Chapter 53
<Shielyn>
“Bessy! Bessy, what happened?!” Vane is rushing toward me.
Vane came into her room without knocking.
I look at Vane, full of tears on my face.
“The news has already been spread; is that true?” I look at Layla, standing at my room’s door.
Kier is not here; he is in the company. I don’t know what to do; this situation will have a mark.
Layla's face is not happy and not sad too. I was staring at Layla and didn’t look at her. My mom doesn’t want to talk to me, and I am mad at her for keeping this important thing in my life.
“If that’s true, auntie's mom will have a son and daughter for real… you already know that auntie's mom adopted Kier because her husband cheated on her, and they can’t have a child, right?” Layla asked me.
I just got that information days ago. I'm not updated on what’s happening. I should thank Bryden for what he did.
“She adopted Kier when he was already old; I don’t remember the exact age… brother Kier never stops finding her sister; he told me she was a baby back then in that orphanage.” Layla became teary-eyed. “ if you are his long-lost sister,” She looked at me, “you are married.” My tears fell again.
Fate is playing with us.
“I am going to divorce him.”
Vane, who keeps combing and fixing my hair, agrees, “that’s right, sister! Divorce is the best solution. Divorce him, and I will help you find a good man.” Vane advises me that she looks happy.
Layla didn’t utter any words and stared at me.
“Layla, you know a lawyer. C-can you help me to h-him?” I am looking at her when she suddenly shakes her head in disappointment.
“Sissy, me! Me! I know the best lawyer in town! Let me contact him for you!” Vane volunteers cheerfully.
“Stop crying, there’s a lot of fish in the ocean, and you have the freedom to choose!” Vane wipes my tears.
I wish Mia is here with me.
“I am not sure if the brother agrees with you,” there are unsaid words in Layla’s eyes.
It’s been two days, and I haven’t seen Kier; he is not going home, and I don’t know his whereabouts. I already talked to the lawyer that Vane referred to me. He is a good lawyer.
I feel so down, and I don’t know whom to contact since Mia decided to leave me. I don’t have a family, and Kier’s family hated me for being me. I don’t have that many friends. Vane keeps on talking about men and boys.
Layla, I can’t talk to her. I don’t know what to say. I don’t know if we need to speak; we are like siblings now because I am his cousin's biological sister. My parents are far from me; they don’t like me anymore.
It feels like being alone. I had been alone in my childhood until I grew up, but facing a problem alone is different and not easy. I am getting crazy for thinking a lot of things and feeling deep pain.
If fate didn’t play with us, I wouldn’t feel this kind of feeling.
Kier is the one who always listens to me, but we can’t be back like before. Our relationship already has a scar.
I had been crying and didn’t want to cry anymore, but my tears won’t stop falling.
I don’t know what I should do; I am making a rush decision.
This divorce paper is ready to sign; I already sign mine.

<Third Person>
“Crazy! Talk to him!” Nathan pushes his twin brother.
They are in a bar, and their friend Kiers is drinking again.
“Back out; his company is not doing well right now. Your timing is not right, Nathan.” Jase had been scolding Nathan.
“He is about to lose the company he had been working for so long. If he lost it for real, you might feel guilty, and you are the one who blames.”
“Hey! Hey! You belong, duh! Please don’t blame it all on me. That thing is Conrad's bullshit idea, and I implement it!” Nathan defends himself.
“Stops him from drinking!” Nathan pushes his twin brother again.
“Stop acting childish.” Ethan is annoyed at his twin brother. He pulled him from his house to bring him here to the bar.
“Kier didn’t burst out? Something might be wrong; he had been drowning himself in alcohol. A real shit bad.” Ethan shook his head.
They know Kier for being hot-tempered and efficiently getting mad and annoying him.
They are watching him at the table, drinking alone and thinking deeply.
“We are all dead,” Ethan stated before standing up and walking to Kier.
“Hey, man!” He greeted him but didn’t talk and continued drinking alcohol. The two followed him.
Kier didn’t look at his friends nor say anything. He continued to drink, and the four looked at each other.
Ethan feels guilty.

<Layla>
“DidI you see her?”
I am here again in Jase's office. Mom cooks a delicious meal, and I am going to give him.
“Who?”
Did he take lunch?
“That woman, sir Jase, is with right now. I envy her; she’s gorgeous and like a doll. I hope I am gorgeous like that.”
I stopped walking when I heard a group of employees talking and Jase's name. I came near to them to eavesdrop.
“She’s sir Jase's girlfriend!”
What? Why I didn’t know about this?!
“Crazy! Sir Jase's girlfriend is Ma’am Layla.”
I listen more. I made sure that the employees were not seeing me.
“Heh! You are not in form; Ma’am Layla made her sir Jase her girlfriend. Sir Jase doesn’t know that they are in a relationship.” That fat woman laughs. Is she insulting me?
They all laugh.
“I like that sir Jase with, and I even heard him call her ‘babe’"
I clenched my fist at what I heard.
“She looks innocent and fragile, unlike.”
But I am talented and beautiful!
“They are in a relationship! I heard it! Sir Jase has good taste in women, and they look together!”
I didn’t listen more, and I abruptly went to Jase's office; I was about to enter without knocking when his secretary stopped me again.
“Ma’am, you can’t enter. Sir is with someone; they are having a private meeting.”
I breathe deeply to calm myself. I am near to pulling this woman's hair. I have a feeling that she has a crush on Jase! If I ever found out about it, I would hurt her!
“Tell him that I am here!” I said, impatience with her.
“When the meeting is done.” She answered, and I looked at her in disbelief.
“Who is he with inside?” I raise my left eyebrow at her.
“It’s Ma’am Musa.”
So, it’s a woman, huh? I smirked. And who’s that Musa?
“What are they talking about?” I asked like a boss.
“Uhmm, Ma’am Layla, you can wait, sir Jase until he is done.” She said politely to me, but I am being impatient.
She didn’t answer my question.
“Tell him that I am here!” I roared.
She flinched.
“Ma’am-”
“No buts! Tell him now!”
“Sir might scold me…” she looks scared.
“I will take care of you,” I assure her.
“But Ma’am Layla…”
I waited on her, but she didn’t make any move. This woman is trying me.
I entered his office, and she couldn’t stop me.
“Ma’am!”
I heard her call me.
I saw Jase and a small woman talking and laughing. They seem happy and have a good time. That woman looks simple and holds a cup of coffee in her right hand. She’s sitting in front of Jase. she doesn’t wear make-up and dress. She’s so plain in my eyes.
“Sir, sorry I can’t stop Ma’am Layla… she suddenly came in, and I tried to stop her.” His secretary reported to him.
How dare this woman treat me like this.
“It’s okay, you can leave us,” Jase said to his secretary.
I came near them, “Jase, who is she?” I sat beside him while not taking away my glare at the woman.
“Layla, what are you doing here? We’re discussing private matters.” Jase said to me calmly.
So, now I am not allowed to come in because of this woman?
“Hi…” I looked at her when she greeted me with a genuine smile.
I am not smiling at her. She is flirting with Jase.
“Layla… please wait for me outside.” He murmured to my ears.
“Hi, I am Layla, Jase fiancé.” I introduce myself.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Musa.” This woman is still smiling at me.
So, this is the woman that those employees are referring.
“Since I am his fiancé and we will get married soon, maybe I can stay here, right? Is it fine with you? I am pregnant with our first child, and I don’t want to get out of my sight to him.” I said to her.
I want to hear what they are talking about.
“Layla…” Jase warned me, and he widened his eyes on me. I winked at him.
“Sure, sure!” Musa smiled at me again. She looks warm and welcoming.
What does Jase like about her? Eh, she’s a tedious and plain woman.
“Let’s get back to the conversation. Where are we again?” Jase asks her.
I stayed my gazed at that woman.
“I’ll tell this about my brother; he sent me here for me to train and.” She smiled playfully.
“Looking forward to our partnerships in the future.”
“If you need help in your business, I can help you,” Jase put down the iPad he had been holding.
“And besides, I see a potential to you and maybe, become my business partner in the future.”
What the hell?!
Does Jase like this woman?
