Chapter 54
<Layla>
Musa nodded her head at him, “I’m just starting, and besides, it’s a small business, unlike my brother, that handles a big company. We’re helping each other. He was away, so he asked me to come for him.” Musa explained.
I listened carefully to what they were talking about, and this Musa girl didn’t do any actions to flirt with Jase; she behaved herself. Hmm, it’s good that she understands the assignment.
“Uhmm, I need to go since we already discussed the contract. I’ll pursue my brother not to terminate it.” Musa started to fix her things.
I rolled my eyes. What a plastic woman; she’s just hiding her true colors.
“Let me send you out.”
My eyes widened. Jase never sends me out. What is unique in this woman?! It seems I already have a rival in love.
“I appreciate it, but it is not necessary.” She bit her lower lip, “it’s my honor to be here and meet the owner of this company.” She smiled shyly.
Jase, what about to offer again when I interrupted?
“We still have a lunch date, right, Bubu?” I smile sweetly at him.
“Thank you again.” She smiled before she left us.
I hate those women who acted shy and naive, like Shielyn. They hid their colors and performed a weak in front of everyone.
“What was that?” Jase's eyebrow creased, and he stood up.
“Who’s that woman?!” I shouted at him.
“If you fight with me, you might as well leave my company.” He walked to his working desk and sat in his swivel chair.
“Is she your girlfriend?”
He looks at me.
“My love life has nothing with you.” He said, heartless.
“But, you know that I love you… why don’t you love me back?”
He looks at me for a minute.
“Let me tell you this straight, Layla… no matter what you are going to do, I won’t love you back, and you don’t have a chance to me. I don’t have any plans to settle down. Love is no room in my life.”
He returned his gaze to his laptop and started to type on it.
“Why? Am I not loveable? Attractable? I am a famous model, talented and skilled; besides everyone saying that we look good together,” I said weakly.
He rejected my confession to him.
I heard no answer from him.
“Did you like that woman Jase?” he stops what he is doing.
“Jase! Answer me!” I shouted.
“It has nothing to do with you, Layla.”
What?
“I hate you! You always give me hope when you change your mind a minute.” I cried, almost crying. “Why are you treating me like that? There are times you are sweet and care for me. I felt too that you like me,”
“I am like that to everyone.” He is shutting me down.
I kneel, “Jase, all I ask is love from you. Why can’t you give it to me? Is that because of my cousin? Am I hard to love? I confessed, and you rejected me.” It feels hurt.
I like him.
We heard a knock, and I stood up.
“Sir…” His secretary looked at me and returned his gaze to his boss, “ma’am Musa is here again. She asks if her wallet is in your office.”
I look at the center table here.
I smirked.
“Let her come in.”
That woman! She likes Jase and the reason that she forgot her wallet, which is not an accident.
“I’m sorry, I forgot my wallet.” She showed up and got her wallet from the table.
“I was already in the taxi when I remembered my wallet wasn’t with me. I’m hoping that it was here, and I felt relieved.”
When she noticed me, she looked at me and smiled.
“You are communicating? Your brother is one of my best partners and one of the board members; why he didn’t get you a driver? It’s not safe to ride a taxi, Musa.”
“No! No! It’s okay, and I don’t want to disturb my brother, and besides, I still go to the other company he asks me.”
“Exactly, I am going to. Let me drop you there.”
I’m listening to them.
“No! Sir Jase, it’s okay. I can handle myself. I already disturbed you because of my short-term memory loss.”
Jase stands up and goes with her.
“C’mon, I insist. I feel bad you are rejecting my offer.”
“It’s not that… but. Okay, I will accept your offer.” Musa shyly said to Jase.
And they left me here.
I clenched my fist hard.
Jase offered that woman a ride that he had never provided me once. There’s something unique to that woman.
They can’t be together! I am going to ruin what they have! In the first place, Jase was originally mine, and I won’t let anyone steal him from me.!
Jase never looked at me; he ignored me for that woman.
“Brother! Brother!” I rushed to my cousin Kier when I saw him. I had difficulty finding him, and he was just in the house. I came to his place, and no one was there.
“Brother! Brother, help me!” I shake his hand.
He is drinking again.
He looks at me lifelessly.
“Stop pestering me, Layla.” He warned me calmly, and he neglected my hand on his.
“Brother, help me!” I cried desperately.
“It’s J-Jase! Brother Jase likes someone!” I cried to him.
“Layla, if this is about Jase and your craziness with him, I don’t have time for that, and I am not in the mood.”
“Brother!” I called him sadly.
“Please, just this one, arrange a marriage for us! I want to get Jase married; he likes someone else! I don’t want that to happen! Brother!” I shake Kier.
I keep on begging myself.
“I don’t want that, Layla. You know I don’t want to have a relationship with my friends!”
I look down.
“I promise,” I raise my left hand, “this will be my last wish to you, and I won’t ask anymore.” I am desperate.
I know my brother can make it possible in his way. He is a genius and good at everything. He is my idol, and he permanently saves me. He always grants my wish too.
“Stop nagging me with your stupidness Layla; I won’t help you. Don’t try to persuade me because you won’t win.”
“This is not stupidness and craziness!” I snarl at him, “Jase likes someone, and what do you want me to do?! Celebrate it?! And let them be together?!” I can’t stop myself from shouting.
He didn’t answer me, and he continued drinking.
“Brother!” I called him angrily. I stomped my feet in annoyance.
“Jase wouldn’t like you because of your childish attitude.” He said emotionless.
I am myself; what’s wrong with that? And why do they like those plastics people?
“Okay, fine! If you don’t want to help me, then I will be the one to make a way!” I said desperately while thinking about a plan. I already have an idea.
I will make sure that my plan of mine will go smoothly.
“I will get him using a sword,” I whispered.
Jase, I have been for you, and maybe it’s time to make a move to make you mine. You will learn to love me and make it hard for me. I will make sure that the universe agrees with me. We will be together in the end.
If we aren’t together, I will force it; if I need to use a sword, I will do it to get you.
I smirked while leaving the house.

“What do you need?” Nate asked me.
“You wouldn’t go here without reason.” He commented and drank a coffee.
I look at what he is watching, a documentary. Tsk! Hmmph! This man is dull; he has a bland taste. He is all boring; they all know how to make money. They are making money from the problems. And I wouldn’t be curious about how they ended up being friends.
“Ehem.” I walk to him.
“Say it.” He demanded.
I sat in front and faced him.
“Ehem, you might want to help me.” I started.
“If you help me, I will pay you or do whatever you want.”
He is listening to me silently.
“You know that brother Kier, we are very close. I can grant your wish if you help me.” I added.
“O, what do you need?” He asked while waiting for me to be done.
“I want you to help me to get married at Jase; you are best friends, right? I’m thinking of a plan; I want you to let him sign legal marriage documents.” I said fiercely.
“Tsk!” He returns his attention to what he is watching.
“You’re crazy, tsk!” He commented.
“I won’t do that; if Jase doesn’t like you, don’t force him. Tsk! I don’t want to see my friend in a grievance every day.” He said while shaking his head.
“You are so rude!” I snorted at him. I left him. Hmmph!
**
“What do you need? Ugly humans are not allowed here to make it short. You are not allowed to come here.”
This big ear teases me.
“Why are you here?” I return his question to him.
Jase stood and walked, looking at me from head to toe.
I raise my eyebrow at him.
“Is this your house? Do you know that I can sue you for trespassing in my house? You come inside without my permission.”
Nate came back to where he was sitting.
I clenched my fist.
Nate is like a woman; I never defeat him. He acts like a woman too!
I glare at him while clenching my fist.
“No!”
