight with us.”
“I don't know what you guys are ta-talking about,” I stammered.
“I didn't go to work yesterday,” my uniform was all wet, and I looked like a moist chicken.
“What a bitch! Liar! You poured water on us yesterday and locked us in the bathroom! Who do you think you are, huh?!” The forehead woman yelled at me.
I cringed.
I clenched my fist.
Why do I always get embarrassed and bullied?
They are making up stories.
“Hey! Hey! Lower class women, what are you doing?!” Lufita came to us. She pushed the brunette woman with long curly hair.
“Oh!” She gasps when she sees how I look.
“Get out of here!” She yelled at those women.
They didn't move an inch.
“What are you looking at? I said get out! Or do you want to get fired?!” Lufita threatened them.
They hurriedly walked away from us.
Lufita looks at me from head to toe; I don't see any pity from her.
She smirked at me and crossed her under her chest. She has a big future, and I think her boobs are enormous.
“You amused me yesterday, huh,” she walked around me.
“You are just hiding your true colors,” she stated.
Yesterday? I didn't come to work yesterday; I stayed at my parent's house; I didn't remember that I left the house.
This was my first time showing my face after I got embarrassed.
“I don't know what you are a-saying,” my hands are shaking.
She likes to bully me.
She raised her fake eyebrow at me.
“Really?” she asks, mocking me or, should I say, insulting me.
Lufita lifted my chin using her middle finger.
“I like your bravery yesterday like you bully everyone. You got everyone's attention.''
What is she saying? I am baffled.
“You amused me by attitude; continue being angel outside while you are really devil inside, bye queen bitch, I'll see you in our department,” she winks at me before turning her back.
I am baffled.
They are talking and staring at me all the way into the department.
What are their problems?
While waiting for the elevator to go down, my phone suddenly rang. I thought it was my husband, but it's not.
