Chapter 57: The Crushing Down Reality
A flash of icy cold water on my skin jerked me up into reality. I coughed a few times, trying to snatch an air to breathe. My headache was as if someone was pounding a hammer mercilessly with great effort.
I lay on the dirty floor, and hands were tightly bound over my back. Flashes of what happened back in the changing room crossed my mind, passing the chillies over my already shivering body.
An arrogant smirk made me look up at the tall and muscular figure. He was standing under the dandling light on a corner which wasn’t capable of lighting the entire room. The manic calmness over his face clutched my heart. Composing myself, I lay over the wall to support my weight.
“Who are you?” He straightened his head and kept staring at me with a dangerously curious gaze. I looked around to find a window or something but, beside the door at the furthermost end, nothing was visible.
“Do you think Arius will spare you? He will tear you alive, let me go…” His tip of lips rose in darkness at the mention of Arius. He took a step forward and his cold eyes came into my vision.
“Still Arius? Arius was the last word I heard from you, and even after fifteen years you are still calling him? Interesting ha?” He speeded up and bent down, observing my every feature.
His words were totally unknown to me. I ignored and scooted back, creating a distance from him.
“I thought you were dead, but not only did he find you again, but he even dared to marry you?” He raised his hand and brought it near my cheek, wanting to touch but he stopped himself. The unleashing joy in his eyes made my breathing difficult.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Look, whoever you are, I am sure I am not the person you are looking for. STAY AWAYYYYY.” He suddenly leaned to sniff my skin and rubbed his node over my hairs while I was explaining myself.
“Yes, My Queen Aria.” He backed away holding a sinister look in his eyes. He had a devil’s smile showing off his madness. I froze at the word he mentioned. I want to forget these words and repetitively it came in front of me as if it was the shadow I was trying to escape.
“She is dead, I am Ele-”
“Miss. Elena Genevieve Davis, adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Davis at five. Brought Up in Miami. Worked in Accardo corporation for over five years, as manager. Theodore and Clair aka Patty… best friends, acceptable plan.” My eyes remained widened, dropping the temperature of my body, but he was busy observing the texture of my hairs.
The flow of blood dropped significantly, turning me pale. Droplets of sweat steamed down my neck, while I struggled to keep my composure straight.
“If you already know, let me go. You have picked up the wrong girl.” I jerked my head away from him, the strands of hair slipping from his hand. He looked up at me and laughed crazily.
“How do you know them all?” I asked, gulping my fear down. Again, the dead silence boomed in the room as he paused. His piercing eyes could drill holes through walls.
“Because I killed them.” He pulled my hair, bringing my face closer to him. My heart stabbed at his words. Tears drained from my eyes, he slashed a burning hot knife over my heart, reviving the pain I went through.
“Wh-y? They were in-kept.” I forced my throat to speak. I wanted to know, why did he make me walk through hell like that? They were the dearest to my heart.
“Ahhhh ‘’ sharp pain erupted through my head as he slapped me hard, and I fell on the floor. My question agitated him. His manic, calm eyes turned into blazing swords, ready to cut down the entire world.
“Sorry… Sorry…. I killed them to give our new Queen Aria.” He rushed over to me, and gently made me sit again. I was shocked to witness his dual nature. He was clearly not stable with his mind.
He called me Aria twice. This thing was not distressing enough. His dual nature added fuel to the fire? He yelled something loudly in Italian and a few men came running into the room. They brought a first aid kit and handed it to these men.
An opened the door for a fragile minute told me he was someone powerful. A rowed armed guard was lined in alert mode. If he hadn’t mistaken me for someone else, he must be the one enemy of Arius, maybe the one who attacked in the tunnel.
He stroked closer to me, opened my hands and dabbed the cotton over my temples, but the fury in his eyes and nostrils didn’t subside a bit. My wrist was bleeding as the rope was tied too tight.
“I am not Aria. Who are you? Why did you bring me here?” I pushed him away from me and tried to get up. He threw the cotton ball casually aside and looked up as if he wanted to pill my skin away. I coughed and held my hand to stop him. To my surprise, he even stopped a few steps away from me, but the dripping lust from his eyes was enough to shrink me.
My eyes watered thinking, how much my Arius was distressed about my kidnapping? But I was equally sure, whoever he was, his end was so close.
“Do you not remember me? Only Arius is in your mind.. Like always.” He mocked his fake disbelief and took a step towards me, eyeing me up and down.
“I am Dante Salvatore, the next king of Italy, and you, my queen Aria.” My heart coalfield at the thought of his dreaming and I turned my head in disgust.
“I never thought Arius kept you so far away from every piece of information.” He was in disbelief as his name didn’t bell the ring in my head.
“What do you want?” He rushed and held my face in his hand, pinning me over the wall. Blood drained from my veins at his psychotic behavior.
“I want to kill every piece holding Arius together, including you.” Revenge is the sweetest thing in the world, but why? Why did he want revenge on him?
“Be clear, you bastard.” I pushed myself away from me and tried to run towards the door, but he held my arm and jerked me over him.
“I wondered, how did you survive when I killed his mother, brother? You want it clear, right? Then listen carefully. I will capture your king alive and make you suffer in front of his eyes. It will soothe to watch his Aria get molested repetitively in front of his eyes and hear his scream. Beg right?” My body trembled at hearing his thoughts. Air was reluctant to enter my system.
“And you, you grew up really sexy, ha?” He pressed me over him, roaming his dirty hands over my back. I cried and tried to break free, but my every move was fruitless.
“He even hides your real identity from you,” My heart clutched at his words and body turned into stone.
“Yes, your real name is Aria Lauren Russo, daughter of Various Russo, the right-hand man of that bastard Arius’s father whom I killed with these hands.” He caressed my face with his same bloody hand.
My mind stopped working. Am I Aria? The same Aria he loved so much? Am I the daughter of the mafia? He questioned my entire existence; he raised suspicion over my identity.
I was struggling to push him far, but he was constantly pulling me over his disgusting body. Something cold brushed over my hand and I took it, jerking over him. It was the gun. I held it over his head, trying to be confident, but he just smirked.
“My Arius will come to get me.” He smirked even though I was holding the gun over his friend. I was startled as its trigger pulled over, but nothing happened.
“Looks like he didn’t teach you how to use this toy yet, ha? And I want your Arius to come get you until I can have some fun, you know.” And he laughed maniacally, touring my sleeves with his filthy hands.
