Maryam's POV
Why did she hate me so much? This is the first time of seeing each other and she hate me a lot! Did I really kill my Mummy and Daddy? Ya Allah please guide me on this. I was busy thinking about my self when I heard there voice arguing and now it getting louder
"Daddy! Your brother and his wife are having an argument over me,what do I do now?" I muttered to my self
"She's living this house Jawad" daddy's wife said walking out from their room
"No she's not going anywhere"
"Ehn....Jawad?! Jawad?!! You're looking for trouble ooo, I said this witch will not live in this house with me,I can't live in a house where I know that very soon I'm going to die" she said stubbornly and my Daddy sigh before saying
"Please Nana let her stay in this house with us, I'm pleading you,please I promise you that she will never cross her boundaries"
"Eh! You said it ooo Jawad! If I should smell anything fishy about this witch you brought home,I won't think twice before throwing her out of this house" she said drawing her right ear in a warning tone
"I promise" Daddy said
"And you! Don't think may be because my husband is on your side I won't be able to do anything to you,try anything stupid and see who I really am....is that clear?"
"Yes Mummy"
"Who's your Mommy? You say Ma whenever I talk to you,only if visitors are here you can call me Mommy is that clear?"
"Yes Ma"
"Witch! Lemme go to my room before she use her evil spirit to kill me too,and you! If you like stay with her so that she could suck your blood...Nonsense" she said walking away
"Maryam I'm sorry OK? She's just so stressed on something, she doesn't mean all what she's saying, you'll see very soon she will love you more than anyone else in this house....OK?"
"OK Daddy"
"Good now lemme show you your room"
"OK Daddy"
"Daddy showed me my room and it was beautiful, I thank him before he walk out from my room,I lay flatly on my bed thinking about my Daddy,by this time yesterday we were together planning about today but now I can't see you anymore... I missed you so much Daddy" I muttered with my teary eyes before darkness took over me
****40 days later****
"Maryam Darling" I heard a voice but I don't want to believe who that voice belongs to
"Maryam baby! Are you in there? "
"Yes....Yes Ma " I answered nervously before opening the door
"As salamu Alaikum....Good morning Daddy,Good morning Ma" I said kneeling down
"Hey did you sleep well last night?...and don't call me Ma again you can call me Mom" she said smiling but I can see through her eyes that they are all lies,she's only pretending. I looked at daddy and he shrug his shoulder giving me the look of "I have no idea of what's going on"
"OK...okay Mommy"
"Good! now you'll go take your bath. What's your favourite food for breakfast?"
"Brea....Brea....."
"C'mon don't be scared of me anymore,I don't bite you know and I'm sorry for all what happened yesterday, I hope you won't take it personal?"
"No Ma"
"How many times do you want me to tell to stop calling me Ma,call me Mom....now tell me what do you want to eat" she said sending me a death glare but unfortunately Daddy can't see that coz her back was facing him
"OK M.....Mom....I...I want to take bread and tea" I stuttered
"Really? Is that what your Daddy gives you?
"Yes...Yes Mommy"
"Good lemme quickly prepare break fast for everyone" she said walking out
"Daddy! Your wife-"
"Don't worry too much Maryam from now on she'll be treating you good I promise you that"
"OK Daddy thank you Sir"
"You're welcome my dear....now go take your bath" he said then walk out

"Maryam I'm traveling today and it will take me up to five month before I return,I have some company project that I need to do,it'll take me long before I come back"
"He's leaving? What do I do now? His wife is going to kill me before he returns" I thought
"Daddy you're leaving?"
"Yes my dear and don't you worry, your Mommy is here, she's going to take good care of you very well"
"The opposite" I thought again
"And I've made all your school preparation and so as your Arabic school too,you going to start attending class on Monday Insha Allah"
"Really? Really Daddy?! I'm going to school on Monday? Thank you so much! Thank you so much" I said squealing happily
"You're welcome my dear,you're like a daughter to me,so I'll make sure to provide all your needs,and your Mom will take care of the rest both your books,shoe,cloth and bag"
"Yes Jawad I'll and that's enough already, you can go now, I don't want you to get late" Mommy said
"OK bye,you two should take care OK?"
"OK bye" Mommy said
"Bye Daddy,wish you safe journey, may Allah always protect you"
"Amin my dear thank you, you're such an intelligent girl" he said smiling before walking out
Immediately he walk out,mommy drag her leg towards the entrance of the kitchen. "Should I go ask her about what I should do? I'm scared...just go" my subconscious advice me
"Mommy! Mommy!" I whispered afraid of what she's going to do
"Who's your stupid mother?" She ask me giving a death glare
"I'm not your mother witch! All those drama that you saw me performing since morning was only and act,because I don't want my husband to get angry with me,so stop calling me your Mom, if you don't want problem in this house and from today onward you'll be cleaning the whole house,you'll wash my cloth and iron it neatly,all the dishes you'll be made by you
I can't cook,how will I tell her that I can't cook?
"But Mommy-"
I can't finish what I was about to say when she slapped me " didn't I tell you not to call me your stupid mother again? You say "yes Ma" whenever I talk to you! Stupid girl"
"Yes Ma " I replied crying
"Good! And from now on...no any school for you,you don't deserve to be call a student,no school, no Islamiyya for you....go get change coz you're going to start hawking for me" she said but I couldn't move my leg
I'm going to hawk for her? For what reason?
Are you deaf? I said Go!" She shout making me to shiver from where I was standing
"Yes Ma " I answered crying again running to my room
